A player on the 60 day IL does not count toward your 40 player limit. However, the baseball team has to place them on the 60 day IL, and sometimes they are slow about that. It will be very clearly marked on the player if he is on the 60 day IL. No one on your team is on the 60 day IL. So if you win a player at an auction, you must cut a player to make your team legal.
