3 WEEKS LEFT & PLENTY TIGHT! Basically, every above .500 team could still make it (depending on how this week ends). Good luck out there!

Yo! It's getting tight at the top of the Board. It will be a fun final 5 weeks of matchups to see who hangs onto playoff spots, who goes forward, and who suffers the indignity of decline at the hands of an indifferent Ottoneu god. Good luck to all who are still in contention! And for those of us who are not (even if "mathematically" eligible), may we play spoilers. Cheers!

Fun Fact: Quinn Priester, who debuted today for Pittsburgh, played high school ball in Cary, Illinois. Multiple friends I grew up with teach at the high school and were posting congratulatory messages to his family today. A good friend since I was 4 was one of Quinn's coaches and math teachers (and is the school's assistant athletic director these days). As you were!
-
I'm firmly playing spoiler with my s*** record. Trade block updated recently, some pieces for contenders available!
-
Good luck, everyone! If my math is decent, we have 14 matches left (incl. an extended one starting this Friday). About 6 weeks to the trade deadline. Evaluate guys for the future. Make daring or desperate acquisitions. Enjoy!

Lol that you did Theo! Although it doesn't sting as bad having flipped Pfaadt and some young pitching for Kyle Tucker

Carita Bombs may be in first, but at least I won that Pfaadt/Eury Perez trade.
-
Danke! My bullpen really came through.
-
Hah just seeing this Lake, also good W sir.
-
Eury Perez with the game of the year so far
-
Congrats to Carita on being the first to 10K!
-
Thanks, Vestal! Fun game--esp. for my first attempt. Got 7 of 9. Cheers!
-
You guys are probably way ahead of me, but if you haven't seen it: https://www.immaculategrid.com/

Carita you absolute sonuvabitch, I have my best showing in a month and you STILL down me. Well done sir. If a couple of my young bucks can stay in the game for more than three innings, I might have a chance against you this week.
-
Things are heating up! Going to be a fun stretch run that is for sure

Cheers, Cigar! I was cracking up to see I was at 900 points….and losing handily! Lance Lynn with 16 Ks today!? Diabolical—and awesome. Cheers, man.

Maybe because we have a lot of fun names in MLB now, like an RP named Holderman or an alliterative masterpiece like Freddie Freeman, but I'm thinking tonight of names from my earliest baseball awareness years (circa 1980). I loved names like Enos Cabell, Bake McBride, Vida Blue, and (another alliterative masterpiece) Bill Buckner. Any ballplayer names ever catch your attention and make you pay more attention to baseball when you were a kid?
-
For those of us chomping at the bit to see more touted prospects called up, we might see welcomed movement on that front in the next 10 days. The time left on the season is dipping below 120 days, so most teams are clearing the Super Two threshold. They can promote without concern of the player qualifying for early arbitration.
-
Danke schoen! Thanks Carita or, uh in your face? I dunno this is a thing where a bunch of adult men play pretend so I’m not gonna stunt too hard. And congrats to Northern Lights for being the overall points leader! Methinks you will Athletics your way back into the season and make it to the yoffs. Well, the As from a few years ago, not the current As.
-
Absolutely good show for Loons—but I’m sure hoping you stay high on the OPL board, Carita! Represent the league! :)
-
Props to Loons for knocking me off my high horse! Good W
-
Hey Ace Deuce: looks like Ji-Hwan is not, in fact, Bae.
…
I’ll see myself out.
-
Things that might interest only me: MLB bros Luis Urias and Ramon Urias are sidelined with strained hamstrings.
-
Appreciate the support Northern! I’m definitely up against it, that’s for sure. I was hoping I could find my way to first over the weekend. Got as high as 3rd, but sunk back a bit. I’ve had a lot of things break my way this year, hopefully the good luck continues!
-
Hey, I'm not looking for Carita to run the table--maybe get your heart broken in the finals in our league? :) --BUT, Carita is in 6th in OPL right now. That's really awesome. Fingers crossed! Would love to see your team keep rocking on the OPL board, especially because you are up against some teams that have gamed their leagues so they have $450 - $600+ to spend on line ups. (OPL might need a few controls.)
-
y'all are leaving us in the dust
-
Love the confidence Theo, but I think not
-
I tell you what: We are some player-cuttin’ fools this week!
-
Carita Bombs making a trade ahead of our matchup. Dont worry I am still giving you your first loss.
-
Unfortunately it is apparently pronounced “Faat” - long A - which is the bummer of the year.
-
Pfaadt Bottomed Girls?
-
I hope Pfaadt turns out to be gold, because he has amazing team name pun potential in OPL! Pfaadt Tuesday, Pfaadt Chance, Pfaadt Albert (full credit to Lake Gage)....
-
Good add on Lamonte Northern, made my comment assessed my roster, came back too late bc the auction ended lol
-
Hah! Thanks guys. Also, I came oh so close to starting Pfaadt today Loons, I would've been trying to figure out the same thing. Northern, I have another league in OPL and that team narrowly squeaked by as well "Scranton Cuttlefish" sitting in 158th
-
Is it possible for an Ottoneu manager to pull a pitcher, looking at you Braxton Garrett you sob
-
Ha! Yes. The “Mr Irrelevant” reference made me look up the lowest drafted MLB HOFer: Mike Piazza, who was selected by the Dodgers with the 1,390th pick (62nd Round) in 1988.
-
Well done to Carita and Northern Lights - our OPL star and (practically) Mr. Irrelevant respectively.
-
Also, Carita ended month one in 35th in the OPL! (I narrowly survived the OPL cutline, squeaking by in 157th.) Excelsior!
-
Please Carita don’t hurt ‘em! 8-0 it’s like the damn Rays.
-
Loved the Drew Maggi story, awesome for him and good on the Pirates organization. They've been drug in recent years for their incompetence, but they're doing a fantastic job on the field as well as off the field to begin this year. Good to see.

This week's "How can you not be romantic about baseball?" moment: Drew Maggi--the 33-year-old rookie--getting his first hit after the Pirates informed him he'd be shipped back to the minors ... but not before they named him the 27th man for their double header. Baseball is fun. ALSO: If MLB ever schedules April games in Mexico City (aka, on the moon), I'll be targeting players from those teams in the Ottoneu draft.
-
Good god man, or should I say good god Manfred. SD’s City Connects are great, as painful as it is for me to admit that as a Dodgers fan. Much better than ours, the concept of which seems to be “they’re blue.”
-
I think I read that the humidors for the balls in Mexico City were kept at the non-Coors temps, which may have added to that onslaught. Those unis, though!

Well, I was on my way to cruising to a win until Mexico City elevation struck my Padres pitchers. Whenever expansion comes to Mexico City, that shit is going to be a band box that will make Coors Field look tepid.
-
Soderstrom and Eury Perez on the block for any rebuilding team. Looking for a star hitter in return.
-
For anyone who might need SP slots filled soon, there are some interesting FA 2-start SPs on the list for the week of May 1, including three with 5+ P/IP this season (Smyly, Wells, Battenfield).
