Welcome to the league Team to be Named Later!
-
I have asked a few owners in other leagues to adopt one of the vacant teams. A couple available teams have pretty good rosters. At least a couple said they will take a look. But I’m not sure. I’m hoping we get at least most teams new owners before the renewal deadline.
-
So are we still waiting on a ton of owners? I was hoping to hop in somehwere that's going to stick around, but that's not the best sign
-
Hey guys. Hope it’s ok if I joined. I’m looking for a good active league to get in on here.
-
I’m pretty sure I can one guy.
-
I have asked around with owners in other leagues who I have good relationships with. But nobody was looking to add another team. I posted messages on the public boards in other leagues. I think one problem is that (with a couple exceptions) the rosters of the vacant teams are really poor, and there are better rosters with vacant teams in other leagues. I’m hoping we can get some life back in this league, preferably before renewal is due.
-
We need to do something about the vacant teams. Renewal is due in a week, and it’s not that $20 is a lot of money - just that it seems a waste if the league is going into 2022 with 7 vacancies. I’m happy to stay on, just looking for something to get the league active again.
-
I know it’s not the time of year baseball is on anyone’s mind, but if you are like me and can’t get baseball out of your head, let’s make a deal or 2.
-
I posted messages on a couple other leagues looking for new team owners. Does anybody know of anyone in other leagues who would take over one of the vacant teams? Most of them need some work, but that’s most of the fun.
-
I abandoned a total of seven teams. If any of us remaining can think of anyone who would be interested in picking up a team please ask them.
-
I abandoned Flying Squirrels and Fairhaven Bulldogs.
-
My team will need to be claimed.

How many abandoned teams need new owners? I’d vote to get any teams without active owners listed so they can be claimed before too much longer.
-
Any predictions for the college football playoff? I’ll predict an Alabama-Georgia rematch, and a 19th national title for the Tide.
-
Hey guys, I posted a message back on Oct 4 that I had decided to leave. I’m still getting messages, so obviously my team hasn’t been abandoned or given to a new owner. I’m just making sure that you’re aware that I left so you’re not screwed later on.

12/$207 and I value Franco’s future extension 6/$147. We can’t be absolutely certain that Franco will be worth $40m/yr six years from now. To me the Franco extension is a good one for the Rays only IF the CBO is changed in regards to younger player’s terms of service, arbitration and free agency eligibility.

I especially agree on the Buxton contract considering he would have been a free agent after this season. I look at Franco’s contract as 12/$207, assuming the Rays pick up the 1 year $25m option. I have no idea what the new CBO will look like in terms of terms of service, arbitration and free agent eligibility, but using the current deal in place, the Rays still had Franco under control for six years. I estimate that Franco would have earned $60m in those six years. Back out 6/$60 from

Does anybody need a catcher? I have more C than I can carry.
-
The best off-season moves so far are the Twins signing Buxton and Rays signing Wander to long term deals. I’ll bet both of those deals wind up working out very well for the teams. I love the Buxton extension. Buxton is one of the best ball players in the planet. A healthy season from Buxton could see him as an MVP candidate.
-
Scherzer getting $40M a year from the Mets! I bet Steve Cohen really enjoys owning the Mets. He keeps things interesting. As long as Mets have the money, which they seem to, adding Escobar, Canha, Marte and Scherzer should make them fun to watch. And I’ll bet Cohen isn’t done yet.
-
If anybody is still playing in this league, let me know if you want to make some off season moves. I’m looking to shake up my roster.
-
fine in the moderate to long term.

It doesn't happen often, every four five years or so there is some moderate to major turnover. There is usually 1-2 teams every year. Instead of thinking this league has no atmosphere, you could ask oneself What do I bring to the table? Do the remaining six teams add character and experience? Is there someone I could recruit that can make the league better? I've been here all eight years in this league. Owners come and go, as long as you have a good core of owners, the league should be

I think I will bail then, sorry guys. I value the atmosphere and feeling around a league and it doesn't seem to be here
i did my arb
-
does this happen often? I would like to play in a league with some atmosphere and engagement but if half league drops yearly I will find a new league also
-
It looks like 6 teams need new owners. I’ll post messages in my other leagues to see if anybody wants to add another team.
-
I've done my arbs, but I'm also out.
-
i unfortunately will also be dropping out. cutting down from my 6 leagues to 2-3. completed arb so should be all set there at least. it's been fun!

shame, my roster is looking good. Ill make sure to do my arb before i go just to make sure its done
-
i have to bow out as well, too many leagues for me. i am taking over a team from the rays blog league and this one in addition would be alot
-
I would like to see arbitration reduced to a week. Why does this take a month? I’d like to see the trade approval period and free agent auctions reduced from 48 to 24 hours. I’d like to see GIDP penalized more than a standard out (maybe an extra 3 point penalty). And I love to see saves and holds eliminated from the point system. But NIV is stuck in a rut with the point system.
-
I also get fatigued every year. But once arbitration is over, my batteries are usually fully charged. The most fun I have is the offseason.
-
There is always turnover, some years more than others. I kind of like the layout and the game the way it is. There may be a few adjustments I would like to see like no overage in inning's pitched.
-
Teams always get adopted before too long. But by now even I admit to some Ottoneu fatigue. Very few updates - even the same old green and yellow design. It could use some freshening up. And things like SP/RP roles and save and hold points should be updated to reflect current pitcher trends.
-
will this league continue? so many are stepping away
-
Congrat's Winnetka. I couldnt catch up.
-
I’ll be back next year, and while I might not go worst-to-first, I’ll do my best. Ottoneu’s hot stove season helps keep baseball going through the long, cold upstate NY winters. Go Red Sox!
-
Thanks everyone and sorry to see you go. Everyone's situation is different, but Vin I had three toddlers at once, quite awhile ago, and I needed fantasy sports more than ever back then to just escape reality.
-
Hey guys, after thinking things over, I’ve decided to cut back from 10 to a more manageable number of Otto teams. Thanks for having me! I think I left the team in good shape. Best wishes! Feel free to abandon my team.
-
Congrats to Winnetka's win + dominance. I enjoyed this year as well, sniffed 3rd & 2nd even at one point, but alas ended up in 5th. I, too, am stepping away from Ottoneu for some time (job change + toddler will do that to you). Happy to stick around through arb and what not if needed though to keep the competitive balance going! Thanks all!
-
Congrats to Winnetka as well! Have really enjoyed being involved in this active league. Now is a time I am planning to step back from a few of my dynasty leagues, and am requesting my team be posted up for a new owner.
Wishing everyone going well going forward, and hoping that everyone enjoys October baseball. Thanks!!!

Congrats Winnettka!

Gift?!!! Eloy Jimenez and Wander Franco were part of the early in the year trade that included a $25 loan. For players that he just won in the auction. I would dare to say that Spa City is fairly happy with that trade. $94 in net loans on the year is relatively low for a competitive team. There is a team in one of my other leagues that has taken in $406 in net loans.

I’ll keep that in mind next year. But I had no chance this year, so why not trade for future value?
-
Maybe don't gift someone 94$ in extra roster early in the season and it will be competitive
-
With Winnetka up by 2,100 points, it seems safe to say Congratulations! for winning the ‘21 title.
-
Fairhaven had previously cut them, which set them to a minimum auction price of half their previous salary. 30+ days past without anyone else auctioning them, so he was able to auction them himself at the new lower price. He cut them again, so now his roster penalty is half of what it was before. Just a way of managing roster penalties and cap space.

what just happened with those guys: Rosenthal, Keuchel, etc?
-
yup, that was it. It's set up so that the penalty free cuts must be made all in one initial cut window rather than individually. No worries, I got it corrected.
