I vote YES to the rule
-
I vote YES to the rule. Nobody is saying that you can't take on salary. What's being said is that if you do take on so much salary, you are expected to compete in this league the following season. You can't "take the money and run".
-
I know I haven't voiced an opinion on this before but can we at least vote on this? I don't really agree with this rule either. Taking on salary is part of playing Ottoneu and it happens in every league. And 475 is pretty low threshold to enforce this on.
-
I let the knights go rather than to have him stay in a huff, but from now on, the rule is that you have to pay your following season dues in order for a trade to go through that would bring you up over $475 payroll. No more exceptions. This is a really active league with a lot of owners who were here from the inception of the league, which makes it surprising that two league champions have left in a row. I'm dubious of the strategy to add payroll, win, and then leave. No more! ;)
-
Also, teams that go over $500 usually have more good pieces than a 12th place team that checked out in July, so not hard to find someone to take over IMO.
-
I think if you don’t want people to go over $500 you should just make it a hard rule. Easier than trying to track down next years buy-in from someone who left.
-
Apologies I don't remember something from 11 months ago
-
You commented on November 20th 2021 about it
-
Apparently I was aware of the rule I've been told, ok whatever, I'll be back in that case
-
I was not aware of the rule, other leagues do have that and its enforced during the season. There's payroll's this high or higher in every league I'm in, including my own payrolls if my team has a shot to cash
-
The knights are trying to leave our league now with the $515 payroll. Didn't we have a rule in place that you had to pay your next year's dues if you went over $475? This would be two years in a row that the league Winner went up over $500 in payroll and then bailed the league after winning and their responsibility to get their payroll down. It's a terrible trend to allow to happen. Who's to stop anyone from taking on infinite payroll and then bail the league?
-
Welcome Team to be named later I’m open to moving up a pay tier not sure about anyone else. Also arbitration starts tomorrow and ends November 15th make sure to allocate at least one dollar to every team. Good luck to everyone on their off season decisions.
-
Hi all, happy to be part of the league! Would the league have any interest in bumping to the $100 prize tier? At $50 only ~58% of buy-in goes to prizes while at $100 75% does.
Either way, have a fun roster I’m looking forward to!
-
Congratulations to the Knights for beating Hartford by a half a point. Wow. That's the closest I've ever seen. Bourbon street is abandoned so if anyone knows any friends that might want to take over tell them they can find them under the abandon team section of the ottonue. Let's do a good job of reminding each other about arbitration. Cheers.
-
That’s a wrap on the season! It was a tight race all season and came down to the last day! I’m looking forward to relaxing and watching some playoff baseball with my eye towards next year. Cheers!
-
Reminder the trade deadline is tomorrow at midnight. The last month is shaping up to be a sprint to the finish!
-
Does anybody want to unload a catcher? If you do please let me know.
-
I still need to reduce my roster size considerably. If people are interested in adding depth, message me. I'd like to do three for one or even four for one deals. Don't bother trying to dump over paid players. It will just be a waste of time for both of us. Let's make some trades!. I have great prospects and none of my players are over priced. Well, except for maybe sixto Sanchez :)
-
I have too many prospects. If anyone wants to do a three prospect for one better prospect trade, send me a message. I'll do three prospects for a fair priced major leaguer as well.
-
Looking to trade one of my catchers. Let me know if you're interested.
-
Because of what Mil Best did to us last year we will need to enforce the rule that if your roster hits $475 or above, you must pay your following years dues. Mil climbed up near 600 and bailed after his championship. Super lame. I wish I remembered his ID so I could see if he’s ina nay of my other leagues.THANKS EMPIRE. Cool move.
-
I am not sure if we ever confirmed the rule, but since my budget is climbing with trades, I will pay my next years entry fee today.
-
Samesies
-
Looking to trade for an impact outfielder. Hit me up.
-
Yes, I cut Mike Trout. I thought long and hard and decided that the players I can get with Mike trouts $48 is the best possible return I could receive in a trade. Players available that I like on free agency, mixed with the players that will have to be dropped by whoever picks up trout, and players from this June's draft. I could get a three for one in a trade or I can get a seven or eight for one this way. Good luck in the mike trout sweepstakes. And watch out for the beaver in '23 or '24.
-
Pushing all my chips into the middle of the table. All my prospects are available
-
Full transparency. I have an offer to me for trout, and two other big names that I'm not bowled over by. I told the person that I would accept it on noon Saturday unless I get a better offer from someone. Don't complain on Saturtday and say it's a bad trade if you can't do better. You all will have had your chance. Trout is at a career low $48 and maybe putting up some of his best numbers. Especially during a pitcher dominant season. You gotta love that micro dosing roids won't test positive.
-
In fairness to the league because I know people get upset when they don't get a shot at a star before they get traded. I'm getting close to moving Mike Trout. If you want a chance, send offers ASAP because I'm in heated talks. I'll probably make a deal by the weekend. No guarantees of course, but it's going in that direction. If you can better the offer, he can be yours.
-
i'm transitioning into rebuild if you want to send over some trade ideas
-
If anybody is looking to shake up their roster please shoot me a message. I'm looking to possibly restructure mine.
-
I need pitching for prospects. Saves and starting pitching.
-
Does anybody feel like there's no chance they're gonna win it this year and they want to start building for the future? I've got some excellent prospects and I've got Soroka on the 60 day IL. I need stolen bases and saves. Let's do this
-
Nice draft. Without a hitch. Thank you. Another year, same situation for my team. I didn't draft enough relief pitchers, but overly stacked in other areas. If anyone has a surplus of relief pitchers let's talk.
-
I'm game to start when everyone gets to the draftroom sorry, I've been busy and missed all of the chatter. I sent my reminder from the celtics game at halftime. I'm going to start anytime, but we'd need everyone present.
-
Draft tonight 6pm East. Let me know if you’ll be late or will miss it so I can plan accordingly.
-
So 6, final answer?
-
Yes, I was voting no-change. But like said, doesn't impact me much.
-
15 minutes does nothing for me, so leave it at 6:00, that's the timing on our league page, we have a better chance of nobody MIA
-
Can we shoot for 5:45 start BUT we don't start until everyone arrives? 6:00 at the latest. We message the league and cross are fingers.
-
You will to confirm with everyone, because if somebody comes in late because the timing is changed, then it's unfair to them, not easy changing something on so short notice but GL
-
I'd prefer to keep it at 6, I could try and do if 5:30 if needed.
-
My bad I thought Milwaukee was asking for 6:00, 5:30 is no help for me but it's a compromise I can live with if it helps Worldwide
-
To appease everyone, can we make it for 5:30?
-
Especially that he has 6 spots and only 22$ so he won't able to bid in the first hour anyway, crossing my fingers
-
Sorry, but I was good with 5:00, I have 7 drafts today including an important one at 6:00, I managed two at the same time last night and it's not fun, if you change timing that we all agreed on, then it creates a problem for another team. So if I get a saying I say leave at 5:00 and Milwaukee could get a proxy maybe
-
I'm good with 6. Could be late to change, even by an hour.
-
6 is fine but 5 would be great
-
5:00 or 6:00? Good question.
-
Is the draft at 5pm or 6pm. It’s setup for 6, but there were previous messages that said it would be 5. I’m good either way, just want to make sure I’m not late.
