• I disagree. If the whole point is to mimic owning an MLB team, when they cut MILB players they don’t count towards the luxury tax or their official payroll. It’d like this in that case. Also the $1 or $0 doesn’t matter except for the person who would get the cap penalty.

• Why would that matter? If a guy who is cut from an MILB squad subsequently gets picked up via an auction, it will obviously be for $1 or more. It’s not like there’s going to be some pool of players out there that are available for free.
