Bombo- this will get corrected and you were apparently the only person to notice or report it, so thank you for that!
-
I posted the question and will let you know. Note, anyone can do that - it’s not one of my powers as commissioner.
-
I have not. I was waiting to see if it would correct. Feel free to use your powers or request, if necessary. Thanks.

Bombo - from what you described you should not be getting points from Loup because you had rostered him as an RP. Have you checked on the community board? If not I can post something there
-
Question: My point total yesterday appears to include points Loup earned. He pitched the first inning of the second game of their DH. I had him in my lineup, but at RP. Oddly, in my today’s stats, it shows zero points, as he wasn’t slotted as a starter. But again, it seems to have included his 9.4 for the first inning in the standings total. Will that correct? Has anyone else has this happen?

FYI All games on MLB.TV this weekend are free to watch. Blackouts for local markets still apply.

With the HR Derby tonight, it reminds me of when I attended the first one ever at the old MetroDump in 1985. For the younger guys, that one was held in the afternoon, wasn’t televised and there were about 5K of us in the stands that day. And, I think it was free. I remember Bruno (Tom Brunanski) winning it for the AL at the end. Anyone remember the AS game the next night, when Nolan Ryan knocked Rickey Henderson on his ass? Yep, they were still playing to win back then.

Thanks Bombo. Actually went to my first game in person since 2019 to see the St Paul Saints. Best of luck to all as we move into the second half.
-
Happy 4th of July to my fellow league mates! Hope you all have a happy and safe day and we all score some points. Here’s to a healthier second half for all our guys!

No points were awarded b/c Gonsolin pitched in relief and was rostered as a starter, and opposite for Gonzalez
-
I posted the question and will let you know what I hear back
-
I don’t know but yes we should post that on the Community site and Niv will respond.
-
Anyone know what’s going on — Ottoneu did not recognize Tony Gonsolin or Victor Gonzalez stats from yesterday. Is this a reportable glitch?

Just so I don’t seem heartless, I had to cut a player to add Cabrera. Unfortunately, Naylor is going to be out quite a while, so that only makes sense for me.

By the way, I was at the Sox game last Monday, when my guy Glasnow tore his UCL. We were enjoying the game and then, “hey, Glasnow is out.” What the? Oh. Well, that sucks, but par for the course in 2021. I hadn’t been to Sox Park in about three years and they’re really made some nice improvements! The outfield area is a lot more active now and the facing outside the park looks pretty cool. We tried to stop at a sports bar a couple blocks away and it was jammed up on a Monday night.

Yep, just like the old Blood, Sweat and Tears song, I can’t quit him. He got in my head. I need help. Is Jason Hammel still available? I’m gonna go get him, too. All is forgiven!

Bombo - did you put Joe Ross up for auction? You just can’t quit him, can you?
-
I just realized that I have 20 pitchers on my roster. Of course, eight of them are on the IL, (now 14 overall) so I’m a few innings behind. Thankfully, Doc Roc only has control over Rogers, so most of the starters will pitch more than four innings.

At the moment, the top four teams are within 20 points of each other. Our standings have entered Crazytown.

Starting June 14th, umpires will start randomly checking pitchers 6-8 times per game for sticky substances. It will be done either as pitchers come out to start an inning or at the end of an inning. Plan accordingly.

Interesting, if long-winded article on substances and spin rates for a couple prospect pitchers and a desk jockey: https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2180019/baseballs-dirty-little-secret-is-out-we-decided-to-experiment

Both Rosenthal and Heyman tweeted about this last night, if you haven’t seen it. Cole’s numbers were down last night and he ended up giving up five runs. Makes me wonder about a few of my guys. We’ll see what happens.

Interesting to see going forward if MLB now directs the umpires to crack down on the pitchers cheating. Pretty strong video and analytic information on guys like Bauer, Karinchak, Cole, Darvish and even DeGrom already. I was watching a Giants game last week and not really looking for it, but Tyler Rogers repeatedly kept going to the brim of his cap, such that it caught my eye. LOL, as they say, if you ain’t cheatin’, you ain’t tryin’.

Nah, just a plain old re-auction cut after 30 days to shed salary. However, the first time I cut him it was a spite cut

Is Colome a spite cut, Calvin?

I think Bombo falls under both a fictional character and Hall of Famer. Just for his name alone!

Or after a retired Hall of Famer!
-
That's why you name your team after a fictional legend of the game!
-
As Commissioner, I must remind owners that it is an unwritten rule of the league (per TLR) that if you cut your namesake player, you must change your team name.
-
Listening to the Padres broadcast. They just said Tatis Jr, since coming off the COVID DL is 11/14, with four doubles and four homers. LOL. Acura, Trout, Vlad Jr all good choices, but I think this kid should be the face of baseball.

As Casey Stengel said back in 1961 while managing the expansion NY Mets, can anyone here play this game??? I'm wondering that tonight. I have two guys playing, two! LOL. What is going on??? Yes, I know light schedule, but c'mon.

Bombo - unfortunately I cannot do anything to change a lineup. This is an unfortunate glitch.
-
not in the starting lineup are moved to my bench, Larnach was moved there. Commish, is there a way you're able to move him into one of my open OF spots? Or is this a live and learn deal? Thanks. Anyway, thought I'd broadcast this to our league, since I was not aware of it.

Ok, found there's a glitch with Ottoneu and players making their MLB debut. I had put Larnach in my starting lineup, as he was showing starting everywhere I looked. But in our lineups page, there was (and still is) a big red X next to his name, even though he did start today. I posted on Slack and also in Community. What I'm seeing is that for some reason, any player (pitcher or otherwise) making his MLB debut isn't recognized as starting. Because I have it set up where players (con't)

The pitcher didn’t cover third is what caused it.

Gotta love the shift, when a runner can score from first on an infield single. Did the batter get an RBI?

As the first month of the season closes, there's only about a 100 point difference between first and fifth place as of right now. And others within close range beyond that. I don't recall in our ten years being so bunched up at the top after one month. Good deal, should make for a fun rest of year.

I don’t know what’s worse, when your pitcher gives up 4 dongs or your benah hits 4. In my defense, Garver, Polanco and Soler couldn’t hit a beach ball the past few weeks. Either way, it drives you crazy. The love/hate relationship you have with your fantasy team.

I really have to start checking my lineup more frequently. Missed Gallen’s great start and Turner’s 2 HR game. Oh well - not in this to win. It’s fantasy baseball, after all

Colome gets the mid-game chop. Josh Naylor approves.
