Yeah, tough break.
-
Man... traded for the older Contreras just to have JD Martinez bust his arm in less than a week. I suppose you could say this time I did catch a break, just not the one I was looking for.

I figured it was something like that.

No wrong board, I have another team🤦♂️
-
Maybe it’s a joke because of my team name and Ozuna isn’t on my team either?
-
Does someone have two teams?
-
Ohtani is not on your team
-
Braves fan here, itching to put Ozuna in my lineup. So, I'm willing to part with Ohtani+loan if I can get back a worthy return.
-
I have now had 6 new injuries to my roster since the draft.

Baseball is here!!!!
-
Play Ball! Oops, a little late. Have a great season all!

What Chipper said. Essentially, as long as your roster is over limit (spots or $), you are locked out from doing anything to your roster until cuts are made. Since setting your lineups is really the most important part of the game, you could technically say you have before opening day.
-
41/73: As someone in this position currently, I feel I may be qualified to answer. I'm over roster limit and cannot: 1. make lineup changes, 2. Add bids to newly auctioned players 3. Change bids on currently auctioned players, or 4. initiate/accept trades. While I can certainly try to wait for a player to hit the 60day for my roster to regain validity, I will need to cut someone if I want to perform any of the aforementioned tasks.
-
Stupid question alert: what is the timeframe we need to get under the max roster spots? Seems like here after the draft there is a flurry of waivers and some teams may add too many players. Do we have until the regular season start to get right roster-wise, or are we expected to drop player(s) to get under limits quicker than that?

That’s why I usually don’t like the draft this early and tend to like them at the end at spring training. Most I think if I remembered correctly wanted them earlier. I’m still worried about Bradish, so we are in the same boat. You’re resourceful and will proceed.
-
I got to less than 48 hours, and there goes Giolito. What's next?
-
Just over 1 hour until draft time, see you all there! P.S. Acuna is hurt, so just let me draft him for $10 *winkwink* *nudgenudge*

Already dreading Monday morning, but I'll be there!

Quick check in: everyone good for Sunday’s draft? Just making sure no one had any unforeseen conflicts arise.
-
Just a reminder that our draft is in 6 days, unless someone wants to take the initiative to find a better date that works for everyone.

Yes, I've been in touch with him. He intends to renew. Because it was marked as abandoned, he's got to go through the claim team feature, which he said he would do once he got to the office today. He's on Hawaiian time.
-
Does anyone have a contact for Probably Going to Finish Last? It looks like he made cuts on the deadline day but didn't pay to renew. If not, we need someone pretty quickly.
-
I don't mind doing that, since it's getting to be a lot of messages. But thankfully it seems the 3rd works for everyone who spoke up so far, so it's just a matter of trying to find something better.

The 16th would not work for me. I would second the idea of maybe doing a weeknight? Also, in other fantasy leagues, I've done a Google Doc Spreadsheet where everyone puts an "X" on a spreadsheet to indicate if they are available or not on any given day. The commissioner(s) can then select whatever date works best off of data. I'm happy to set that up for this group and give the commissioners full access.
-
I can make whatever you all need work.
-
I could do the 16th.

I could do the 16th, would prefer to keep it 8:30pEST or later so I don’t have little ones bidding, but I can make it work.
-
My availability may be limited on the 16th, but I can manage with that because my roster is mostly set.
-
I could do the 16th. If others can't we could always considering going wild and trying a weeknight for the draft 😅

Ah crap, good catch Murph. Would Saturday, March 16th be a conflict for anyone?
-
I just now found out the Dodgers and Padres are playing three games in Seoul starting March 20. Time for more controversy. It's people getting screwed by late ST injuries versus people with Dodgers or Padres players missing out on three games. If anyone is in the OPL, they will need to draft before March 20. I don't have a personal stake. I will move it to March 3rd for now because I would say the default is drafting before any games when people are available. But I can move it back if asked.

Sorry for being late to respond. Was travelling and had no access to wifi. I'm good with any of those Sundays

I count 7 out of 12 owners for March 24th, and nine against so far. March 3rd is the apparent backup. 8 PM CDT (or CST depending) is about the time that I recall. So unless I hear an objection, I'll set it for 8 PM March 24th. It can be changed though.

I'm good for all four weeks.

I should be able to make anything work, but would lean toward March 23rd or 24th if I were picking.
-
I can't do a March 10 draft, but could make the other Sundays in March work.

March 17th would be problematic for me, but my roster is largely set so it's not going to hurt if I miss the early high dollar action. AFAIK all the other March weekends would be fine.
-
I'm available for all 4 March weekends, but would prefer the one closest to opening day to account for ST injuries and performance updates.
-
I count 7 weekends until Opening Day, not counting this one (because too soon). Let's say we whittle it down to the second half of those to give time for injuries and off-season moves and it's one of the first 4 March weekends. Any thoughts? I know we've usually done the drafts Sunday nights, so we could start by giving unavailabilities for those 4 Sunday nights. I'm good for all 4.

I think it's fair to say whatever requires a commissioner to do is not strictly within the rules. However, I don't particularly care about this one case as I also don't see it affecting anyone. If we (meaning unanimously or close to that) would like to establish that intentional actions are never undone by a commissioner, I'm open to that. I would suggest that everyone who cares message to WOBA that this is what they would like and he can make a decision based on how many feel strongly about it.

To address a couple other points:
- Yes, this option is available to anyone in the offseason. It’s really not a big deal.
- This action involved a single team, therefore not like a trade. Trades will not be reversed in the event of an injury. An accidental accept click when you meant to hit decline, yes I’ll reverse that.
- No, cuts in season will not be reversed. There are other salary and competitive implications involved that make it very different from this situation.
