Absolutely welcome. It is your team.
-
Welcome, "Not Big Papi" Glad to have you aboard.
-
Howdy folks. I claimed Papi's team. Assuming you aren't holding it open, I'll renew asap and be open for business.

All paid up

great work getting first trade in-- the offseason has begun! maybe the next trade will involve players I've heard of, who knows? Maybe-- you have not reupped for next year, so you are not in compliance... i'd rather not reverse this trade, can you give us an idea of when you'll be able to pay dues?
-
Nice work everyone getting their arb in on time (minus Papi who just doesn't have an owner right now). Looking forward to a busy offseason. Please remember that when trading opens, our house rule is that you must have renewed for next year before completing trades. Thanks!
-
Commish and owners, downsizing quite a bit from my crazy year depression where I was claiming every team or almost, thanks for the fun, but I got to slow down (time consuming and $$), please abandon my team Congrats to winners

Congratulations, Buttermaker! You had a strong season the entire year. Nice job. Also kudos to John Henry for a last second slide into 2nd, and Homer for a solid 3rd place. I'm coming for you all next year! :-)
-
Hi everybody, good example of the rule here. Chippy and I noticed that Mythical was down a couple relievers. Rule I.a.1 requires everyone to maintain 22 man mlb rosters capable of filling a starting lineup. That’s all starting spots including 5 relievers. We notified Mythical and added back the 2 relievers to his roster while he made different cuts. Thanks everyone for understanding and being on top of things
-
What’s not permitted is grabbing a bunch of players at the end of the year without making corresponding cuts. If you’re going to try to grab some folks on the wire with an eye toward next year, you will have to make cuts to stay within the roster limits.
-
Just a quick note to remind everyone that our league rule is that your roster must be legal at the end of the year. That is, it has to be legal within the legal limits at the time. So teams that are over the cap are fine as long as they have loans and teams that have over 40 players are fine if that’s because they have guys on the 60 day IL.
-
reupping reminder from last year regarding rosters (in case anyone has the bright idea of adding 50 players on the final day of the season)
-
Hello Fly Rulers - I was recycling previously cut players today and I accidentally cut Brooks Lee instead of Dominic Fletcher (they were next to each other in the list). I have asked the commish to reverse the mistake. Sorry for the confusion. Ron
-
It appears the only want to remedy that is to re-add Heim to my roster and $4 and then cut him again, so that the current, single $2 penalty is reflected. Just wanted to let everyone know that’s what’s going on when you see that I’m monkeying around with my own roster.
-
Hi everyone. Just wanted full transparency on this dumb Heim transaction. Last night I cut him and my internet was running slow so I hit the button a couple times before the transaction went through. It then appeared on our transactions like I cut him twice, which whatever. But it was then counting two $2 cap hits for me, instead of one. I went in to remove one of those this morning and by removing one, it removed both.
-
Yeah, I’m not planning to override anything. Y’all made a deal, it is what it is. I’ll just sit here and whine to myself about buttermakers is getting stacked
-
I appreciate how much faith you had in me Copper and I wish I could have given you a grand yarn about puppet mastering this whole league and my team 5 years from now. Guess I am glad to see / hear you guys are all paying attention.

I was kinda hoping you had a galaxy brain answer about low cost veteran pitchers that made the trade make sense. I am not one to veto trades unless there is obvious collusion - but I definitely raised an eyebrow
-
To be honest Papi, Butters had been bugging me with trade options and I am in retool mode, i.e. bigger than a 3 player rebuild. If you think I am letting go of more than I should then so be it. You or anybody else can veto it, Chippy or Homer can cancel it, etc. We can then rework something more palatable. Didn't intend to spit in anyone's coffee.

Buttermaker is getting a lot for what he's giving up, the three guys won't even help much Wendigos next year (so forget rebuilding). I would appreciate an explanation on that one from Wendigos

Damn, is losing Acuna and Strider before June like my punishment or something? Man, imagine if they were on the same real life team? That would suck
-
294.1 points in a day by the Bears. Wow.
-
“ If two teams are tied or the regular season has not begun yet, a coin flip will determine who is awarded the player.”
-
I believe it is considered a "tie", which is broken by "coin flip's according to the site rules
-
How are auction ties determined if two people make the same bid, before the season starts?
-
That was fast. The Korea series will NOT be counted for us because we draft after those games. Sucks for me just as much as anyone cause I’m likely to lose some points that way, but it’s hard enough to schedule a draft around 12 people’s schedules, so I’d just leave it be.
-
Ya know what, I actually don’t know. Maybe chippy does but for my part, I think I saw opening day listed on MLB’s site as 3/28 not realizing that series is before then. I’ll see if I can find out from Niv if those games would apply retroactively or if we’ll just skip them
-
Apologies if I missed this before joining the league, but are we not counting the Dodgers-Padres series in Korea as a part of our season?
-
Cut deadline on Wednesday, folks. Get em in or be stuck with your bums until the season starts
-
Based on feedback, I locked in the draft for SAT March 23rd 11a est
Keeper deadline/end of offseason trading is Jan 31st
Let's keep the hot stove hot

Welcome!
-
Hello all, excited to join the league. Always open to trade ideas, looking forward to the season!
-
Happy new year, everyone! Just a heads up that Blue Jays decided to step away. I’ve abandoned his team. If anyone knows anyone who would like to pick up a team, feel free to let them know. If I am remembering correctly, that’s the old WAR Children roster and it’s as strong as any abandoned team roster I think is out there
-
Both March 23rd and 24th are fine for me.
-
I am good with either day.

Either day works for me

Any time on March 23 works for me.

Whatever the majority decides is fine with me

Saturdays are not the greatest option for me, but I can make it work if the league decides.
-
Earlier is better than later for me on the 23rd. Also available all day on the 24th.

Aliens are on earth all day to league's convenience. Thank you for being pro active

looking at 3/23 for ideal draft day-- anyone have any conflicts with that day? Any times they can't make it?
-
That's awesome! Go Cary-Grove!
-
I realize this is a baseball site, however I want to point out that Cary-Grove HS just won the Illinois class 6A football championship for the second time in three years.
-
Congrats to Danconia and Gnome (of course) for getting the first trade done! Let's have a busy offseason
-
Gnomes are ready. No moss grows under gnomes paws. I always promptly respond. Have fun to all.

arbitration is almost over, which means the hot stove is heating up! offseason trading starts when arb ends... just a reminder that you need to have paid dues for the upcoming season to be able to make ANY changes to your roster, including trades-- so now would be a great time to pay dues for 2024 and enjoy an active offeseason
-
Thank you to Gnome who gave me a heads up regarding the opening. He and I compete (in a friendly manner) in a couple of H2H leagues.
-
Thanks, I am looking forward to my first non-H2H Ottoneu league. I'm hoping that I can keep the learning curve fairly short.
-
Welcome to the league, Cheese Balls!
