Analysis: Finnegan made his first appearance in a week, as a bout of shoulder fatigue prompted the Nationals to give him some rest. The right-hander might have been a candidate to pitch earlier in the series, but a 9-1 loss Tuesday and a 9-0 win Wednesday presented no high-leverage opportunities. Thursday's appearance was fairly pressure-free as well, coming in the bottom of the 10th inning after Washington put up seven runs in the top of the frame. Finnegan should continue to dominate save opportunities for Washington after converting 15 of 18 chances prior to his brief absence, although his name will likely circulate in trade rumors once again this summer with the Nats far from playoff contention.
