Ugh, I forgot you drove on the left too in the land of sheep.
-
I'm scared to find out which is the depraved part of the other's psyche. Or is it like the movie Identity? We are certainly two people, one several time zones ahead of the other, who uses the metric system and drives on the left.
-
Thankfully, we definitely are.
-
I really do hope the Bottlejobs are in fact two people.
-
Just wait til I outbid my co-owner in the auction...
-
I might want a divorce from all of your lies. Plus, I keep telling you to stop using your dumb metric system! We don't do that over here. Now, go churn me 8 ounces of butter!
-
...more like (overseas) bad cop and worse cop that can't be within 200m of schools.

well, maybe I can't freeze it like i can in yahoo...but we'll do a soft freeze and ask for payment before cuts.

PS Mudhen's team is frozen so we don't get drops before we have a team committed to taking over (i.e payment)

We're really both a couple of nice blokes where one of us lives in the future who struggles with US time and US money and the other one goes on questionable traveling adventures who might need a backup owner at times. One of us thinks we always have too many prospects and one thinks we never have enough. We just tolerate each other more than anything else like a married couple stuck in its ways usually does.
-
i'm looking at it as "Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde"....it's also good cop bad cop....but same cop...just have to turn to the side

Too bad we can't tell which Manager is posting what? maybe that's something we should ask Niv about?
-
Says the guy that offered Stephenson and Mauricio to me for Devers last week... I offered better than that this here, which is why I handle trade offers! Please go back into your hole.
-
I would apologise for Ben and his trade offers - just know that I play against him in another league and suffer those offers too
-
(Co-owner escaped from his cage) That $250 league was very... people only playing with their friends. The quality of owners did not match the buy in.
-
I emailed Pepperchet and he said the "year round" baseball thing was too much for him so i'm abandoning his team ("mudhens") in case any of you want to send a friend to the team marketplace to pick it up. payment deadline is 60 days out!

I'm in $100/$75/$50 Ottoneu leagues and I don't really see a difference in terms of involvement (in those three leagues)....but I have some crossover managers between leagues too

Thank you very much for the compliment. We've actually played in the first $250 Ottoneu league. While owners were more engaged than your average league, I personally (maybe my co-owner will escape from his cage and disagree) didn't find much more movement of players and there were still teams that kinda checked out for periods when their seasons went south in a FGPTS league. Hope that helps.
-
Has anyone played in any higher entry fee leagues than this? If so, what was the activity like? Assume higher entries = more activity, but would love to hear from someone who can confirm.
-
I think we can all agree that it's a lot more fun for everyone when owners actually participate in league activities and engage/respond promptly. I think we have a sufficiently active core here, but hope we can up the standard going forward. You Spicy/Billionaire Boys have been a welcome addition to the league and appreciate that you've been stoking the hot stove this week.
-
Mudhens is just really bad at checking fantasy email/chat and figuring out arbitration. I'm pretty sure he'll be back. But trading may not be his forte (unfortunately)

We were just looking at teams to see if there was any possibilities of additional moves at this time. Is it safe to assume that Mudhens and RB Sharks are basically done? I figure the former practically is since that team hasn't been online in about three months.
-
Gotcha makes sense to not want to change anything. All good here

Also agree with Dine-Nasty that any major rule changes should be discussed and agreed upon way, way in advance as rosters are built around current rules.
-
I understand the frustration, Manfred... as was having 3 "aces" going on the same day and being forced to sit one, but that's part of the strategy. I specifically chose this league because it was set to 2 SP/day instead of caps and built my entire roster and strategy around this rule from the jump, so I'd be opposed to changing that aspect. It's a foundational league rule on the same level as H2H and FG pts. scoring.
-
And just to be clear here, the 14 starts I referred to is our keeping the 2 GS per day max (it just works out to 14 starts if everything lines up for the 7 day week). There is no 14 GS option. It's either 10 GS (you could start up to 5 on one day) or else, the 2 SP per day max (which can give you up to 14 starts)

Personally... I am new to this Game (ottoneu), as well as the scoring system... so I'd rather we put off any rule changes until after season 2... unless there is a perceived major flaw. I feel like we all signed up for this just a few months ago, and should have been aware of what we were signing up for. I'm open to discussing future rule changes... but don't think they should be reflected for season 2.
-
Well we can do 14 weekly cap. I just didn't like when Id have 5 starters all on Wednesday and my opponent had 2 Wednesday 2 Thursday. Technically I had more guys playing real games but he got the advantage just because his guys were spaced out. It's something we cant control is all

The thing about the 2 starts is that you can get 14 in a week (if you rostered enough SPs and you're lucky with some 2 start SPs that week) whereas I find myself constantly running out of starts with just 10 a week. There really are pros and cons for each, but my other two dynasties are max 10 SPs/week and I'd really like to have at least 1 2 SP starts/wk league

I like the 2 starts per day system. It is closer to a real daily baseball lineup.

Usually, the keeper deadline in Ottoneu is 1/31, so would presume it's the same. We're all for the suggested rule change, but with being new to the league, we'll do whatever the majority wants.
-
Also I had a suggested rule change. What would you all feel about changing our SP game start cap. Instead of doing a cap of two per day we do a weekly cap of ten instead(or whatever number the league agreed on). I found that if you had more than two starters going on the same day and your opponents starts were spread out over the week than they had a big advantage.

Are the Sharks and Hens still with us? Can we do a roll call or something to confirm who's coming back? I'm already paid up for the season and hope to add another trophy emoji to my team name in 2025 ;)

Hello all, I claimed the Expos team (name change incoming later) and am an Ottoneu veteran that got back into it in 2024. I have played H2H before, but not in Ottoneu. However, I don't anticipate too much of a learning curve. I usually play with a co-owner (unless we are in the same league), so I may have another person joining me pending if he wants to play some H2H. Looking forward to playing with you all! I'll take a look later to see if I have to change any arb, haha.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed my experience in the league, but I no longer have the necessary time to continue managing my team. I've completed my arbitration and I wish to abandon my team effective immediately (@The AquaSox). Good luck for the future!
-
Congrats to you as well, Dine-Nasty! Coming out of the draft I thought you were the team to beat, so it felt right that it literally played out that way for me. Great job to El Prez and Oakland as well! You guys were in a league of your own most of the season. Lesson learned for me is donโt give up on your team... I was 8-6 the week before the ASG and didnโt lose again. I guess I no longer have to feel shameful for having that trophy in my team name. ๐
Now I just need to add to
-
Congrats to Emy! This was definitely a learning experience!

Congrats to our winners, 1st place Emy, 2nd place Dine Nasty and 3rd place Oaklandโฆsuper competitive and tight matches all the way
In fact, the entire season was a dogfight as our top 4 teams built juggernauts (glad i could muster like 4 wins)
Thanks to all for making it a successful year
Please keep an eye out for arbitration, which Iโll post more about here shortly
