Speaking as your commissioner, there's nothing worse than being in a dead, inactive league. That is not the Friendly Confines. 11 of our 12 members managed their team on a daily to almost daily basis. That makes us a strong, active league. Let's keep being active throughout the off season and into next year.
Arbitration starts soon and runs about a month. Then it's trading season again. Let's keep this a strong and active league.

Those who responded all seemed good with Saturday March 26th for our auction draft. I did change the time to 7:00 pm eastern time to accommodate. This years draft won't take as long as last years did, so I'm considering a later start time to accommodate our overseas managers. Hey Friendly Confines members. Don't forget that you only have 3 days remaining (Jan 31st) to renew your team for the coming season. So far we only have one team that has renewed. Just to let the league know - I emailed the four managers who did not participate in arbitration and they have until this weekend to respond. Otherwise, their teams will be abandoned and up for grabs for new owners to manage. If anyone knows of anybody who wants to take over one of those teams, let me know asap.

As you all know, arbitration is over and it is now trading season. Don't forget to get your team into a legal state by Jan 31st so you can participate in our league's auction draft (date to be determined). Also, it looks like we need 4 new owners for the ones who didn't participate in arbitration. If anyone knows of anybody who wants to take over one of those teams, let me know asap, so that I can get them signed up and our league full again.

Ok, leaguemates. Arbitration has opened. Use 1-3 dollars per other's teams players. Make sure you use all 25 dollars allocated to you, and add to all other teams, otherwise none of your arbitration will count. Example: use $3 on 7 teams and $1 on the other 4 teams. Hope all will participate. You have 1 month to complete arbitration, then it's trading season. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hey guys. Looks like our default salary increases (players pay raises) should happen by this weekend and arbitration will begin on Friday October 15th. I believe arbitration lasts a month and then it's open trading season.

Good question. You will need to have open roster spots to bid on players. However many open spots you have after selecting your keepers will be the number of players you can complete your roster with.

Do we need to have open roster spots to bid on players in the winter draft? Or do we bid and if we win, we free up the roster spots after the draft?

Also, of note, during the off-season there is no auctions/waivers. Trading-yes, waivers-no. When you drop a player from your roster in the off-season, it will be penalty free. That means you will receive the full price back on the players that are dropped. Whereas, during the season, you receive only half the amount of the players worth unless another team picks up such player.
Any questions or concerns regarding the off-season, don't hesitate to ask.

There's only about a month left in the season. Once the season is over, the off-season activities begin. So don't forget to check on the league occasionally. Ottoneu will give our players a pay raise. Then comes arbitration, where we put money on other teams players. (Teams will be locked at season's end through arbitration). After arbitration, it's trading season, until our rosters need to be finalized and legal for next year's auction draft (usually the end of January for legal rosters).
