Sep 29, 2024 4:27 pm: Hurts completed 18 of 30 passes for 158 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added 20 yards and another touchdown on eight carries in the Eagles' 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
Analysis: Playing without top wideouts A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion), Hurts predictably struggled to run any type of cohesive attack and took six sacks. Additionally, the fact Tampa Bay was able to jump out to a 24-7 lead over the first two quarters certainly didn't help matters, as it made Philadelphia's plan of attack all the more predictable. Some chunk gains in the second half and Hurts' own one-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter helped salvage his fantasy day, but there's no question his upside is significantly capped with out his top two pass catchers. There should be a very good chance Hurts will have at least one of Brown or Smith when the Browns come calling for a Week 6 home matchup on Sunday, Oct. 13 following a Week 5 bye.
