Thanks for doing the cat herding on the commissioner stuff.

Auction is set for Thursday, Feb 27th @ 8:30 PM EST
-
Still waiting on 3 more teams to complete the poll! If you want to have a say in the auction date, make sure to enter your availability before the end of the weekend. Right now we have a few dates where everyone has said they're available, so we'll choose the winning date on Monday morning.
-
Just as a reminder, if the auction is on a weekday (Mon - Fri) it will be at 8:30 PM EST, otherwise it will be at 1 PM EST
-
Here is the link to the poll, please select all days that you're available and we'll choose the earliest one that we can all be there for. https://doodle.com/poll/4bpwybtvcead73vp
-
I am not availble on Saturday March 14th but other than that I am good to go on any other day.
-
So we need to figure out a date for the auction - but we need to know what time will work for everyone. I believe we have a couple people that are outside the US, which will make things a bit trickier.
In the past we've usually done around 8:30 PM EST on a week night, or 1 PM EST on a weekend. The auction usually takes about 2 - 2.5 hours.
Is there anyone that these times DO NOT work for?
-
Welcome Shawn!
-
By the way my name is Shawn.
-
Hey all, I claimed the open team and joined the league. Made some cuts to get under cap.
-
Not yet, we'll need a poll to see what day works for everyone. I'll put one together in the next day or two
-
Do we have a date for the auction set yet?

Looks like I'll be entering the season with Verlander + Osuna, but I'm still willing to move one or both of them for some cost-controlled players.
-
I'm waiting til the last day. I think we will most likely look to replace any teams that don't participate in arbitration, so make sure you don't miss the deadline if you want to stay for next season!
-
4 days left for allocations. If you plan on waiting until the last day, let me know and I'll stop busting chops.
-
Friendly reminder to get on those allocations. Only 10 days left!
-
Thanks! Glad to be joining.

Good luck to you too!

Hey guys, you've been a nice group of people for the most part, and I've enjoyed competing with most of you, but this is my last year here. Good luck next year!

Hi everyone! Just took over Inside-Hr! Will be updating things here in just a bit. Happy to be here!
-
Any luck on a replacement owner for MLB Inside Home Run?
-
Hey all, I don't have time time/energy/interest to continue playing so abandoning my team. Doing so ASAP to give someone the opportunity to take it and play for next year. It's been fun. Good luck.
-
Thanks! Excited to join the league

Sluggers / ByeBye Blackbird has a new owner, let's welcome him to the league. Also I apologize if my previous message was a bit short-tempered, dealing with a personal issue.
-
Tell you what, I'll pay your 25 if you go ByeBye birdie and save us the suffering. Just send your PayPal info to tycobbfya@yahoo.com

That seals it for me, the trade is bad and that makes it worse. Not going to keep beating a dead horse. Been nice to play with some of you but I am gone, please remove me effective immediately

Don't get sucked in. He does this in his other leagues too.
-
I think people generally take too much offense on trades. Particularly when they can't articulate a better offer they would make themselves. If it's obviously too light it should be easy to prove by explaining what you would have done different. Should be easy to show you'd offer 1.5 Eddie rosario worth of value if it's so light. I know I couldn't. Ruff expressed his view with real players, and I think the Rosario deal was quite a bit better than that.

Yes they are father/son. But again, if you had some obviously better offer, I would certainly be interested to know what it was. I'm the main person in the running here and so I'm most likely to take offense. And I've felt improperly attacked for my trades from Tux before, and have been trying to knocked them off in this league for years. And despite all that, the trade looks completely reasonable on its face to me.

Is it true the two teams are owners that are related??
-
Looks great to me. Tux ain't keeping Scherzer at 44 and he's not in the pennant chase, so smart move is to shop him for some value going into next year. And Cruz solidifies a chance at the title. I may be the new guy, but this ain't rocket science. Don't like it, veto it. But it ain't a terrible trade.
-
Yeah, so Rosario is at least a $25 player and he costs single digits. Disagree? That's your prerogative. I've made 50+ trades in this league and they've all been fair. You don't think so? Then veto it. Any unfair trades should be vetoed.
-
I had made an offer of Eloy and Matt Chapman for Max, Mous, and Maeda. Was told I wasn't close.
-
Looked in the neighborhood of ok to me. I don't think I could have beat the price paid. What would you have offered?

So the Max trade is a terrible trade.
-
Is there really going to be a complaint series about someone spending $9 of $73 in cash? He got a prospect he likes, that is locked into a reasonable price. I got a few bucks, in a league where there is like $250+ floating around. Anyone think Roto's cash is too cheap? Buy it from him.

It is not a good trade. Though it's not league shattering.
-
I'm assuming Roto thinks VanMeter has good upside and is cheap at $1, and he's got enough cash to pry players away. Looks like VanMeter developed some power in AAA this year. Maybe could have gotten him for less.
