Definitely a DEEP sleeper...

And I paid $4 for him lol

You MUST be only Ottoneu team to ever own him!!!

Daniel Espinoza's career stats are pretty special: 14.90 ERA and 3.52 WHIP in the DSL. (24 walks in 9.2 IP!!!) https://www.milb.com/player/daniel-espinoza-698970

I have 41 players. Looks like I have Daniel Espino SP and Daniel Espinoza UT. I should only have Espino SP

Sorry for the delay everyone, new job had me spinning and then I went down with vertigo again for a couple days. Everyone should have complete rosters, and we can commence with trades/drops/auctions tomorrow!

Hey all! Rosters will be uploaded here tomorrow afternoon, at which point I’ll have everyone crosscheck their rosters with what we have on Couch Managers. After any import errors are corrected, folks will be able to make drops and start auctions on free agents!

For transparency, the money available *on Couch Managers* for each of the affected managers is:
Detroit Mashers - $395
Duran Duran (Duran) - $394
Diamond Girl - $378
I will also be deleting the 60-day IL players from their teams, meaning they will reenter the draft pool. Please do not nominate any of the following players:
Shane McClanahan, Felix Bautista, Jasson Dominguez, Drew Rasmussen

I thought on regular ottoneu auctions you can’t go above 40 until after the draft either? I’m pretty sure I saw Niv comment in forums that he did that so people couldn’t stockpile until post draft.
-
Since you cannot assign more money to players once they are auctioned off, I am asking each of these individual managers to use the honor system and only bid as much money as they *actually* have available in Ottoneu. I will be DM'ing each of them with more details.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
It has been brought to my attention that some teams have more than 40 roster slots due to team members being on the 60-day IL.
There is no clean way to remedy this in Couch Managers, so I am removing players on the 60-day IL from those teams in Couch Managers.
Affected teams include: Duran Duran (Duran), Diamond Girl, and Detroit Mashers.

Highlighted green means they're logged in and looking at the page. I tend to leave my tab open even when I'm not at the computer, though, so I would guess I'm almost always green.

Slow auction is off to an exciting start…
Does anyone know what it means when teams are highlighted green on the draft home screen?

Alright, folks. It's time! Everyone can start nominating players over in the Couch Managers draft room! Please let me know if there are any issues moving forward.
Once again, clocks will stop overnight, so do not fret if you can't get to the draft room right away in the morning/right before bed. You should have ample time to respond to the bids of other managers.

Thanks for tackling those questions, Arthur. I appreciate it.
I plan to start the slow auction on Friday afternoon after I'm out of my temp job (around 3:00 pm CST). At that point, all managers can nominate 3 players, meaning we will have 36 players on the board to scrap over at once.
I will also be putting a pause on the clocks overnight, so if you can't check right before bed/after you wake up you shouldn't miss out on anyone.
Looking forward to getting t

Hey everyone, a bit late, but I'm Mike from Detroit. Detroit has seen a ton of investment in the past 15 years and I'd say, it is well on its way to being a great midwestern city. When we hosted the SB in 2006, I'd say 33% of the buildings (15-50 floor types) were shuttered to make the downtown more walkable. Fake facades were put in place, it was the opposite of good and prideful. Today, just a guess, but empty building is maybe 5% of stock... perhaps 2%. Anyhow, I'm in the...
-
Multiple players will auction at once which is definitely different. It's incredibly clear what the current bids will be, though, so you can plan a little based on time left and who all is up for auction as far as "strategy" goes. I can try to answer any other specific questions anyone might have on the board or in messages. I run these for another league the last couple years, so I've encountered most questions from my own league.
-
I can say from past experience that it's pretty easy after the start. Clock resets to 12 hours with every new person that gets a high bid. So if I bid $10 to take control of Mike Trout and then set my max bid at $20, every time someone else bids 11, 14, 18, 20....it won't reset the timer (but it will up my bid to their bid). Once someone bids $21 and gains control of the player, the clock will reset to 12 hours. Timer hits 0, high bidder wins the player.
-
Heya folks, so the draft starts in a few days (hip hip hooray) but I'm feeling a little uncertain about how this will go down. Can we start a chat about what to expect and the general rules?
-
Oh, and I know like nothing about FC stuff other than thinking that maybe the Athletics or Guardians franchises should be relegated to AAA for their lack of spending/effort. :D
-
Wild how diverse our interests and lives are (blueberry nursery!?) and baseball brings us right together. I'm Arthur. I've been in Party Deck since year 1. I teach high school in Illinois in the Quad Cities (aka not close to Chicago). I have a 4 and 2 year old who are mostly turning into Braves fans like me (TBS youth) despite my wife and her family being big Cubs fans. Love Shohei and Trout, too. Mildly hope my daughter doesn't want competitively dance.
-
Oh and Adam! To further emphasize my funny sports allegiances I have a Phillies hat that I wear proudly.
-
Fun fact: my wife was an extra in the Bernie Mac movie Mr. 3000 which of course featured the Brewers. She's in a couple of crowd shots in the last game of movie. Amazingly I didn't know this about her until after we were married and I guess I just love her a little bit more knowing that the first thing out of her mouth wasn't "I WAS IN MR.3000" because I would never shut up about that. Ok, enough blathering, looking forward to another fun season with y'all!
-
So who am I a fan of? The Angels, of course! I became a huge Shohei and Mike Trout stan and they have just become a team I love following. Of course that's in shambles now so IDGAF I'll follow the Dodgers this season because I go where Shohei goes. To prove my Shohei obsession I'll figure out a way to share some photos of my Shohei baseball card collection (it's turning into a legit addiction). Anyway, I'm a fan of all teams, I'm not beholden to territorial constraints :)
-
Hey guys, Steven here. I currently live outside of Milwaukee. Worked with the commish for a bit. I'm a weird sports fan. I was born in WV (Pirates/Steelers), spent my formidable years in Northern Virginia (developed a nasty habit for the Commanders and my first baseball game was the Orioles), went back to WV for college (Go WVU!), spent a couple years in Texas (thankfully no Texas sports), a decade in Chicago (Sox/Bulls), now settled with a wife, 3 year old boy, and 7 year old girl in Wisconsin.

What’s up fellas! I’m Adam from New Jersey. (The green part not the gray gross part) I own a blueberry nursery/farm. I’m an avid runner (love running trials in the woods) and Philly sports fan. Joe Carter ruined my childhood so I’m glad your son picked the Phillies Jason, haha! I’m a huge Pearl Jam fan, just got some tickets to see them in September again. Also a big soccer fan, played a little D3 soccer in college, so good to see some other soccer lovers. I tend to root for Liverpool…
-
Non-baseball-wise, I’m a fan of Brentford FC (which is a mile and bit from where we live) and Partick Thistle FC (through genetic predetermination -- I'm not sure why anyone would ever actually choose to support them). And yes, the Jose Bautista figure remains on my desk at work!
-
I managed to talk my (English) wife into naming our first-born Carter (after Joe -- obvs)… but he’s for some reason decided to be a PHILLIES fan. (Which cracks me up – considering THAT homer that we’ve immortalized through his name.) He’s almost 7 now, and I also have a 3-year-old daughter.
-
I moved to Scotland in 2000 but have been in London for about 15 years now. (And even met our ex-commish Tyler when he passed through here once upon a time. Which was fun. Please do get in touch if you ever happen to be on this side of the pond!) I know both Matt (Duran, Duran, Duran) and Phil (Streakers) in real life.

Hi. I’m Jason. I grew up near Toronto in the mid-80s when Jays were just getting good (Stieb, Fernandez, Bell, Moseby, Barfield, Henke) and have fond memories of the glory years (hence the WAMCO thing, which for any young ‘uns was what the White, Alomar, Molitor, Carter, Olerud Top 5 was dubbed way back in ‘93) and stuck around during the many, many, many not-so glory years (Halladay… and um, that’s it) – and these last few mostly disappointing overall / unfinished business ones...

Hey everyone!
My name is Mike, the new guy. I’ve played ottoneu basketball and football the last few years and I’m pumped to join this league. I live north of Boston and I’ve been pals with Diamond Girl and Kenny Kawaguchi since middle school.
Fun fact, in the summers I play in an old time baseball league where we play with 1860s rules. No gloves, can’t overrun first base, catch the ball on one bounce and it’s an out. It’s a blast
-
I’m Geoff, the Coloradan. Currently on year 3 of boycotting the Rockies after about 5 years of partial season tickets. The 1st year being 20 games in the Party Deck. My brother, formerly Streakers, started this league and still eavesdrops occasionally. Hello Tyler. I enjoy hunting, fishing, being a dad and husband. And I have had pretty good success on DFS (DraftKings) once taking 2nd in the King of the Beach for $80,000. However that does not translate well to ottoneu where I compete for 11th.

Matt here!
I live in NYC. Fun fact: WAMCO used to be my boss in London and he had Jose Bautista bobblehead on his desk. I wasn’t a baseball fan at the time (I'm Aussie), but I was in a bar for *that* homer and bat flip. The rest is history… I love heading out to Citi Field in summer and I enjoy this league so much I started another Ottoneu league at work.
I play a lot of guitar m/ and do a lot of yoga. Diehard Leeds Utd supporter for anyone who follows soccer.

Pumped about the draft, you guys!
There has been a lot of turnover since the inaugural season of Party Deck. At one point I think there was a sizable Colorado contingent - Party Deck is a reference to a section of Coors Field - but I'm not sure if we have any mountain men/women left. I thought it might be fun if everyone could do another introduction so we could reacquaint ourselves with the rest of the league. Name, where you're from, a fun fact, and what you like to do outside
