Hello Gentlemen. I will not be able to return to the league next season. Please feel free to post my team at your earliest convenience. Thank you

There is a simple remedy to prevent the situation that just occurred, that i was a part of. And its something i proposed in the past when it was Au Shizz doing what i just did. That thing is imposing an in season salary cap of…$475 or $500 to make these types of trades harder. I dont remember if it was voted down or ignored.
But palffy was out of contention. In my opinion everyone should have been sending him these type of offers, inquiries. I dont know whether others were
-
Just my two cents, since I looked pretty hard at that trade and considered hitting the veto button, which I have never done. I looked at the fact that I have Betts on a team in a 3 OF league and he is on my bench. Therefore, he has very little trade value at his current price. I asked at what I would offer for Betts as a short-term rental at that price and it was an OF4 type and a mid-level prospect. Betts is a stud but he is not right health-wise (shoulder?). Ultimately, I was OK with it.

I had acquired Mookie just a few months earlier, when it was expected he would return superstar value for the year, for Hiura (now in the minors) and Jimenez (who was already hurt and out for the year), in the exact same present-for-future-value trade model as the one that was recently completed.
-
I don't think I'm going to convince you otherwise, so this is more for everyone else. I traded 100 games of Mookie - who is not keepable at that price and is playing like an OF4 – for one of the top prospects in the game who is near the majors...after I fell behind by a full 40 roto points. In a keeper league you "compete" in a multitude of ways, including by preparing your team for the future.
-
Next year you can find another player. That last set of trades was nothing short of bullshit. 2 months into the season , you gut your team in a return that is far from fair. If you can't compete don't play. This ruins the season for other players , when you hand over top players for a small return. So if this is the way this league is run , I will make the most lopsided trades imaginable . Mookie Betts for Hunter Greene at 8 dollars is a bullshit trade.

The co-commissioners put our (virtual) heads together and we're fine with reversing this transaction. Entry Velo is cool with it too (and indeed, kind of saw it coming). Before we get to it, are there any objections?
-
I started to send you a note yesterday to see if you meant to drop Franco. Given the stature of Franco, we could take a league vote to decide on reversing.

Yikes! I just realized I cut Franco instead of Adames. Well I guess someone will be lucky!
-
Happy opening day, everyone. Here's to a season of cutthroat competition, shocking trades and Shakesperean reversals of fortune. Good luck!
-
Good draft last night. Thank you everyone. It was nice to have all 12 teams live drafting. That does not always happen in all leagues.
I am commissioner of another league separate from this. We do it on Yahoo. It is kind of an Ottoneu light. We have an auction draft, keepers, salary increases, etc. We recently lost 2 owners and we are looking to replace them. Please send me a message if you are interested and I can give you more details. Thanks.
-
Draft tonight! Don't forget. Good luck everyone.

Thanks, glad to be here.

I’m good with that

I always forget that point. I read everyone else's messages as 8pm EST, and that's what I meant on 3/17. Is that an issue for anyone?
-
I can do Wednesday March 17th. To clarify is that 8pm EST?

That date is fine with me, but just so everyone knows it is St Patrick's day. Not sure if people have plans.
-
The co-commish team batted around the idea of our usual early draft vs. the pandemic-related uncertainty of 2021. Does anyone have an issue with 8pm on Wednesday, March 17?
-
Evening drafts are best, preferred after 8pm. Can't do 1st and 3rd Monday before 9pm.

Later in March is when I would prefer. Weeknights would be the best for me, maybe around 8. Kids should be in bed by then.

I can do most times but would prefer evenings after 6 pm EST or 8 pm EST if the date is a Thursday. I'd prefer to avoid the first two weekends in March.
-
I am fairly open for times/days. I would prefer to draft sooner than later.

We are targeting mid-ish March for the auction. What dates and times work best for you guys?
-
Make your last-minute moves folks. The keeper deadline is in four days.
-
Hi everyone - Make sure today or tomorrow to make your arbitration elections. It's a big part of ensuring competitive balance.
-
Arbitration will last from Oct 15 to Nov 14, after which there is a window where players can be traded or cut free of penalty. That lasts until late January, I believe. Does that all make sense?
-
Each year, all rostered players in the majors get $2 added to their salary and each player in the minors gets $1 added. This has already happened. Starting tomorrow, you will be given a budget to allocate money onto other people's teams – which is one of ottoneu's most useful and fun features. It is key to the league's competitive balance, so everyone make sure to do it
-
how does the arbitration process work in this league? increase dollar value or vote off?

Congrats Next Year. I tried hard to catch up, but just not enough time (and not enough pitching). Looking forward to the trade season to fill some holes in my rosters.

Agreed. Good season. I did not want to do it at first, but now I am upset it is over. Way too short. Thanks for the competition.
-
Congrats – once-a-frickin-gain - on the continued run of dominance regardless of whether it's last year or this year and quite possibly next. I didn't have a lot of hope for fantasy baseball this season, but it turned out to be pretty damn fun. The league was very competitive, with tons of good owners fighting hard for favorable trades and waiver gems. Thanks to all and looking forward to finally crushing Next Year next year.
