If your MiLB player gets called up and the rule is you have to add him to your team or lose your rights to him, do you still get hit with the cap penalty for the player you are dropping? Also if he gets sent back down a later, can you move him back to your MiLB squad with no cap penalty? I don't think these questions were ever answered.

That reminds me, I’m gonna try to do regular audits to make sure no MLB debuts happen unnoticed, but it would be appreciated if y’all try to keep track of your own players and let me know when one needs to be added
-
Yessir, I’ll add him to your roster
-
Hey I'm gonna call up Daniel Johnson from MiLB$0 roster as he's making his debut for the Indians tonight. This is how I make that happen yeah?
-
Woooooo lets go, pumped for the season!
-
Good luck everyone! Happy to finally see some baseball
-
I’m sticking to the standard Ottoneu rules. The only things that changed since everyone signed up are COVID related and I’ve been reminding everyone to brush up on them
-
Ok mate. Glad to know it’s “always been that way” when the season hasn’t even started.
-
Since it’s always been in the rules, I’m gonna side with no. Sorry mate
-
From Ottoneu Rules - I. Rosters, section b) part i: “ i. Functionally, this means that while teams do not need 40 players on their roster at all times, they must have at least $1 available for every free roster spot, not including extra roster spots due to a player being suspended, on the 60-day IL, on the COVID-19 IL, or opted out from the MLB season.”
-
Is there a way to undue cutting those players? My lineup is illegal because I don’t have enough money to fill 40 slots and I wasn’t aware that was necessary, so I’d rather those guys sit on my bench.
-
Please take a moment to read the newest COVID-19 update from Niv. It describes new games and IP caps and other mechanics for Ottoneu during the coolest season in history
-
He’ll be dropped after the winning auction
-
Hey Torkelson is not available for auction due to restrictions on first year MiLB until after the next MiLB draft
-
Thanks for taking on the team, Adam. Glad to have you join the league.
Alright, y'all, looking forward to some amount of baseball this year! (fingers crossed)
-
Thanks very much
-
Welcome to the league Adam
-
Alright everyone! New owner alert: welcome Adam to the league, he'll be taking over the probably to-be-renamed Detroit Ghosts. Give him a good welcome!
-
Also, please review the new Corona Update pt. 3 that Niv Shah just added (banner at top of page). I don’t think this affects our league any more than all the others but take a gander anyway. Always good to know what’s coming down the pipe
-
Yeah I think that’s an important stipulation
-
I've got no issues with free cuts. For the MiLB moves, we'd have to exclude the recent group of draftees right? Assuming he/she can't -- for instance -- drop a player and pickup Torkelson, i'm ok with it.
-
Okay folks...it seems (crosses fingers, salts over shoulder, spits on ground, turns around two times) that we might have a season in the nearish future. That's good! I'm excited! But we also still need an owner for Detroit. I'm posting an owner wanted message; under the standard new owner rules, they will be allowed unlimited free cuts, those players will then be allowed for auction. I also think they should be given full latitude to cut and replace their minor league roster. Thoughts?
-
Thank you!
-
From the league rules: “MiLB$0 players may only be added during one of the two annual prospect snake drafts:
(1) Mid-Late March (immediately following league auction)
(2) October 15th - November 15th (Ottoneu arbitration period)”
-
How does it work if we want to replace a minor league player?
-
Wouldn't the rest of us be tied for second place? Good sir, I vehemently scoff at your projections! 🧐
