As you can see I’m clearly ready to deal, still have arenado and machado to move.
-
I have one guy I am contacting first that brew gave me a line on, then Chico’s guy if needed after that. I will wait a bit to hear from Betts but Shorebirds is the one opening so far.
-
Hey commish- did you hear from Wall Street? I think he's the one that didn't complete arbitration and I also think he was pretty absent for significant periods of time last season as well...
-
I found an owner for the vacant team. Ill get his info to you as soon as I can commish.

I’m down for a live auction, I did one in another league last year and it was a blast
-
Oh, and please message me if you have any questions between now and January 31st about the keeper deadline.
In general, you'll want to be cutting players to get below the $400 cap budget. Then all free agents as of Feb 1 will go into the draft pool for our 2022 draft.
We will have to discuss if we want to try and do an online live draft (which would take approx. 3-4 hours) or if we want to do a slow draft again like we did in our first year. So send your thoughts out
-
Keeper deadline is January 31st. By then, you need to cut anyone that you don't want to carry into next season. Sometime between Feb 1 and start of season, we will have our auction draft for any free agents.
Between now and then players can now be cut and traded. So fire up your trade blocks and get ready to make moves!

Congrats on completing our first year of Arbitration! We had 11/12 allocate their funds, which is pretty darn good for a 1st year league. We are still looking for someone to take over a (very good?) Shorebirds roster for next year.
A few Arb Notes:
Your teams most "punished" by arbitration were:
$28 to John Jay
$26 to Hub City
$25 to Legends and Love Supreme
The players who saw the highest salary increases were:
Vlad Jr., Austin R

That's too bad that shorebirds is leaving after just one season. He was an active member. Let's hope we can find someone. I may have a buddy that would be interested in taking over. I'll try speak to him today.
-
Hey all, Shorebirds is going to be leaving the league, unfortunately. If anyone knows anyone who might be interested in taking over his team, shoot me a message. Figured I would open it up here before going to the forums to find a replacement.
-
Hmm. Really good point! If anyone plans on exiting the league, please let me know so that we can find a replacement. But I am hoping everyone is ready to go for season 2 or Erebor!
-
That's great news Legends! Happy someone is taking over and I think you will follow up right where we left off. I'm guessing everyone is returning? It was a really fun and active first year. Looking forward to many more.
Cheers!!!
-
Hey all. Just wanted to send a message that I am taking over the commish role for the league. Thanks to Greenman for putting together a fun league with a fun first season. If you have any questions about the off-season, shoot me a message. Beyond that, a reminder that arbitration has a deadline a few days away! So let me know if you have questions about allocating your funds. And remember, for those who have already done it, you can still move funds around before the deadline. Onward!
-
Hey, Ereborians! Congratulations on making it through the league's first season. Also, a big congratulations to Arthurian on the win and setting the bar at a nearly unreachable level. I have a few notes for you. First, arbitration has started. Second, I'm stepping down as commissioner, and I need one of you to step up and take the reins. In a nutshell, I've gotten a new state, new home, new job, and a new baby all since opening day. MSG me if you're willing to take over!
-
Just wanted to say it was an awesome season, all. I feel like next season should be even more fun because we will all have a few players that have become “our guys” and drafting to fill the holes is always a fun aspect. Good luck to everyone in arbitration soon. May your dollars be well spent to make your opponents wince. :D
-
A huge congrats to Arthurian Legends- absolutely wiping the floor with all of our asses- and all without the services of deGrom. Very impressive! And thanks to the commish for a great inaugural season!
-
Well my offense isn’t struggling tonight…
-
Good luck to you too
-
Yeah it was fine eventually. Good luck to my other semi finalists! Though if I am being honest, I hope I win my game. :)
-
It just takes a while, did the same thing last week.
-
Our playoffs don’t seem to have updated. I can’t set my lineups for today yet.
-
Playing multiple games just takes the variance of the schedule out it. You still get the head to head aspect of it you just play multiple teams. I have done it in football where you play every team every week and that was still infantry better than total points.

I’m not sure I like doing multiple games a week. Seems like it could remove some decision making in lineups. I’m also not sure why you wouldn’t just do a straight points league at that point. I’m open to discussion though if someone thinks differently
-
I agree that multiple games a week could be a good thing. Would make things a little more even and the best team will definitely come out on top at the end of the year. Not saying you wouldn't of this year Legend, as you absolutely dominated and put on a clinic. Something we can discuss in the off season for sure.
-
The more I think about 6 the more it makes sense and not just for my position. Just not usually a fan of half the teams making it but the way the playoffs work with byes I like it.
-
I like 6 because it lets more teams try to push to be competitive. I also think going to a multi game schedule could be a good idea even though I am quite sure the schedule variance helped me a lot this year. :D. I’m okay either way. Worth discussing in the off-season probably?
-
Aw ok Haha. Yeah I think 6 is a good number.
-
I did. Total assumption because 6 seems like a lot for 12 team league but I like it (obviously :)
Only thing I would change for next year is we play 3-4 games a week to take away this schedule variance.
-
*top
-
You thought it was too 4?
-
Just realized 6 teams make the playoffs I thought I was fighting for my playoff life this week.
-
Holy crap, I won one.

August 31 I think
-
When is the trade deadline?
-
Yeah that is some really terrible luck. I wish you the best AFTER this week. :)
-
Talk about highs and lows! Was feeling good after trading for Glasnow, and now both he and Bieber are gone... We shall see if stocking up on SP's pays off...
-
If anyone is looking for some solid/cheap infield help, let me know. Not looking to deal a star, but have some surplus at 2b, SS, 3b.
-
Chicobrewers-Shorebirds closest match of the week and ended with a comeback. Now I get Hub City who I would have lost to by almost 200 points- cant really hype this mismatch. should be fun
-
Basement Series. I'm sure I'll lose.

Shorebirds and Chico brewers separate by less than a point. This matchup has not disappointed!
-
Hahaha best of luck boys!
-
1-7 Shorebirds vs 0-8 Chicobrewers starts tomorrow. Anticipation is building for this clash of Titans!!
-
Trade Block is updated after some big moves. If you're interested, let me know.
-
I "only" have 7 lol. Seems like guys have been dropping like flies this year.
-
I have 11 guys on the IL right now. Can anyone top that? It's....really pleasant to have my team logo be an ambulance.
-
Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those up
-
I keep missing out $1 bid to tie breakers y’all are killing me.
