Hey folks, we're about 36 hours out from the end of arbitration. If I haven't ANY money left over please make sure you use it, because if you don't none of your arb dollars will apply. If there are peeps that still haven't completed them by tomorrow I'll probably ask for proxies by which to do so. Some peeps like to wait until the last minute, I get that but if you're one of those that's just waiting...a heads up would be appreciated so I don't get a proxy for you.

Well that's a real bummer! We're also losing our pal Maddy unfortunately (Coney Island). I'll hit the Slack channel to look for replacements...but if anyone knows of anyone that wants in, let's get them in there. Everyone else in? Also...arbitration opens in 5 days, don't forget!

Hi Commish and owners, congrats to the winners, wanted to say it's been a pleasure playing with all of you this season. Got way too many leagues and cannot maintain the rythm (time consuming and $$$). So I won't be renewing many of my leagues like this one, got some talent to attract new owner for next year so you should be able to quickly fill vacancy. have a good arb and a great future season! Thanks Commish for great work

I do not believe in forever rebuilds and do not wish to he the Colorado rockies. I am all for a time limit on illegal rosters though and my roster was most illegal when i was busy a couple months ago for non fanatsy reasons!

Sorry everyone for the spam email blasts! I wanted to put my excess dollars to use and nominated a bunch of people on the last day. I only wanted colby Thomas but may end up keeping some more. Will be legal by end of season, i did not expect to hoard these players into arb and was mainly hoping i could sneak colby tbomas thru. Last year i was basically the chicago white sox and this year I achieved my goal of improving on my end of year points. Next year my plan is to start finally competing

Not to take a punitive view on this, but what is the consequence of having an illegal roster? Last weeks/month of the season, if you're already out of it, what's to keep someone from just buying every player and having a super illegal roster? If the only Ottoneu restriction is that you can't make lineup moves, then there's nothing to keep someone from doing that, preventing everyone else from picking up anyone, and then just dumping everyone just before the offseason. Pretty fun.

Please do your best to keep your rosters legal. Also, do remember going into the offseason your team must also be legal.

Is there something we can do about teams with illegal rosters winning auctions? West Rogers won two auctions this morning when their roster is already over the max. That seems like something that should be disallowed somehow.

I gotta say, everyone can have fun but just because you have cap space doesn’t mean they get a bargain on a great player and also cap space.

I made a mistake offering too much for semien and had to get rid of him before the trade deadline. It sucks that it was to the first place team but yakult is giving of st louis top prospect (1 dollar) for a half a season rental, and had to do whats best for my team. I shopped semiens around. Also, Gleybar is available who is keepable at 7

You can start an auction for new draftees. The 5Milb draft in the offseason is only for minor leaguers not on a roster (40 man Ottoneu or offline 5Milb).

As someone new to the 5 MiLB format, how does it work with new draftees? Are they off limits or anyone not auctions in season is available to draft offline for 5 MiLB?

@Coney, it's cool, I'd rather someone point out when something seems off, especially if it involves an inexperienced player. Probably ends up hindering my team most of all, but oh well, lesson learned. It would be nice if there was more transparency built into the trade process, like if there was a chance for others to counter, not how Otto works though.

I very much understand a $65 or $67 Soto next year is a big chunk of salary and trading him away could be beneficial. There is also a price for contending teams to play for a top bat that you should try for. If this is the best value for you and your team, cool. This is meant to be fun for all. I did not mean for my message to imply otherwise. It was more so having an impact on the league dynamics not just for this year.

North coast you aren't even that far out of the lead! Although i am still on my goal to beat my score last season.... i also am rebuilding. I ca n trade bogaerts, eloy, Gleybar types for good miilb guys, prospects or keepers

I'm rarely inclined to reverse a trade, I don't believe that's great for league health either. These could for sure change the league dynamic moving forward because those pieces have built-in surplus for next year.

To clarify, my thinking on Soto was that his salary was high enough that he's essentially a rental for this season, but sounds like there's more value than was apparent. I defer to the league on what they'd like to do, not trying to take a hardline if there's a consensus on these.

Understand the rebuild, but those pieces are great to rebuild around. Just saying a $18 Cease will hold value into next season and Soto is a top 10 bat or better each year.

Sorry, I've been checked out over this ASB. Those are pretty disparate trades, Coney is right about that. Of course the league is entitled to vote to veto or whatever, should they feel the delta is too large. For any keepable assets like those guys, at those prices, just know that you generally should be able to command a bunch more for those guys.
