• if you're into baseball as well, we have an available team in our Yahoo league that's been running since 2006, exact same scoring as an Ottoneu points league, different keeper and roster rules though which I'll happily explain. Usually a $30 pay-in for prizes but not mandatory. Buxton, L. Robert, Stanton, Darvish, a few good prospects too on the abandoned team. Message me if interested.

• I was going to submit a vote, but really my answer is that I have no preference. I'd happily kick in $25, but it really has no impact on my enjoyment one way or the other so I'll abstain from voting.

• Thanks for the heads up, about what I expect. Folks can always fill out their rosters via the waiver wire if they need to take off early, happens all the time in my baseball league.

• FYI, I just did one of these drafts last night and it took us about 5 hours with one 10ish minute break after hour 3. There were offers to re-start later but everyone was game to keep going. In this league, we won't really have a window between the draft and the start of the season to break up the draft time. Be prepared for a long Sunday evening. It was really fun to auction off this many dudes though.

• We're actually going to be looking for one owner, there was some confusion on the form apparently. We're just going to keep the draft day and time though since it works for the other 11. So if you know anyone...send them our way. Otherwise, I'm confident it will get claimed.

• Prize pool payouts: We all had to pay $20 to own a team, but in other leagues, we usually throw in a small amount to pay out the top 4 spots because none of us like the Ottoneu payouts. There is no obligation to do it this year, but if you're interested let me know. Ideally you'd all get your money in by draft day and anyone that doesn't pay-in wouldn't be eligible for prizes. I suggest $25 as an amount, but I'm open to ideas. Normally I do a 50%, 25%, 15%, $10 payout which would come out to $150, $75, $45, $30 if everyone participated. I've used leaguesafe.com in the past to keep the money and send out payments at the end of the year. If interested, please indicate so in the message board or email me (robgcubreporter@gmail.com). If enough are (probably need 8 or more owners to make it worth it), I'll set up a payment page on leaguesafe.com

• If you haven't done an Ottoneu draft before, familiarize yourself with the layout before the draft and throw some players on your watchlist. It helps move things along. Otherwise, I only have 1 rule. If you miss a turn nominating a player, you get a warning, second time I lock you out of the draft for a round of nominations. It's particularly important late in the draft when NOT nominating someone can become an advantage. But it also keeps things moving. Usually we take a 10-minute break after about an hour or two of drafting to stretch the legs, get snacks and bathroom breaks and such. If Ottoneu freezes up during the draft and it affects multiple owners that wanted to place bids on a player and they couldn't, I've removed the player and put them right back in the auction.

• Waiting on one more response and not to put pressure on that person, but the only time slot that was available for everyone was Sunday, October 17th at 6pm EST. *Fingers crossed* Two of indicated 3-6pm EST on that day was a no go, so at some point I'll reach out to you to see if there's a more specific time to see if we could start a little earlier, but for now plan on 6pm EST on the 17th.

• I have conflicts here and there so hopefully somebody has some method to find a time for everybody. The first draft started yesterday and it took them two hours to draft 76 guys. Money is already drying up so it will speed up I assume, but they do still have 224 guys to auction off. They split it into parts.

• i'm fairly flexible. I would like sometime on or around the weekend of the 16th, but that is a preference more than a need. also, do we have an idea of how long the draft may take? maybe 4+ hours? worth keeping in mind.
