If Mancini is still a FA after 30 days, TJGR can start a FA bid for Mancini again at $9. If he's the only bidder, he can then cut him again and get another $4 back and Mancini then only counts $5 in dead money. 30 days later, he can do the same thing, and get $2 back and have only $3 in dead money and so forth until another team bids on him, he gets down to $1 in dead money or the season ends. So, if you stay involved & are patient, you can get a lot of your "dead" money back o
-
30 days after you waive a player, you can bid on him in free agency again where either he goes to another team and you get your money back, or if you get him, you can then cut him again and get 1/2 back again. So, for Mancini, if he's waived, TJGR get $8 back. If a team claims him, he gets the remaining $9 back. If he isn't claimed, he becomes a FA. If a team starts bidding on him, once he goes to a team, TJGR would get the $9 back.
-
Just for the record, this was a hard No for me and it wasn't close. I won't bore everyone with the multiple reasons since its been decided, but, for those who are new to Otto, you do get half (rounded down for odd numbers) the value back when you waive a player. If the players gets claimed or is later goes to another team in free agency, you get the rest of your money back.
-
Ottoneu cap is $400, not adjustable by individual leagues. I think we have enough opposition to not go further with the idea. Everyone's responses and opinions are greatly appreciated! See you all tonight, 9:30PM sharp!

Not a fan of a free waive, would rather see a cap increase if that were possible. $10, $15 maybe for everyone? Provides a little (standardized) relief for those dealing with injuries or cap space without erasing the past.
-
I would vote against a round of cuts. I say this as owner of a $17 Mancini who is now out undefined due to undisclosed personal illness that sounds a lot like cancer.

Kinda leaning toward a no here as well. We already have a limited amount of time to draft, don't feel like adding players back to the pool helps that issue.
-
Ehhh, I don't know if I like that. I know I'm not the one most affected by injuries, but I don't like the idea of anything that revises history like that. We all had the same information available at the time of auction. It was obviously incomplete information, but that's always the case.
-
I'm good with it too
-
I can support that, especially since we drafted early and a number of guys have gotten hurt since then
-
Buyers remorse, spent too much, injuries. Just an idea...

Why would we do that?
-
Interesting concept: Do we want to allow a penalty free round of cuts prior to tomorrow nights session? We’re in a unique position, being mid-draft and on a break. Thoughts?

Thanks guys. Looking forward to it!

I'm good with 930 pm but would echo that we start promptly at 930 pm so we can get as many players as possible in.
-
Good for me
-
We can do 9:30pm EST. We have to start right at 9:30 and I’d like to go to at least 11:30. Reason being is I doubt we get everyone together for another session so whatever we don’t finish will be done via waivers.

Hate to be this guy, but any chance we can push back till ~9:30 EST on Tuesday? Had something pop up that I can’t miss, but it’ll be over at 9:30. I can hop on and do the first 30 minutes or so from my
phone on the way home. Sorry again - I know finding times has been difficult.

Awesome! Thanks Eddie and those that compromised to make it work - smash that Nom button!

Auction finale will be Tuesday, March 10 at 9pm EST. If we can finish, we will probably have to finish via waivers because finding a common time has been very difficult. Much appreciation to those who bent schedules to get it done!

New Poll: Here's the link to the poll for selecting our next session. I'm hoping we can finish up with just 1 more. Please be as flexible as possible. I realize we all have "real lives" outside of fantasy baseball! Once we finish this, we will never have to do another one from scratch again!! Lol

I’ve created a second Doodle poll, this one includes some weekday times as well. We have some guys who have weekend conflicts and some that have weekday conflicts. Add in time zone differences....I will email the new poll. If you already responded to the first one, PLEASE respond to the second one! You can disregard the first poll.

I would also be fine with an evening. Might be difficult due to time zone though
-
I’ve asked Sean Bennis (Realmuto) to be my co-Commish. He graciously accepted. He’s the bad cop to my good cop. Don’t piss him off, his punishments for violations range from castrations to water boarding to some other really deviant shit that can’t be written here.

In the meantime, I advise everyone (especially Otto newbies) to research Ottoneu drafting, player values, etc. Read some articles (Google is your friend).

We’ll at least start with the intent on splitting it up. I’ve done one “initial” draft, we split it up. We did about 3 hours then switched it to a slow draft. I don’t want to do a slow draft because it’s a huge pain in the ass. We’ll get it done in a minimum of two sessions.

Thanks - glad to see I’m not the only Ottoneu rookie here. Excited to dive in

Thanks - I was in a league with puig and (i think) madrigal (I was Justus). is the feb 10 draft date a placeholder or is that the official date? If official I will put on calendar
