  • The rationale behind the points scoring is giving and taking points for the things that pitchers mostly control by themselves. SABR points is even wackier. No points given up for hits at all, just walks and homers

  • That’s not something that can be changed unfortunately. It’s balanced by 2.46 pts per out and not being dinged for the other slug points like doubles and triples where fielding often plays a role

    Any pitcher allows a HR, it’s -14.9. One bad pitch is the equivalent to this abortion of a start.
