Is something wrong with the daily score change function on the home page or do I have some setting wrong?
-
Good call Brew…at least Cubs hitters.

Hitters day
-
First day of major warm.front, 80 degrees today was 40 last weekend. Winds from south and west means rest your pitchers @ Wrigley today. Wind is blowing out 30 to 35 mph. Cutoffs and bikini tops will be in full display, however
-
Rogers was someone I thought I could pickup and stream against the Diamondbacks then drop. I executed my side… him… not so much
-
Sounds like Rogers is just another piece of shit like Fedde
-
Just noticed the Josh Rogers cut. Clearly whoever provides the player note was texting it in: "Analysis: Rogers had yet to allow a hime run over two starting appearances, but that trend ended in a bog way agains Arizona."

thx

It's on the Standings page, right below the list of years and above the actual standings.
-
woohoo! fly salmon, fly!
(do you have a link to that leaderboard? I know I used to have it, but cannot seem to find it any longer)
-
The Salmon are currently #46 on the Global Leaderboard. Not bad for $338!
-
Brent has the second lowest payroll and he should be able to hold on to first for more than a fleeting moment. April has been good to us small market squads.
-
That lasted all of five minutes, but it was a nice five minutes.
-
Let us just all take a moment to revel in the fact that the team with the lowest payroll is in first place. Congrats Hook.
-
It was interesting that Acuña threw a little unexpected “right way” shade at Freddie. Though that might work to Freddie’s advantage with a lot of Braves fans.

Freddie might be the only baseball player my wife could name (maybe she could come up with Mike Trout, or “Ozzie Acuña or something”, or Yastrzemski, though she was quite bummed to learn he’s the grandson not son), but she stayed up to watch and was pleased by Freddie’s HR in his 1st PA vs the Braves. Cheer for the people not the uniform might be a good lesson.

I agree that Freddie's people/agent take the blame. Maybe thats good deflection on Freddie's part, but thats my feelings. My youngest still pretends to be Freddie when he hits in little league, so there is no love lost for the team transfer. Thats my lesson to him, keep cheering for guys you like and that help make your team good. Of course, I didnt follow that message when McCann went to the Yanks. Since then McCann has lost my fandom because of his "play the game the right way" nons
-
btw, Freddie was a lot better in his interviews before the first Braves/Dodgers game. He probably got some coaching (“crying worked for Alex, maybe you want to try it?”) but it’s too late to change the narrative. But I think Freddie’s people take the blame, he’ll be treated very well when the Dodgers come to town.

We still call our pup Freddie (though now I tell people he’s named after our Fred, not Freeman) (no Brew it’s not true), but yeah it’s tough for kids. I guess it’s up to you to make sure they learn the right lessons—that loyalty is for chumps, you gotta chase the almighty dollar, etc. Or something like that.

I think it easier for folks like us to accept Freddie's departure. My kids are definitely still bummed and havent taken to Olson yet, just because of lack of familiarity. Acuna coming back will be great for them, but the two Freeman shirts they have are still in the school rotation. I agree that AA won the PR battle, both from a baseball perspective (Olson looks great) and a communications perspective (most feel like Freddie held the Braves hostage).
-
Olson is a great fit
-
It doesn’t hurt Brew but it’s not really necessary. Somehow, AA and the Braves easily won the PR battle. Now I’d say most Braves fans (a) do miss Freddie, but (b) believe he actually wanted to go home to SoCal, and (c) appreciate that Acuña-Albies-Riley-Olson will be good longer than Acuña-Albies-Riley-Freeman. I did not expect this to happen so quickly and easily.

I would imagine native son Olson's hot start helps mitigate the loss of Freeman for Braves fans. Both are gold glove, no loss on defense either.

Just thought it wise to bench Smyly @ Rockies

Perhaps quality and SP are now an oxymoron

I'm looking for my offense.

yeah, I'm shopping for an SP too. Will deal Luciano, or, Bregman or Machado
-
I will be looking to trade top prospects for quality SP .
-
Buxton hurt again , I should have done a beer bet over under for plate appearences with him
-
Well, it's been three years and he hasn't implemented it. So probably not a real priority despite the length of that discussion.
-
That's really interesting. I've seen some other one-line comments that are basically, "not a priority."

A quick search led to this April 2019 thread where he clearly did not see it as a “feature”. Maybe he’s changed his mind since then but it seems clear this wasn’t an intentional result.

Has he ever given a rationale for it? A basic principle of game design is “there’s always a tradeoff” but there isn’t one here.

Niv has addressed this a couple of times in the forums and his response is basically "This is a feature not a bug."

Niv should fix this, there should be no free rides—especially for the 1st place team. In real price enforcing there’s some risk the enforcer pays the price, but not here.

“If two teams are tied for the highest bid, the player salary is that amount” applies to Brusdar. No one is ever forced to pay more than they bid.

I'd always just misunderstood this rule then

Do you think the Brusdar result is in conflict with this?

All in-season auctions are Vickrey auctions with blind bidding. The player is awarded to the team that makes the highest bid, and the player's salary is $1 more than the second highest bid. If there are no other bids, the player is awarded for $1 or the player's cap penalty if applicable. If two teams are tied for the highest bid, the player salary is that amount. If no one bids at all, the nominating team is awarded the player for $1 or the player's cap penalty if applicable
-
Yeah, Wright is $7 because I bid $7, if I’d bid $6 I’d have him for $6. Also Fred just cause other people do this doesn’t mean you have to; you don’t see Idaho doing it in Capped.

That is correct. The dollar bid only works if someone lower in the standings bids $2
-
That only works if someone actually bids more than 1$ on the guy. If all bids are 1$, the player is awarded to the mgr lowest in the rankings...pretty sure.
-
I don't see any issues Fred. Do you have a specific example? (I looked at Graterol, but nobody bid $2 on him..)
-
I bid 6$ on Wright ,as I actually wanted him, and his salary is correctly 7$ for Bat.
-
While I'm in first I'm biddingg 1$ on everyone to do the standard price inforce
. There is some glitch where its not working , guys are being awarded for 1$ , should be 2$. Could someone investigate ?
-
Will he be the guy to finally strike out Kwan? Will he at least outscore Kwan today?

The nick lodolo era is upon us . no matter whose team guys are on, I love the newly arrives to do well. Like Brash yesterday
-
There was some glitch, Brusdar should be 2$ not 1$

Back on a real computer where I can check the rules…of course a save is worth more than a K. But 3Ks are worth more than a save so in theory (though of course not in practice) there’s still no upper limit….
