Welcome Steve. Little tip: Trade me all your good players and you'll get along just fine in this league, and in life.
Should we find new owners for FFFS and Newman? It's been months since they've logged in so assuming they're out moving forward

Welcome Steve! And good luck for the upcoming season!!!
-
Please welcome the new owner of 3701. I have played with him in other Ottoneu leagues, and he will be a welcome addition to our league.
-
I have just added Roll Tribe’s arb manually. Roll Tribe, please check to see that I haven’t made a typo or any other kind of error.
-
Unless anyone objects, Roll Tribe can send his arb to me and I will add them manually.
-
Forgot to get my arb in, I’ve been getting killed at work. Can send over manually today if that works

I hate to nag, but arbitration ends in less than 48 hours and 4 teams have not allocated. Please get this done.

Yeah, Brokedown, congratulations to a fine season! Very well played…
-
3701 has let me know this is his final year. He has graciously offered to do arbitration if necessary. Does anyone know an owner who would like to take over the team? Do we want to abandon the team now?
-
Congrats! Nice season!

Congrats, Brokedown Palace. I was MIA most of the year and wasted a monster season of Aaron Judge but hope to be back next year despite a baby girl coming in February.

Brokedown no more! Congrats on a great season Brokedown Palace, and also to Lesbos for another season near the top of the standings.

It was a great race Lesbos. I thought you were going to take it. Well played.

Unfortunately, we couldn't make it a real nail biter. Very impressive chip Brokedown! Well earned!

Not to take away from Ohtani (or history) but he doesn't come to the plate 6 times if the Dodgers aren't pouring on runs, he doesn't drive in 10 baserunners if the Dodgers don't put 21 men on base. And the three HRs came off a position player, an RP who started the year in AAA and has an ERA over 6, and an RP who's been DFA'ed four times this season by four different teams. Now you hate me.

I saw that no player in baseball history has ever had in his entire career (same game or not): a game with 10+ RBIs, a game with 6+ hits, a game with 5+ XBH, a game with 3+ HRs, and a game with 2+ SBs. Ohtani did that all in the same game.

This is a great question. Roger Bannister breaking the 4-minute mile? Eliud Kipchoge breaking the 2-hour marathon? (you can tell I'm a runner)? If we expand the definition of sport, what about Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay summiting Everest? Or Roald Amundsen reaching the South Pole? I would lean towards an individual event - something like Bolt - since it removes the impact of competition, teammates, etc.

Tiger at the 2000 US Open was a four day event, but pretty damn dominant.

Last night was the greatest individual performance a baseball player has ever had in one game, yes? And to go even wider, is it the greatest one game performance in any sport? Wilt Chamberlain scoring 100 points is up there, Usain Bolt breaking the 100m dash record in the Olympics, Katie Ledecky winning by the length of the pool. What else is there?

I would like to make a trade. The race for third and a little bronze trophy is quite competitive and I midas whale go for it. I could use help with quality RP and 2B. I think I can move some OF, 1B or SS depth. It can be small deal just to make a deal or we can go nuts. But we need some trades before the deadline.

Another year of winning Mike Trout in auction, another year of being disappointed by the result. Can't wait to do it again next year.
-
Also, when they trade Robert/Fedde/Crochet, unless they get back ML ready talent, next year might even be worse. Anyways, go Bears, go Caleb Williams, it's football season
-
The baffling thing(s) are 1) How did it get this bad so quickly? They made the playoffs in 20, won the division in 21 and were in the division race in September in 22. And two seasons later they're historically bad. 2) They actually have some good players! Luis Robert, Garrett Crochet, Eric Fedde. How bad are the rest of the guys that even with these three that they're still historically bad?
-
The White Sox are on pace for 42 wins this season. Every other team in the AL (except Oakland, with 41) has already eclipsed that mark. Sorry, Gaeger.

This isn’t shaping up to be my year. Open to trading off pieces for young keepable talent for next year. Ohtani is probably the only player I would want to hang onto. Message me if you want to talk trades.

3701, you picked a good week to trade for Gorman!

In 2022, I had two offers I was weighing for Mike Trout. Spencer Torkelson, Jeffrey Springs and Reid Detmers. Or bobby Witt, Adolis Garcia and Cole Winn. I'll let you guess which offer I took. I am the White Sox of our league
-
Open to offers on a $57 Acuna. Looking to stay competitive this season. Willing to accept discounted returns given the injury.

Happy Opening Day! A lot of AL Central talk, I'm loving it. I'm a Twins fan living in Minnesota so I'm liking what Taco is saying. I do think the Twins will squeak it out in a three team race with Detroit and Cleveland in the last week of the season. Good luck everyone!!!

Happy (stateside) opening day! For all who gamble…good luck!
Twins win Central by 6+ games…Pablo Lopez for AL Cy Young…Betts, Freeman, and Ohtani are the top three NL MVP vote getters…and after all is said and done…the Minnesota Vikings still don’t win the Super Bowl
