Alex Cora is looking like a 10-15 WAR manager.

The only thing I care about with the Red Sox is that Tanner Houck lit it up last night.

Are the Red Sox regretting the Rafaela extension yet?
-
Agree w/ u, Baz. What do we have left, like 90% of games, hundreds of IL stints, and dozens of surgeries, maybe a handful of PED suspensions? I cut Domingo German last season after a few back-to-back stinkers, and he threw a perfect game in his next outing. Its a long season with a long way to go, and anything can happen. Also, if you're thinking of cutting or looking to trade an SP, hit me up.
-
Also GMs who are okay with rebuilding without improvong (like the rockies). Mlb has to be the most uncertain success rate of high draft prospects out of all the major sports.
-
My goal every year is to get more points and or a better ranking until we win a championship. Luckily this year that is 1100+ points (i want 12+) and 11th place (10 would be great). The most frustrating gms are the desperate ones who sell the future for a short window or over buy the present to compete for wildcard spot to keep a job.
-
I thought this league was "Flags Fly Forever," not "White Flags Fly Forever." I just had a 230 point day and leapt from 7th to 3rd. Anything can happen still.
-
We are about 10% into the season, still so long to go. Unless you were already in full rebuild you shouldn't be giving up until at least May and probably not even then.
-
I am going to attempt to keep up with MDP. Anyone want Crews, Kierstad, Smith-Shawver or Drew Thorpe?

Yeah, Michigan has a huge lead right now. Going to be a buyer's market. If you are thinking of trading some high priced veterans for younger players or prospects, looking like sooner rather than later is the right time.

Michigan still is in last place for innings pitch, thats statistically insane even at this point in the season.
-
Anyone so far down they want to make an offer on a $28 Strider? Entered this team in OPL and can't afford to tie up that much salary.

Im rostering some good players, but most everyone will have some slumps/injuries. The key to it all is leaving Judge on the bench for today's doubleheader....
-
M.D.P. is blowing all of us out of the water so far. He must have the highest ppg+ppi in all of Ottoneu FGS.

Niv is on this episode of Rates and Barrels at 52:14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeVVVyot0vY
-
I think it was aired on the 13th. It was just a mention near the end of the show.
-
Which episode was it?

I was painting a wall and listening and heard that and nearly dropped my paint lol
-
I listen to Rates and Barrels but I have missed the last two eps, I will go back and listen to them soon.
-
Do any of you listen to Rates and Barrels either on YouTube or The Athletic? There was a mention of out league, not just Ottoneu but Flags Fly Forever. Apparently Buxton does a podcast with the guest who was on yesterday's episode.

Yeah that's a pretty bold take... think I gotta side with Winnetka on this one. Don't think he is overrated and definitely was nowhere close to bad.
-
Why don't you look it up before you make yourself look dumber?
-
Beane had i think 9 seasons to build a team before Andrew Friedman took over a losing record small budget team. How does the rays record compare to the As during the 8ish year period when both were active GMs? Bad might be harsh because of low expectations but he is over rated.
-
Bad GM? How many divisions did the A's win? What was their budget relative to other teams?
-
"It would have been cool if we'd actually won," former A's third baseman Eric Chavez said. "Then it would be a really interesting movie."
-
When i named my team i didn't realize the extent of how bad of a gm (and player) Billy Beane was. He only had 1 playoff series win as a gm and a negative war as a player. I will be renaming my team
-
What could go wrong?
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Betts will be the team's shortstop moving forward, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
-
That looks like a very, very close race with many teams in it.
-
Yikes! I just put some prospects on the market and i am looking for young starting bats or a closer

Alright everyone got my proejctions. These are based on ATC Projections for players. These assume every team gets 162 games at each position and 1500 innings pitched. For any teams (I think only 2 had this problem) that didn't have the players to fill 162 games at a position, I gave you 3.8 P/G from a "replacement" player. If you want to know any extra info on your teams projection, or see your projections for something other than ATC, or anything like that let me know!
-
I watched Salas some this Spring, way too young, way overmatched thus far. Padres are pushing him too fast. He should be in A ball, let him dominate before you promote him. What is the hurry?
-
I think he looks like a fine prospect and perhaps someday may deserve that ranking, but he is a long way from deserving that. I could go all day in the flaw of these rankings. Salas and Basallo are ridiculously too high. Jenkins should be in the top 10, etc.
-
Not even his ceiling, before he reaches major league capability.

I am an east coaster and a Yankees fan but it sure seems to me that Spencer Jones has a couple years before he reaches his ceiling.

Now that Spencer Jones has been cut I can rip on his ranking in FGs. Another East Coast bias prospect ranking, how the hell do they have him ranked 15th, I’m not sure he belongs in the top 100 yet.
-
My projections are coming out too high for my team.
-
Let me have this small window of hope.
-
Bold to assume Buxton will start enough games to get his eligibility back before he gets hurt again.
-
My lineup set - a little funky since I’m waiting on Buxton to regain OF and for Lux to get SS but there she be.
-
Also set, curious to see how it looks. Thanks.

Got my lineup set, will be curious to see how my squad projects.
-
Also, starting on projections for our league... if you haven't set your lineup, doing so makes it easier for me to run projections for your team.
-
The funny thing is he is chasing pitches outside of the zone just as much as he always has but he is swinging at pitches in the zone less, and swinging at meatball pitches way less.
-
Yeah the league realized they could just stop throwing Baez strikes. In turn, Baez decided to stop swinging as much which actually hurt him. He used to just swing all the time and so would do damage when he did get a meatball pitch. Now he gets less meatball pitches because of pitchers adjusting and when he does get them he is swinging at them less because he is being more passive.
