  I’ve pushed out a couple new football features today. First, leagues now have an option to change trade review from a 48-hour period to a 24-hour period. This option can be found on the commissioner tools page but cannot be changed until after the 2019 trade deadline. This is being rolled out to address this wishlist item and bring more feature parity between football and baseball. @tripvm will receive a Genie badge.
  
  I’ve also pushed out a completely new game page, built mobile-first so game details can be quickly scanned on your phone.

• The only thing we can do is ask Niv (Ottoneu Management) to consider altering the 48 hour trade approval window setting. I think it does make sense to shorten to it to 24 hours. But it is up to him to make the change or add an option for the league. I have no way to change it for our league.

• If we are going to change the rules let's do it immediately and not in middle of season so all trades including the trade that started this discussion is affected and can be completed before tomorrow's game. I now find my starting tight end is out tomorrow which was why i did the trade in the first place. Thank you all

• Even though we’ve never seen a trade vetoed in this league, that doesn’t justify removing the opportunity to do so. Doing away with in league trade approvals sounds dangerous. Unless we’re leaving it up to the commish. In one of my home leagues we have a 3 man trade committee, the commissioner plus 2 volunteers. They approve or deny a trade usually within an hour of it being agreed upon.

• I agree with the comment that owners should plan ahead but sometimes both teams are not available at same time and furthermore we just had draft on Wed so not much time to evaluate your team and determine what is what and who is who. And the trade was made on Sat . So I see no harm in shortening the time for approval. Finally I ask the question who approves these trades anyway- Mr Otto. If they are not going to be vetoed approve them in 12 hours . Certainly there is no reason for a 48 hour delay especially when we are talking about a 16 game season. No I don't want to cancel the trade. By the way who is Niv

• I agree on vetos. I have never seen a trade a vetoed either. I do think Ottoneu could set it up to shorten the window for completion. But that would have to be a change made in the system.

• I'm indifferent to the decision here but it seems to me 48 hours / 24 hours is only a detail - when planning the trade the owners have to anticipate how it affects the upcoming week - can easily make a trade on Saturday or Friday etc. As for vetos, so you know, I don't think I have ever seen a trade vetoed in this league. Therefore, we could shorten that window to 12 hours or eliminate it because it has never been applied.

• Hi! I cannot accelerate the completion of the trade. I can cancel it. If I did then you guys could use the players involved on their current teams this weekend. Then you could re-do the trade on Tuesday. I did suggest to Niv that the trade period be shortened. If you want to cancel the trade I would want both owners involved to let me know.

• I certainly understand your problem since you probably wanted to use those guys on Sunday. To be honest I think we would need to go to Niv to get him to process the trade faster. I don't think there is anything I can do to speed it up. On the nominations, our league is setup to not require nominations so there was not really anything I did to let people off the hook there. That was the way it was setup when I took over as commissioner earlier this year. Anyway, I will see what the options are on the trade and report back to the group.

  This is my first Otto football league although I have played in Otto baseball, Question and request for you. I earlier today completed a trade but I now find that although auction time is 24 hours to complete in football Otto which is 24 hours shorter than it is in Otto baseball where it is 48 hours that trade rules says it is 48 hours in football. I think trade rule should be same time as auction rule particularly since time is of essence in that only 16 games are played in football as opposed to 162 in baseball So not having a guy for one football game is same as not having a guy for 1/16 of baseball season or 10 games. So I am asking you to use your discretion to shorten time for trade approval to 24 hours for remainder of season . I know that commissioners have some discretion since you used it in draft not to penalize teams who did not nominate a player as rules require and I have seen my baseball commissioner use his discretion as long as everyone is treated equally . Thank you for hearing me out.
