We were eyeing young Sebastian but knew he wouldn’t get to us with Cads in front. Great pick.
-
Funny story about Walcott. Apparently, before he signed with Texas he was in final talks with LA, but Brandon Gomes thought he had stolen the last can of Coke from the fridge at the facility by hiding it in his shorts. Later that day he shared the story with Andrew Friedman, who confirmed that one of his kids has taken it. There's probably some moral in there, but bottom line is Walcott is very well developed physically.
-
It kills me to skip the Ghosts, who just might be my best friend in the league aside from the wOBs brothers, but I know that people plan their days around this draft, so I guess I need to be respectful of everyone’s time and keep things moving. Cads will take Sebastian Walcott, P.Y.T.,Texas. Mo Vaughn OTC.
-
The Cannonballers are honored to take Jacob Misiorowski, P, Milwaukee Brewers. To the Cads, who indubitably have a crop of lithe young men queued up
-
Leather Daddies select the pride of Wright State, Tyler Black. IF, MIL. Jay Cannonball is OTC
-
Walker Jenkins OF MIN. Leather Daddies now OTC
-
Detroit Ghosts time has elapsed. Polar Bear Pride on the clock. Instituting a clock freeze at 10 PM ET each night
-
About 90 minutes left on the clock for the Ghosts
-
Suppose I'll round out the top 4 from the draft and select Max Clark. Over to les Ghosts!
-
I'll take the mustachioed wonder, Paul Skenes. Over to Jamie Moyer Heaters.
-
I’m on Pacific Time, so I’ll just pick now and not hold up early momentum.
I’ll take Wyatt Langford, OF, TEX. LVL is next.
-
Dreadnought OTC at 8AM ET

Alright y’all, the day is upon is. A few final reminders: 1) 8 Hour pick windows; if no pick has been made, next team is on the clock, original team submit pick at their earliest convenience. 2) Only players with 0 PA/IP in the majors are eligible to be drafted (This excludes Brayan Rocchio). 3) here’s a link to the Spreadsheet for those who need it: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uC6XbdeoOf47Uddus1mQamHeHIHBwELi3wEr0h85VJ0/edit#gid=1757050685

Alright, the whole draft order is now up under the Aug’23 Draft tab of the google Doc. MiLB rosters are frozen until the draft is complete. Josh’s team has first pick on Monday 7/31 starting at 8ET AM
-
Grayson is starting to figure it out...pretty fun to see. He gave Volpe some sweet chin music tonight.
-
Dreadnought is dropping Brennen Davis, Addison Barger, Edwin Arroyo, and Elijah Green. Thanks!
-
Cannonball dropping Warming Bernabel
-
LD dropping Benny Montgomery COL and Hao-Yu Lee PHI from the milb roster. We wish them well.
-
Literally
-
I'm gonna cram three rolls of pennies up his tight little keister come arbitration.
-
Overlay that to salary cap: 13% of 400 is $52. No need to add any more salary to him this off-season, I’m already paying more than he’s worth
-
Ohtani has accounted for 13% of Mo Vaughn's points for this season. Just saying....
-
If anyone else has another Ohtani to trade for, I’m interested
-
still time for Ohtani to get to 100 points on the day
-
12 AM ET, Saturday 7/29 for you sticklers out there. You know who you are
-
Just a reminder that all Prospect drops are due by 12 ET tomorrow, Friday 7.28. The draft order will be locked in at that time and no trades will take effect until the end of the MiLB draft. Any activations will take effect immediately, but no extra draft picks will be granted. Any drops will not be reflected until after the draft and said prospects will not be eligible for drafting until the Spring ‘24 draft
-
Just a point of clarification for the MiLB Roster Google Sheet: Owen White was traded from wOBA to Moyer on 7/23 in the deal for Raisel.
-
Oh yeah, Skenes really fills out a gas mask.
-
Thanks for the advice Tom. We’re sitting on a video of a top prospect in a gas-mask bong. Not sure if that’ll help or hurt him with this crowd, so we’re waiting to release it. (Yes, it’s Paul Skenes)
-
Thank you Tom. Sorry to have filled your inbox and we're grateful for the guidance since we're not used to picking so early.
And while Cabbage for Judge is a swap we cannot consider, we are indeed interested in continuing dialogue on the trades we discussed on 4chan. See you over there....
-
4. Read the room. Assess the drafting proclivities of the owners selecting around your spot and use this to inform your selections. This is vital if you’re drafting at the top or the bottom of the round. Try to project a few picks and determine if the guy you want is likely to make it back to you on the turn.
-
This makes you a considerate owner, rather than the guy that keeps offering Trey Cabbage in trades for top talent.
-
3. Monitor. Keep an eye on the clock. The second someone fails to make their pick in the allotted time, make yours (if you’re up) or send a gentle reminder to whomever is next. The key is to do this in a way that garners sympathy. Mention how it kills you to skip the person (who just might be your best friend in the league aside from wOBs – who are apparently two different people) but that we need to be respectful of everyone’s time and keep things moving.
-
2. Misdirect. Talk up guys that the industry likes more than you do. Mention how they really fill out a pair of jeans and/or how painful childbirth was for the mother. Make up terms like Double Caesarian to really sell how much of physical specimen said prospect is.
-
1. Prepare. Understand which prospects are available and how they are viewed by the industry.
-
First of all, well played. With that said, there are a few bits of wisdom that can go a long way toward making your draft a success, regardless of which spot in the order you’re selecting.
-
I received the following question in my inbox and thought I’d reply publicly to avoid any accusations of collusion or other impropriety:
“Hey, we are looking for some advice in the upcoming MiLB draft. We've never drafted in the middle of a draft and wanted to know if you have any advice, from experience. Thanks!”
-
Who's Josh's pick?
You guessed it...
Frank Stallone
-
Im 90% sure who I’m picking but on any event I’ll send Luke a list by Sunday evening so no time is lost.

Here's the draft order for the MiLB Draft. Exact pick order will be determined based on how many prospect slots are available after drops are done (BY FRIDAY!). Everything will be based on a snake of the current reverse standings, as follows:
1) Josh's Team
2) Siena
3) Dreadnought
4) Liberty Village Lumber
5) Jamie Moyer Heaters
6) Detroit Ghosts
7) Polar Bear Pride
8) Leather Daddies
9) Cannonball Run
10) Charming Cads
11)

I could part with Cabbage but it's not going to be a respectable transaction. You're going to have to lose a bit of innocence. In a bad way.
-
Lindor and Springer still OTB. Could package them plus one of Greene, Lodolo, Bobby Miller or Taj for a young cheap bat upgrade.

Good stuff. That's what it's all about. Looking forward to the SLC meetup next week. Frank McCourt is gonna be there.
-
It was more like a bucket of PBR! Niv put everything on his tab. We had a great time.
-
i'm imagining this Iglesias deal coming together over a cigar and Johnnie Walker Blue. What else is a meetup for? Well done, gents. 🥃
-
Cannonball will call up Quinn Priester and drop Allan Cerda, Dax Fulton, Alexander Canario from MiLB
