Good point. Another outlier is Javier Baez. He lowered is k rate to 23% last year but had his worst season ever.

Well judge had a 44% k rate in his first major league stint and still carried over a 30%k rate through his first two seasons.
-
An idiot could be both. Regarding Wood, nice swing, obvious power, reminds one of Judge, except for the 33%k rate which he has to bring down significantly if he is going to be an above average major leaguer. Chourio is getting pushed way too quickly imo. Perhaps Holliday as well. They should both start out in AAA but probably won't.

You can not be a perennial anything and also a novice. Shota, hunter brown and Xander are all for sale for younger players of similar value. The only 3 minor leaguers i do think are at that value are Jackson Holiday, Jackson Chourio and James Wood.
-
Don't you love it when perennial last place novices lecture proven veteran owners? BTW, Bogaerts in not a "steal" at $22. Good value, but not a "steal".

Proven players like those you listed all go well above 30+ in a draft. You cut Bogaerts at 40 (I do think I got him at a steal price and his value went up now that is going to play 2b) I do think he is top tier. Polanco got cut at 15, Meyer got cut at 5 and Heim was my keeper but I don't think he is a starting catcher on any team besides cubs.
-
By that logic Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Jose Ramirez, Bryce Harper, etc. are not proven players because they got cut.
-
No it definitely does not. Getting cut before draft does not mean they are not proven players. It meant the original owners didn't think they were worth keeping at $40 and $15, but we as a league in the auction decided they are still worth roughly $22 and $11.
-
It means they were not valued enough to keep this year, which goes against cubs proven players intitial comment.
-
Not sure why them being pickups in the draft would have any affect on what they are worth.
-
Bogaerts I think is a tier above polanco who is a tier above meyer (even though meyer has a super high ceiling)
-
I do like him but on a trade value front I don't think Heim is a starting catcher on anytime right now. I like them too but Polanco, Bogaerts, and Meyer were all pickups in the draft.
-
I will say Polanco, Bogaerts, Meyer, and Heim for Holliday is waayyyy too much, in my opinion. The thing is Ottoneu isn't a true "Dynasty" league since there is arbitration so even the #1 prospect should not be able to fetch that much talent.
-
I think you misinterpreted a message i sent where I mentioned 1 trade then said OR Shoto. When you thought it was And shoto. I am much more likely to trade Shota Imanaga for an elite prospect but i wouldn't include someone at bogaerts level. Maybe a heim
-
It would take alot to trade Yomamoto at 32 until I see him actually play. I would only trade him for holiday if it was a 1 for 1 trade. Everyone can check Rejected trades. My first offer for holiday was Polanco, Bogaerts, and Meyer. Then I added Heim (Heim and Meyer aren't proven players imo). My alternate Offer was Bogaerts, Hunter brown and Heim.
-
Moneyballers you are not being 100% truthful. You we were talking a hell of a lot more than just Polanco and Bogaerts. I don't want to air all the details, but you know full damn well you were talking different star players for Holliday or another like prospect including but not solely Yomamoto.

Squirrels having a 700-dollar salary is only ok imo if the owner commits to sticking around the following season (Which squirrells did!). Right now my roster is not balanced with an abundance of SP's and In fielders with a shortage of OF'S and RP's. I do need to consolidate my team pre opening day, but would only offer a Bogaerts/Arenado + Hunter Brown/Polanco level for an elite ceiling player. I am interested in non elite prospects as well and would love to send multiple players for 1.
-
Cubs, I only have 1 player over 30 dollars and he is a rookie. If I offered two 40 dollar all stars for Holiday, I would be on your side. I don't think a trade toplined by Bogaerts and Polanco (with Jonah Heim or Max Meyer as possible adds) would have tipped the league. And I don't see myself going any higher for Holiday. Although he is at an elite level trade value wise, SS has to be the richest position for prospects.
-
Ah yes you are right I do remember you were one of the defenders of my handy work being fair!

Actually I wasn’t referring to you. I don’t know if you remember, I admired your work. You made like 20 trades to get where you were.

Haha Winnetka may be referring to me who in another league last year managed to rack up over $600 of salary before opening day. Though I do agree with him, if those trades are happening they definitely at least need to be shopped to give each owner a fair shot.
-
Keep in mind I have Jackson Holliday. Imagine how the competitive balance of the league will tilt if I traded him to this owner?

Not sure what particular trade is of concern but it depends on the prospect to me and who these veterans are. If it’s Wyatt Langford or Jackson Holliday giving a few veterans that are surplus may be fair for both teams since in dynasty it is not necessarily about winning this year.

Anyone trading a bunch of proven veterans for a single prospect is going to catch my wrath. I’ve been offered the same trade multiple times. It is not good for the league. I know these types of trades ruined the experience for many owners last year.

It looks like you can make a doodle for free with up to 20 date/times. If you let me know what date/times you want listed, I can try to do that and see if I can link to it here.
Personally, I should be able to make most nights work this month, but it might be hard for me to make start that is earlier than 7PM Central, and 730 or 8 would be better.
-
Does anyone have a Doodle account? I would prefer not to set one up, but if someone knows how to do it, I would greatly appreciate it.
