I agree about keeping 5 OF. If you look at the percent of games played per position and with SP innings they're pretty inline. Catchers were the highest at 89% of possible games and the lowest was randomly MI at 78%. Innings pitched was actually the lowest at 77%.
-
In on next year. With jersey fresh here - is the OF change set in stone?
-
Thanks everyone! The short season definitely helped us out. Are we dead set on the 3 OF slots? Seems like it defeats the aspect of the league that makes this fun- extreme scarcity. Not on the slack channel so we might have missed the debate
-
Congrats Jersey and really to everyone for this wild ride! We'll be back for 2021—aiming to build on our improvement and go for the gold!

I’m in for next year for sure
-
Congrats Jersey Tomatoes! That was close Evil Empire, nice run!
Everyone: please let the league know if you're committed to next season asap. We have the good word from Niv that we will reduce starting OF spots from 5 to 3 next season to make this league more manageable. So we hope to keep it 20 teams.

Well done Jersey!

Congrats, Jersey Fresh Tomatoes - nail biter! Hard fought finish by Evil Empire and Les incompetents. Cheers!

Hey y’all, I’m going camping until Sunday, probably won’t have service, might be radio silent. I’ve got some bids on people, apologies if my roster is illegal by the time I get back. I’ll rectify ASAP
-
Looking for batting, preferably cheap. Have lots of RP.

Darin... F*CKING... Ruf

Nice to see a blockbuster trade, almost feels like baseball is back!
-
Anyone trying to shoot the moon in the short season? Harper's available for some future value
-
It’s fine by me.
-
Thanks sultans, I concur. Not a mistake from my side.
-
I think especially in this league the cap room has value, I see no issue with the move.
-
Hey all, we accepted a trade that looks a little weird, maybe. We clarified with the proposing owner that it wasn't a mistake. Wakanda was looking for a little cap relief and we were able to accommodate. If you dislike the trade, we're ok with reversing it.
-
Thanks!

I might agree JFT, but if the real life Red Sox can piss away $48 mil and Mookie, no reason to think we cant do the same ;)
-
If you look at what JFT did last year we obviously don’t have a problem with loans. All I’m saying is that to give away $50+ in loans before a single game is played or even starters confirmed is ridiculous
-
Agree with Sabo. And since I kicked off the loan sweepstakes pretty early last year, I won't go all hypocritical now lol.
-
We debated (in Slack) extensively on rules around loans and the consensus was not to implement any rails around the loan system. The only way to move big talent in this league is with big pieces of cap money attached. So while I didn't partake in such loans last season (giving or receiving) I'm certainly going to this season to make a push for the title.

I feel like there should be some rule against a team giving up 10% of its salary in loan before ST even starts
-
I could use some batters...have plenty of pitching to trade
-
Hey is there a slack channel for the league? If so would someone mind adding me? Luke Dykes (Wuboxnation)
-
Can confirm. All good with me. Let the wheeling and dealing re-commence.
-
Can confirm
-
Columbus CrewSavers and Jersey Fresh Tomatoes, can you confirm you're not interested in any of Sultan of Statcast's nominations? Also that you're done with the auction draft. If so we can end the draft and Baseball Index can get back to trading.
-
Increased the nominations to 3 a team now that we are in the $1 territory with about half the teams done auctioning.

The last +$5 auction seems to be ending in the hour. So I think it's time to shorten the 24 hour clock to 12 hours (the "new high bid" reset will remain 12 hours). Let me know if anyone has an objection.

Final reminder to check your budget in couchmanagers to make sure it's correct.
-
Let's not add any rules for now in terms of a salary cap. In June we'll talk again about the minor league extension (discussed in the Slack channel). As for the auction (which we said we'd start tomorrow) anyone have a problem if we go live around 12noon et? Remember that nominated players will be up for auction for a minimum of 24 hours.
-
Sure. I'm hoping couchmanagers is idiot-proof -- first time using it and first time slow drafting as well, so this will be a ride.

Please join the auction asap — waiting on 5 managers and we can’t load the data of keepers until every team is there.
