Welcome Jeremy. Glad to have you aboard!

hey guys, I'm jeremy and I'm new to the league. I'm taking over I maeda a mistake

Hi Everyone. Glad to join the league. Instead of spamming everyone with trades to get Bauer off my team, I figured I'd post here. If you are interested at all, and you'd like to roll the dice on whether he comes back or not, send me some offers. I am not a fan of his. any reasonable offer considered. Especially interested in RP or back of rotation SPs . Thanks

We have found another owner to fill the Kuhl as a Cucumber team. Let's welcome Andrew to the league! Still looking for at least one more owner.
-
Arb results are in.
We are able to trade until the end of January. We also have to the end of January if you want to make any roster cuts before the draft. I don't believe there is a Cap Penalty for these cuts.
Reminder: the player voted off is a Restricted Free Agent for you. When that play comes up for bid at the auction you will get a $5 refund if you win the bid. For example, if I win Juan Soto for $76 he will appear on my roster for $71 and the $5 will be put back in my availabl

We have a new owner taking over for the Sod Poodles. From everyone I have heard from we are looking for two more. I am still waiting on one owner to get back to me. I believe the league will be a go for this year. Thanks to everyone for getting back to me. Enjoy the year.

I see we are down to 5 teams yet to vote. It takes about 10 minutes to make your picks. Thank You for your time.

I’ll be back next year

Arbitration was pretty easy, just tough to choose who to vote offI Definitely takes some time to research, but it was interesting and fun to do--glad I got my first one under my belt. Glad to see you on here Norm C! Good luck all-I'm anxious to see how the votes end up-good luck all!

Hey guys. Just logging in for the first time in five months. Very sorry. Had a kid in the hospital for a significant portion of the year beginning in June. I did just make Perham Northsiders a commish.

The arb process is pretty simple. Click on Arb Voting. Bring up a team and vote for a player to be removed from that team. Go to next team and do the same.
Consider the following when casting your vote:
1. The player with the most value/surplus.
2. The player that you want available in the auction.
3. The best player on the team.
If you want a player back in the auction, the best way is to hope that they are voted off and become an RFA.

4 days left for arbitration- Go to the league page and click on Arb Voting. Please vote!

Here is a little blurb I found in the Community forum. (Not sure the links are active but you should be able to copy the address into your browser)
This is a must read resource for everyone new to ottoneu arbitration or veterans looking for strategy tips all in one place: https://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/ottoneu-arbitration-omnibus-iv/ In addition, here is a podcast episode we recorded last October detailing arbitration: http://www.podcastgarden.com/episode/ep-2-arbitration-preview_62963

I’m sure eventually I’ll figure it out! 🤔😆
-
I have read up on the arbitration and definitely want to play again next year, but I’m just not 100% clear on what I’m supposed to do-
-
Arbitration starts tomorrow so even if anyone is thinking about not playing it would be pretty cool if you could participate in that for the health of the league. That way our league is more appealing to anyone considering jumping in later.

I could be back. It was interesting and now I know more of how it works. Knowing guys in A-AAA is a bit out of my league. Thanks for a good year though guys.
-
Perham plans on being back. Gotta run through an off season and see how this works out.
-
Hey everyone, curious to know who is planning g on coming back and renewing for next year? If everyone is back I'm in too but year 2 tends to be the make or break for a lot of leagues so hoping people had fun and are interested in running back now that everyone got a taste of ottoneu. Either way, fun times playing with you all.

Thank you Perham! It came down to the last game on Sunday and I only won by 10 points! Great battle—-I really enjoyed the entire season and look forward to playing again next year.
-
Congrats to AttackThe Baseball. Well played! Great decisions last week on the pitchers. I enjoyed this year. Hope to see everyone back next year.
-
It is great to see the top two team battling it out. Last week the point difference was 2.03. Just keep it up for the home stretch guys!

Cap does not roll over to next year. Your players if you choose to keep them will be kept at their current value though so you'll have to choose if you want keep them or let them go but yes there will be another suction next year for all non kept players. Every league does an "arbitration" to figure out how keepers are handled. Some leagues allocate extra $ to players to ensure teams pay an extra price to keep players and some leagues due a vote off. We are a vote off which I have nev

Hello league. I have a question for the veterans of this league. Do the cap penalties (or anything for that matter)that you incur this season have any bearing on next season? Next season do we start completely from scratch with the Auction Draft again? Thanks
-
If anyone is interested in working out a trade, I have a good deal of prospect capital and could really use some relief pitching. Let me know.

Very nice, for a rookie 🤣. He will be an exciting player to watch.

pretty nice start for Franco

LOL. Always hope everyone has fun when they get together.
-
Thanks, that was easy. This Mills guy takes back all the bad things he’s ever said about Perham 🤪. It is good to see everyone helping out. Now, who do I cut to bid on Albies 🤔
-
Near the top of the lineup page there is a link for "Two-way players require extra steps." Since Cronenworth is pitcher eligible he is treated as a two-way player. Hope that helps.
-
Why can I not put Cronenworth into a positional spot yet? Seems strange to me. In one area I look up, he comes up as a pitcher? Not sure of how long they need to play in one position to become eligible. Still trying to figure things out, like most of us, if you could not tell from my first message attempt 😁. Thanks
-
Cronenworth

I agree with KYKopperHeads; it is frustrating to do some research and then lose a guy on the blind bid process. But the Vickrey auction system is supposed to give a truer value of the players. I guess I need to spend a little more. ;)
I have lost a couple of guys, but I enjoy the process. Just something to get used to.
I am glad most of us are rookies to this league as we learn together. It has been enjoyable so far.
-
From what I can tell, the highest bid gets the player. Once you place a player up for nomination, you can change what your highest bid will be. I'm indifferent with the process. On one hand, I do like that its not the one who is the fastest to the waiver wire is the one who gets the player. Looking back, it would have been nice to save a little more salary cap at the end of the draft. Two weeks in, its been a fun season!
-
*wish there was an app
-
When you nominate a FA, I guess there is no way of telling if you are outbid? The highest bid gets the player once the waiver period is over, correct? I love the league but don’t like how you nominate players based on your research and the just bring them to everyone else’s attention and then lose the player without realizing you have been outbid. It’s going to take a bit to get used to. Having fun with the league, but also with there was an app.
-
I played Grandal at 1B, he was C in the box score and I received the points earned for that day.
-
Maybe a dumb question...do the players need to play the EXACT position I have them starting in to get points? Example...Chris Taylor is eligible for 2B, SS and OF. If he plays in OF in real life, but I have him slotted to 2B, do I still get the points?
-
...hoping someone grabs him and I get that $ back or I can then roster that player at the lower cost. If a player gets hurt you can keep doing this to get your $ back...auction for him then cut him again.

I cut the player because I over spent in the draft and wanted more $ to spend through out the year. When you cut a player you save half the money you spent in the draft (ie: 14 becomes 7 - 15 becomes 8). If someone claims the player in waivers then they assume 100% of the cost. If no one claims the player anyone can start an auction for that player at the 50% value. I can not start the auction for that player for 30 days though. If after 30 days nobody has done that I can start an auction...
