• I'm realizing that cutting $1 players actually put me in a worse situation since they don't free up any cap and now I need an extra $1 for the open roster spot. Would it be at all possible to add the players I cut back to my roster so I can make it valid again? If that is giving a new manager too much leeway, I understand. Thanks.

• I mentioned earlier in the week that because there are several in this league new to Otto, that some transactions would be reversed with no cap penalties. I made the same type of reversal this morning. I think at this point, it's in the best interest of the league to not make any additional reverse transactions. There may be a case where a reversal is in order, but it should not be the norm. Be sure to review the rules for free agent auctions and waiver claims. I hope you understand. Thanks!

• Fishheads should be good to go. I've played Otto for several years and I'm still learning. Fishheads was in a bind and wasn't clear on how some cuts would impact his roster, so based on great advice from many on Slack, I made moves to get his team legal.
  I think Fishheads would agree that those on Otto Slack were very helpful. You can visit Slack - Otto-Baseball to see his question to the community and their suggestions/advice.

• The majority of the owners in this league are new to Otto and trying to navigate some of the rules and protocols. Fishheads is one of those new owners. He's been trying to get his roster legal, but has had some difficulty in doing so. He posted his "dilemma" on the Otto Slack channel and was given some advice on what to do. I'm working with him to get his team legal. I may be able to get this done until Tuesday.

• Thanks FB, CB and BC. I checked the forums and you were right. SP and RP designations are basically irrelevant for pitchers. You can put an RP in an SP slot and vice versa. What matters is whether the pitcher in your SP slot started the game and whether the pitcher in your RP slot came out of the bullpen. You can put any pitcher in any pitcher slot (SP or RP). So I can use Severino from day 1. Let's hope he doesn't make me regret that now.

• @Posey, you my friend are correct. If Severino is in the lineup to start and you slot him in as a SP, you will get whatever points he earns. But, if you have him slotted as a RP on your lineup and he is going to start and you don’t move him to a SP slot on your lineup, you will not accrue his points.

• @Poselicious - That is how I have always understood it. There are some pitchers that Otto will list SP/RP next to their name indicating their position. You may see this happen with Severino.
  
  As a suggestion, another great way to get timely answers and from many Otto gurus, is to in addition of posting questions here, is to post them on the Otto Slack channel. Hope that helps.

• I would like to comment on the pitching issue. Granted, I am a fan pts veteran since 2012. So I don’t know if this applies t a 5 x 5 roto league, but! If a pitcher is slated to start, his name will appear in bold letters on your roster, in clouding relief pitchers. If a reliever is to be a starter his name will also be in bold font. So, put your reliever, if you so choose, (because it may be for 1 batter up to 2 innings) into an SP slot in your lineup…

• Are you sure about that CB? The rules state that an pitcher who starts the game, but is slotted in an RP slot, will not accumulate stats. Rule f.v.B states "RP spots must be taken by pitchers who are in the bullpen in MLB games. If a player in a team's lineup RP slot does start on the day they are in the RP slot, they will not accrue statistics."

• You can just play him in an RP spot and you will still accumulate stats. It just adds some positional flexibility for your roster. So it works out in your favor.

• Thought I'd post here in case the question and subsequent answer are helpful for anyone else. So - Severino is currently only RP eligible, but he will presumably start games. Pitcher stats don't accumulate if you put an RP in a SP slot or a SP in an RP slot. So does this mean that I can't use Severino until his 6th start (when he will gain SP eligibility)?
