Well, if you read the charter there are additional reasons for that record keeping. Dates involved that prevent players from being drafted in the MiLB draft, etc. So, in season if you promote a player it's always going to cost you $1, what you choose to do with that $1 player, either via trade, drop, etc. is then time stamped for sake of those rules in the charter. I'll get him promoted now.

And I apologize if I didn't understand all this either... I guess I think it's dumb that in season, it's going to cost $1 penalty to drop a guy from your MiLB, even if he's never promoted (real life or Ottoneu roster) and never plays in the MLB, just for bookkeeping purposes.
As for this situation, since I missed the cut by less than two hours, and it's going to cost me a $1 penalty to drop him either way... Then now I'd like to promote him, so I can have the extra MiLB draft spot

Had you requested the cut prior to the deadline, it would have been a $0 cut. Since it was technically in season, he's then subject to the same roster rules as any other player. So correct, no more dropping direct from the MiLB rosters. My apologies if I wasn't more clear about that on the 23rd.

So, just to make sure I understand... If he's on my MiLB roster now, and we start the season, I'll need to promote him, and then cut him, for a $1 penalty? There's no more just dropping from the MiLB rosters for free during the season?

Ok, I'm happy to reverse the transaction in that instance. This was what I'd mentioned on the 23rd that I've done a bad job about doing the last season or two. Promoting shows in the players profile, and it's really more of a bookkeeping thing...but I want to stay true to the original charter which I'd gotten away from. Sorry Scotch.

This is MiLB, can't you just drop him from my roster on the Excel sheet? If I can't drop him now, and I would have to promote him during the season to drop him and get a cut penalty, then don't bother, leave him on there, and I'll just lose the MiLB draft spot, and I'll cut him from my MiLB as soon as the season starts.

Scotch, it appears the time stamp would have been on the request at 10:50 PM Pacific time, which is technically past the 11:59 PM EST keeper lock time. So, the promotion can happen at any time during the season, but that's why it'll require a "2023" drop.

Scotch, as I'd mentioned a week or two back, I have to promote to active rosters to initiate a drop. He's been promoted.

By all means do. I'd like to have slots full prior to our MiLB draft, which I don't think should be a big issue. Babe Ruth's squad has some real pieces too.

As you can see, I've abandoned OG's Ugly Sox. Dan that had joined opted out for this upcoming season. I did chat with Wayne, who is still recovering and he said he didn't think he could maintain. Unfortunately Babe Ruth hasn't checked in since September, so I'm guessing he's not going to be joining us for the season and I'll be abandoning that squad as well.

Jim, I've promoted him to your squad. I think I've been doing this the wrong way for the last couple of years, in that we should at least show the footprint of having them "on a roster" even with the cut. So I'll promote for a manual cut moving forward, just FYI. Totally transactional and for visibility on the players page.
