Think of the season-long rolling auctions as “free agency.” You can start an auction at any point (attempt to sign a free agent). These free agency auctions will last 24 hours. Think of the 24-hour window after a player is cut as “waivers.”
1. Yes. The minimum bid on a player is $1. Functionally, cutting a $1 player provides no cap relief until the player is claimed or otherwise added to another team.
2. Players can be claimed on waivers within 24 hours of being cut by another team. If a player is claimed on waivers, they will be added to the claiming team at their full previous salary. If more than one team claims a player on waivers, the tiebreakers used are the same as in the case of a tie on the highest bid on an in-season auction. Once a player is cut, you will see that they are on waivers via the league homepage.

Hi, thanks for offering to answer some questions! I am a fantasy veteran but Ottoneu newbie so I have a couple of rules questions:
1. You have to bid at least $1 to pick someone up off waivers, right? And if you cut them and no one picks them up, do you have to deal with $1 cap penalty for the rest of the season? I would imagine that would make streaming positions costly and it would take a toll on your budget if you do it every week. Or maybe streaming is not even feasible anyway with such deep benches.
2. I saw somewhere that the waivers are 48 hours. Is that all players or just cut players? Do we get notifications when a player is up for waiver bids? I’m used to waivers being weekly, every Tuesday.
Thanks and can’t wait to get started.

Howdy Guys, maybe gals. Excited to be in the league! This is my second ottonue football league. I have 3 baseball teams and 1 basketball team at ottonue. I love the format. I have a little experience so if anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
