I'm fine with it. I get to pitch Skubal today. I never would have made that trade if I had any idea he was going to be promoted. It was announced like an hour later. Doh

I see trades are still 48 hours. That's just silly, can we make it 24 already? I've got guys dropping like flies and this wait is unnecessary in my humble opinion.

Awesome! I'm sure I've fallen a few as I've had some negative pitching performances over the last week. And your trade for Bregman, Ozuna, etc was the first trade and instigator of this madness (albeit extremely fun madness)

Hey all, is anyone opposed to switching the trade window from 48 to 24 hours? With a shortened season and upcoming deadline in two weeks it makes more sense to process trades quicker. If you feel strongly about keeping it at 48 hours, post a message by end of day today.

Not that it matters now but is Ottoneu really making every pay the $100 for this 60 game season? I mean I know we all paid like months ago but this is the only league I know that is doing that. Oh well. Also I will be out of contention within a week or two since I've got no money and half my guys are on IL and opting out so in about 10 days send me trade offer for prospects I'll win this thing in 2025. :)

Yeah, if you click the headline To the community site at the top of the page, Niv outlined all of the changes including the new prorated games and innings limits.

Alright I suppose if I'm the last of the mohicans.... I guess the daily feature will just increase one's likelihood of running up against the maximums. Esp if we assume that ottoneu lowered the min/max innings played and pitched to a prorated amount based on the short season which they presumably calculated and contemplated would be close to met when season is done. Or do they have different mins/maxs for different leagues?

I support daily for 2020 given the exceptional circumstances and what feels like daily moving parts in MLB. I think this is the flexibility we need and I may be wrong, but can't we set a lineup and it stands and if we choose to adjust daily, we can, otherwise it remains as is for as long as we want. I know some can't accommodate daily as much as others, but I vote for it. I am totally fine with weekly too - I don't see this as absolutes. Just trying to adjust to a unique season
Dying Quails on

Haus and Nap I know this switches things up for you, but there's a solution. There is a lever you can flip on the lineup page: "Bench position players that are not in their MLB starting lineup. Based on our projections 5 minutes before scheduled game time". If you preset your lineups a couple days ahead of time, like in bunches of 3 based on SP faced, and combine with this lever you should field pretty solid lineups on a daily basis.
-
I was the other person in favor of maintaining weekly lineups since that is what we signed up for. It seems quite clear I am in the minority here. I agree daily is better for all of the reasons stated, but, again, this has been advertised as a weekly league. The only reason I am in it is because it is impossible for me to set a valid lineup every day since I am in a non-US time zone. Not worth fighting about, go ahead and change it to daily if it will enhance the experience that much.
-
Nap, I’ll just add in here that the benefit of daily has more to do with maximizing games played at your hitter spots. It’s next to impossible to max those out in weekly due to IL stints and days off, where in daily you can sub in a player from your bench right away. Same goes for the pitching, as Mentioned there is an IP limit, so you can’t stream pitchers from waivers every day. You would also run out of budget pretty quickly that way. Dynasty also mitigates the daily streaming strategy.

I thought I understood the rules when I signed up last season. Now I'm not so sure.

Nap, there'something amiss here. If you have 10 SP you have PLENTY of pitching for the year. You don't have to have a start per day, you have an innings MAXIMUM for the YEAR. Do you understand the rules? I say that not to be condescending but because I think there's a legitimate disconnect between your logic and the rules. For the year you can ONLY pitch a MAXIMUM of 560 IP and a MINIMUM of 460 IP.
-
And yes, it is quite possible I'm overthinking this. But, based on last season's experience, there's several days in a week when I had no SP going. If one would like to make a realistic run at winning this season, it would, presumably, require some serious dump and pump. Thereby fucking up everything we drafted for in the first place for the long haul. Maybe I'm the only one seeing that and concerned with it idk

Not talking covid. I'm talking more SP. If we can start P daily, then if I'm holding the 10 SP I drafted, all of whom I would like to keep for the entire season, then I'm going to have to let some of them go back into the waiver pool in order to staff my team with enough SP to cover a starter every day of the season. I understand that the winner doesn't necessarily HAVE to make a lot of moves to win, but the one who does would be at significant advantage over the owners who don't start a P daily

I think you're over thinking this, Nap. The biggest difference between daily v. weekly lineup changes would be platooning. In weekly you essentially can't platoon where in daily you can. But in weekly as in daily you have to weigh whether adding marginal major leaguers for point depth at the expense of your future plan is worth it or not. I don't understand how drafting for one option or the other could make that drastic a difference in short or long term goals. Maybe 5 players total?
