Are we allowed to do trades right now. I know some have updated trade status but wasn't sure if we could right now
-
Congrats to the podium teams! I'm in for next year.
-
Thank you Murphy's Law/Smoltzy93 for your contributions to the league as an owner and commissioner. I hope you'll reconsider before we find a replacement, but to your point we would rather have an active owner than one just going through the motions.
-
It's been a blast to play with you all, some of you for several years. Thanks for your patience with the weird decisions and situations over the years, and for making this as competitive a league as I could imagine. If you absolutely cannot find a replacement, I will keep up with the chat here and will consider staying to keep the league going, but I would much rather turn it over to someone who will be more invested. Thanks.

Obviously wasn't going to say so beforehand, so as not to manipulate anything, but I'm going to be exiting from the league. I really wanted to play in the OPL next year, but fell short of 6th by a tiny margin with my $230 team. Both of the last two years have seen unbelievable injuries and underperformance for my team. I managed to get to a very good place going into next season, but I would still be disqualified from participating in the OPL with whatever I would put together.

This was a blast. I intend to continue playing and if it wasn't obvious, I'll continue to be very active. So, get ready for the trade proposals.
-
It was a great and competitive season, thanks everyone for participating! If anyone doesn’t intend to play next year please let me know, it’s always easier to find replacements when they can participate in the full offseason.
-
Good season guys. I gave it a good push my first time on ottoneu. I'll be ready next season. We had a hell of a three-team race until about a week ago. Congrats WOBA on 1st and Try not to suck good job holding on to 2nd.
-
oh wait... It's the way she goes boys is out of UTIL games left...so I got 2nd place by 23 points...talk about a close one! Well played season gentlemen! I will echo the congrats to WOBA and the desire the dethrone him next year!

Congrats WOBA. Things got interesting in the final months, but you pulled it out again. Enjoy your win, we'll try to dethrone you next year!
-
Honestly, my team got healthy and Ohtani went on a tear at the right time is the answer. Every year it’s a close race, and I’ll have more hard decisions this offseason on who to keep and who to trade/cut.
-
Damn, FIP, you went from being in third place to 500 points up. Nice work my friend. I’m still trying to figure out how you do it. That’s some really good work.
-
Ha I thought so too, because that was the only way I was going to move him for heavy surplus bc he is a two position cheat code. The fun of sports, sometimes the math doesn’t work out as planned.
-
Yes.
-
Is there only 1 Ohtani in this league and whoever has him can get both pitching and batting points?

Yeah, there was no way to predict Anderson and Manoah collapsing the way they did. I felt like I was overpaying for Ohtani at the time and giving up a lot of surplus value.
-
That trade almost single-handedly sunk my team. Ohtani had just finished his 5th season with a peak 7 p/g but added strong pitching and has spiked to nearly 9 p/g. Tucker did as expected at great value until the injury this year. Anderson at age 29 went from 5-6 p/g seasons to below 3. Manoah went from 3rd place Cy with MVP votes as a 24 yr old to a complete pumpkin. What I anticipated as filling three positions for the price of one, allowing higher spending elsewhere completely fell apart.
-
Ohtani just scored over 65 points in a single game as a hitter, wooowwww
-
After these trades go through, my base salaries are going to be $254. lol

Too many injuries and too many players not performing. I'm open for business.
-
Wow Jabu, I’m surprised you didn’t accuse of cheating in some way for getting him
-
Oh man. I didn't even bid on Nacho since I figured on a Braves board he would go way out of my price range. Smooth pick up there
-
Probably not playing this year or next, but hey, for a dollar, why not.
-
Nobody else even bid on Nacho? We should all be ashamed to call ourselves Braves fans, heh
-
A 500ish point lead at this point in the season is nothing, anyone could come back and take me down if injuries keep hitting me.
-
Hey now, as the second place finisher from last year.... I agree wholeheartedly. I don't cheer for injuries, but I do look forward to seeing if the Mookie Betts injury turns WOBA into a mere mortal like the rest of us!
-
I think WOBAcompensating is on roids. No way he's beating us this bad with just raw ability. 💉💪😁
-
Let’s get this out and move on and have fun. I figure the fastest way to clear this up would be to ask you directly. Just lay it out there, no judgement, what are you pissed about?
-
Half the fun noticing what others do and moves they make. Me asking a commissioner on something is me doing my job. I mean look at last year, I snagged third place and a ribbon from you for whatever reason. This year , I’m in 10 th place. Please talk to me and be honest and I think we can work this out. I want to have fun in a league. Wish we did more trades but they are a lot work. So, jab, ask me anything you want and I will give you a straight honest answer
-
I got a solution. Jabu, just straight talk to me about what you’re pissed at me for. You have turned this into every time ask the commish about something you go crazy. The commish makes all rulings. I have abided by all of his rulings. If you should be pissed at anyone it should be him. Your just pissed you didn’t think of more ways to help your team. There have been many times the other owners have out smarted me.
-
Thanks way it goes. It’s simple really I hit the wrong button and noticed the next morning. I asked the commissioner if anything can be done. He can either say yes or no about it. It’s really not that big of a deal to me.
-
I'm new to the league, so maybe there are past issues I am unaware of. But if you accept a trade by mistake, just post a message that states your case and ask the others to veto it. The flip side works the same way: if you don't believe it was a mistake, approve it. I don't think the commissioner should be involved. Outside drama or feelings about someone should not be relevant. We are grown men playing a fantasy game. Just have fun. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
-
Some of you guys have some real issues. That is becoming very clear to me. I have never encountered this kind of thing before playing fantasy baseball. The accusations are at a point of complete lunacy after what I read and nothing is being done to stop it. I don’t need to deal with this crap. You guys have fun with your league and I hope some of you get the help you need.
-
Murphy, I’m sorry that I have a hard time with the buttons on my phone when impaired. I even said I would accept responsibility if once a trade was accepted that’s it. Also, the trade was vetoed by others because they thought it was unbalanced as per the comments below.
-
Lol. Appreciate the weirdly personal narrative and sorry for whatever you're going through. But yeah, 'don't fantasy baseball while high and expect zero consequences' seems like a fairly simple rule to follow. It takes multiple button pushes and confirmation anyway, so I think you've just gotta live to play another day without your valuable yet fairly priced closer 🤷

On the other hand, as backup commissioner, I would appreciate if we could keep threats of quitting to a minimum. I think we can work things out as a group of rational human beings without having to resort to tactics like that, especially before a decision has even been made.
-
Just to add my two cents, I think the only time a trade should be veto'd is if it is so imbalanced that an attempt to get the other player to accidentally accept it or intentional cheating on behalf of one player are the only explanations. This trade does not qualify. If the excuse is that you got high and accepted it, the solution would be not to get high and log on to Ottoneu.
-
If this group caves AGAIN and gives them YET ANOTHER rule exception, I'm dropping all my players and quitting. It is beyond tireso
Comments like these are unacceptable especially when I have never been given a rule exemption at any point since taking over Ivan’s team. I was in talking chop 2 for three years before it folded
-
Going through a divorce after 28 years of marriage, trying to find some solace doing one of the things that keeps me going, only to have my character attacked. I’m a lifelong Braves fan , why would I want hurt fellow Braves fans.
-
Reading some of these comments is quite hurtful. All I said to FIP was I hit the wrong button and how should it be handled or if once you hit trade there is no recourse whatsoever. I was just asking how it works. No deception going you paranoid …,,.,
-
I more than happy to provide my background and information and you will find I’m a pretty honest guy.
-
Jesus, you guys are absolutely nuts. I was high when I hit the wrong button. Did not realize a trade had been accepted. So, funny I have never tried to bend the rules in my life. If you knew my family and the way we played board games. It is beneath me to want to cheat on the only fantasy team I play. I don’t know what twisted thing you have going on in your head. I like being in a league where guys participate, even though they are very stubborn to trade with but I like it when we try.
-
He reached out closer to the time I sent the message to the board. Either way, sounds like consensus is just let it ride and don’t cancel it.
-
Question for WOBA - Did CH reach out to you immediately after the trade was made (6/14 @ 6:20pm Pacific), or was it 24 hours later, shortly before your comment (6/15 @ 9:10pm Pacific)? If he reached out to you immediately that's good evidence that the trade accept was in fact accidental and that this isn't a case of traders' remorse and another request for special treatment. I also believe that if the roles were reversed and you cancelled this trade CH would pitch an absolute fit.
-
Sigh. How did I know which owner was claiming this was an "accident" without even looking at it first. Weird how these these "mistakes" only happen to one owner. How many times are we going to give this person special treatment and let them cheat/bend rules? Sounds like one half of the trade thought it was valid, so I'm approving.
If this group caves AGAIN and gives them YET ANOTHER rule exception, I'm dropping all my players and quitting. It is beyond tireso
-
Obviously I would like the trade to go through. This is the first I'm hearing of it being an accidental accept. As far as the statement of it being unbalanced, who makes that call? I would be willing to have a discussion about the value of players and how that might look differently to different fantasy managers and their teams.
-
Hey all, it sounds like the current trade was an accidental accept. It’s also a bit unbalanced and I had personally already voted to veto it. Does anyone have an issue with me cancelling it?
-
Does anyone want Vaughn Grissom before I cut him? I would eat half his salary if I could get a usable piece in return.
-
Holy pitcher injuries Batman...
