Just as a notice/reminder, whichever may apply, the prize breakdown is a simple 160/80 split for first and second place.
-
Hey, sorry it's taken me awhile to get around to this, but if everyone can send a check for $20 to 310 S. St. Mary's Suite 1830, San Antonio Tx, 78205, I'll hold onto the prize money in escrow and send it to the winners at the end of the season. I have little interest in being disbarred, so you can trust me. Feel free to message me with any questions. Hope everyone is having fun.

Yeah, the Cubs have all the prospects and hype, but the actual lineup they fielded last night was atrocious
-
The Cubs ended up looking pretty rough

Baseball starts tonight. Go Cubs? I meant to do this earlier, but I'll have a Paypal (or something of that sort) site up for competition dues by the end of the week.

Look at Yu Darvish, just sitting in a pile of lesser Free Agents. He doesn't deserve that. Somebody nominate, pony up the money, and have him for a bargain next year.

Ok, everyone. Draft is tomorrow at 8 Eastern, 7 Central. For those who have new teams, just log in and select the "Auction Draft" tab at the top of the screen. You can set up a queue ahead of time if that sort of thing interests you. See y'all in there. Looking forward to it.

Thank you for being a voice of reason. I want the league to be as competitive as possible and I don't have any interest in changing the rules to my advantage. Terry didn't bring the idea to me till after the trade deadline, and even then we didn't necessarily expect a majority of owners to like the idea, but that's what happened. What I hope happens is that everyone plays to win this year and figure out what adjustments to make in the offseason. Should be plenty of trades; I think it'll be fun.

I had no idea anybody wanted to change the scoring either. At least I don't remember any talks about changing the scoring. We are all in the same boat really. I assume we all made trades and acquisitions based on the current scoring system. If teams were making trades based on the new scoring system before it had been discussed with everyone then that's garbage. However, I don't think that is the case.

Steve, I'm sorry if i'm not being clear but I don't think you see where i'm coming from. I'm really not taking shots at you or Terry as commissioner because honestly you guys are probably the best commissioners i've ever been in a league with. I am simply pointing out that you and a few other members in this league knew and wanted a rule change. I was completely in the dark on this desire. Judging by the fact that this was far from an unanimous vote, I think I am in the right to argue this issue

Sorry, Joe. Nobody had any knowledge of the change. If you'd like to reverse the Arenado trade I will, but I made it before I had any idea we might do this.

If we're going to have a league that will run indefinitely, it seems like we should be using the best scoring system - the one that recognizes value for the most on-field positive events. That's 4x4. My team will require more adjustments than most others, and that's still not very many.

Different than some owners have knowledge of an impending election and some owners having no knowledge at all. That's all that i'm asking for.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad you joined the league and are invested in the process, but I'm not sure what we could have done to make this more fair. We needed 7 out of 12 people to make it happen and 7 people voted for the change.

Yeah but Closers, as opposed to general relievers, will be taking a significant drop in value..Some of us have spent large amounts of $ investing in closers which we won't be seeing any return on. I get what you're saying, I just wish I had known beforehand.

I respect the voting procedure and I trust that the commissioners were honest in every way.. I just wanted to voice my concerns and let it be known where I stand on this change as a new member. I love baseball and obviously i'll comply with the new rules if that's what everyone wants, but I only ask that any future changes be handled in a different manner.

Relievers are still very valuable in 4x4. Just MORE relievers are valuable. There are setup men who are better than Huston Street. This format will reflect that. Too much is determined by who has how many of the 30 available closers. This is coming from someone with an above average set of closers. Trust me, it gets annoying.

Tell that to Jonathan Papelbon (not great), Greg Holland, Billy Wagner, Trevor Rosenthal, Kenley Jansen, Aroldis Chapman, Huston Street, and on and on and on.. Every category is weighed equally.. After the league change, one whole category will be directly lost/impacted. Had I known, in the offseason, that this category had the potential of going away, I would have approached things differently. Again, i'm not arguing the value of each category, just the failure to inform.
