Jealousy is a bitch

Let me rephrase. The hate over the Skenes pickup has been an eye opener. The guy that was behind it just traded with me. The comish called me a bot. Let’s get real fellow managers and be for real in the future on your outrage.

NYS, I'm starting to think you're a bot because you can't be serious. No one has insulted you once. You called us uninformed because we didn't go up to $39 to bid on Skenes.
-
How long before NYS deletes those posts too?
-
First, a joke and a wish are two different things. Then, there's the prevalence of minor leaguers needing TJ - a risk associated with every pitching prospect. Shit, I hope he IS good but it's not guaranteed. He could be shelved on your roster until he's 12 or 13 bucks bc of a relatively common surgery. AND he's coming off of an arguably irresponsible collegiate workload. I hope he's worth the cash but doing a victory lap now is insanity.

TINSTAAPP
-
:laughs in Tommy John:
-
I didn't bis on him so, by definition, I couldn't have been "out auctioned." But you keep doing you.
-
Didn't say anything about what you got Skenes for. I accurately noted your bid of $39, which is probably the biggest bid this season (more than anything I recall AKA Papi bidding). And it's for a guy who hasn't pitched a single inning of pro baseball. That's your prerogative - manage your team and money the way you want and let others do the same.
-
Yells at the clouds about how overpaying "ruins the league" and then bids $39 on a guy that hasn't pitched an inning of pro ball - all you can do is laugh lol
Disclaimer: I am by no means saying Skenes is bad - it is just objectively funny
-
Anyone who wants anyone on my team that is not NYS offer away this guy is a joke takes fantasy baseball way to seriously, loser.

yes it does considering I never heard of the guy. If anyone wants to make an offer for Realmuto he is on the market.

A $39 bid on Paul Skenes seems just a tad steep.
-
Mookie Betts on the block but don't offer me a bunch of long term injured players or crappy prospects or contracts for him, it will cost something decent to get him. Thanks all, sorry was traveling for 18 days 9 cities and all ballgames including the All Star game, pretty awesome stuff.

Thanks for the heads up.
-
Attention.....attention all League of Lev owners...I am placing Machado on the block, if no offers received, will drop him.
-
It was inane. No one understood your complaints. You never said AKA's big overpays!? Or how the Commissioners have "so many teams too. But I don’t see you guys overvaluation because you already have your players." Inanity. The league started 2011. So what??! Everyone's input was the same: what the hell are you talking about? No one understands your "point," other than insulting fellow owners. Totally confusing discussion, but really funny! Thanks for the amusement. Back to

I know we haven't been in this league very long but we don't really see an issue with bidding high. We're all operating with a cap. Guys will get cut and can be renommed for less later or get cut EOY. And some will get kept bc they paid off. Idk, seems like it all works itself out.
We bid aggressively on like Mason Miller and we think it was correct then. We also have guys we wish we bid more on in hindsight (Benson)! Can't always sneak your Andrew Abbotts through. Its just part of
-
So are we still allowed to (oops, I forgot "we" is a trigger word for NYS, let me re-phrase.) Are the teams in this league ("we") still allowed to bid whatever teams ("we") want on players, or will NYS set the maximum price? Maybe NYS has a point that this league ('we") shouldn't follow the Ottoneu rules like every other league? So NYS, what are the rules the league ("we") should follow?
-
I was going to post nearly exactly what Can O' Corn posted. I don't really understand the problem.
-
NYS, I'm a little confused as to what the problem is here (and yes, I tried to read back and to the beginning of the year but you deleted your message. And also your argument last night was semi-incoherent). Who has AKA overspent on? And what problem does that represent if he's in the bottom third of the standings? Isn't that how all of this works - you develop a strategy and see how it pans out?
-
I haven't seen Commissioners say anything? Did I miss it!? Who are AKA's players that are way over inflated? There is inflation because of bargain keepers not bid up in auction or prospects made good, like Elly this year (should I be mad at Rainmakers for having him cheap??) We also have cheap players and extra money because we have 3 teams who spend less than $300 (one under $200) on their roster; that includes you. If you bid up players, you make AKA spend his money. I'm confused on problem.
-
Hilarious I purposely left Domingo on the bench because he has been terrible.

That is an amazing number of teams. I have more teams now across all formats than I have ever had including NFBC (not the big the cash prize leagues by they way) which I am trying for the first time. I am in over my head with only SIX teams. Good luck and glad to have you in the league Big Papi!
-
Yep I was in top 16 in OPL last year. Things went a little out of control this year with me acquiring all those teams, hope I can keep up, GL to all this season. Just watched Shohei pitch to As's, fun to watch baseball
-
Glad to have you, Papi. I knew you're real because I'm in OPL and I've seen your name many times.
-
Hey no bot here. Calling me a weirdo?? That's a freebee. Check again, it's more like 125 leagues, took me almost 5 hours to do lineups today, so I'm not a bot for sure . I'm a retired senior (OK old) baseball fan, been with Ottoneu for 4-5 years now, sucker for CLAIM page when players I like are on roster. Ottoneu is my only hobby besides TV, so let me have fun and please not too much compliments my way. I don't think Niv sees me as a weirdo at all.
-
I'm fairly certain Papi is real. What say you, Papi?
-
Have a great season! Good luck this year and enjoy the show!
-
Yes, sir! Happy Opening Day!
-
Let's play Ball !
-
Auction starts in approximately 15 minutes.
-
Or I guess not Wahoo anymore now Team Name Undefined.
-
Hi Wahoo! Did you have any luck finding a proxy?
-
You can also do the same thing on the Ottoneu Forum. Just Google "Ottoneu Forum" and look for the "Managers Wanted" topic.
-
If you have an Ottoneu Slack account, you can go into the "Managers-Wanted" channel and indicate you need a proxy for tomorrow's auction.
-
Looks like I will need a proxy - tried to recruit a buddy but he isn't free either. I wasn't aware proxies were available, can one of you point me in the right direction? I appreciate the help!
-
I can do Friday. (Still miss our usual Sunday auction)
-
Is there anyone else who may not be able to make the auction on Friday?
-
Wahoo - Please let us know if you need a proxy. We can help you find one.
-
Wahoo, would you like some help finding a proxy to participate in the auction for you?

Don't think I'll be able to make Friday night as stated in the poll. Bummer considering the state of my team!
-
Hello! This is just a quick reminder that our auction is this Friday evening at 8:30 pm EDT. Looking forward to a great season!
-
Sounds good 24th of March works for me. Hope it works for everyone. Thanks for scheduling

Thanks everyone! We are closing in on a date -- March 22, 24, or 25. I am going to schedule us for the 24th at 8:30 pm ET as a placeholder. Meanwhile, pitchers and catchers are reporting this week and spring training games are on the horizon!
-
Sorry gang for the no responses, I have been on a cruise in the Caribbean but am back. March 22, 24, and 25 all work for me, I am a no go on March 10th. Thanks.

My schedule is still the same: out 13-18 March and all Tuesday evenings. I can do those 4 days. Sorry that the Sunday evenings that worked so well for so long are no longer possible.

Trip, I didn't vote in the poll, but I can make any of those dates work.
-
I can schedule around the day that doesn't work for me to grease the wheels on that.
-
I just looked at the poll. 8 people have completed the poll. There are no days that work for all of us. So, we will have to do the best we can. The best four days are Friday March 10, Wednesday March 22, Friday March 24, and Saturday March 25 where 7 of 8 can attend.
