What happens if you win an auction without an empty roster spot to put that player into? Does the next highest bidder automatically win? Or do you get a chance to release someone else first?
-
If you win and can't afford/don't have room for the player it will still add them to your roster, and you just have to make cuts to get your roster legal ASAP, as you won't accumulate points when it's in "invalid" state. It's kind of unclear to me what the deadline is to fix your roster to avoid the penalty.

Thanks for fixing the Anibal situation. Coop let me know if you want to borrow him again.

Awesome, thanks! What a strange quirk of the system haha.
-
Problem solved!

It looks like it moved Sanchez to my team because it wouldn't let me remove my bid. Commish can you move him back to Yellow or should I do a trade with him or how should we handle this?

Yellow Hammers's trade block has been updated!

Yeah, he should definitely be on my team. I didn't drop him, nor was he my arbitration player (I wish he was!!).
-
Upton and at Them's trade block has been updated!
-
Same here, hopefully that doesn't screw anything up
-
My attempt to withdraw my bid (placed before I realized what had happened to him) is not working. I'm following the directions to withdraw a bid and it's telling me that the bid is invalid.
-
I put animal back in his rightful place. I can't cancel the auction though so not sure what happens when that's over. I'd recommend no one bid on it. Let me know if anyone else is missing a player

Wooden Bread's trade block has been updated!

Sanchez appears to have been mistakenly removed from Yellow Hammers. He should probably be put back on them.
-
Just caught up on all these messages and have a feeling Sanchez was released from someone's team as well. Was just looking through the free agent pitching earlier and saw him and started an auction, didn't read the messages til now. ?? if he was dropped by accident can you cancel the auction I started and put him back on his team?
-
Can you remove me from the team Matt? Thx
-
Coop and Rolling Thunder's trade block has been updated!
-
I think if two players had same number of votes in arb voting, it released both regardless of the tiebreaker.
-
Carlos Gomez was removed from my team :( Can you add him back?
-
All - There appears to have been a glitch in the system. Jonathon Lucroy was removed from my team. You can check out transaction history and his player page. I did not drop him. As such, I will be adding him back to my roster at his original salary with my commissioner tools. Let me know if you see a similar issue with your rosters.

Cellar2Interstellar's trade block has been updated!

Alright, great draft everyone. I have closed that, so full roster management should be available. Also, per our prior vote, I changed our league to allocation system (instead of vote off). Good luck this year all (except Wooden Bread who doesn't need any help- we're all playing for 2nd).
-
@PlasticOno: glad you were able to fill the vacancy so quickly. Reminder draft is this afternoon at 4pm ET
-
Also, we still have a few owners with renewal dates over the next few weeks. Remember to check that out and renew now!
-
The cap carries into the season. The ways to get additional money are to trade for it in season or to cut players. Cutting players provides half of their salary back to your budget.
-
Thanks...And if a cut player is picked up you get their full salary back correct?

Do we get additional money for in-season moves or does our auction budget/cap carry over to season?

@YH: yes, if we switch, it would take effect after 2015 season.
-
If we would be changing to allocation would it take place after this season for the first time since we have already gone through the voting off process for this year?
-
Yeah, they are just nominated like other players.
-
Allocation sounds good. First time in Ottoneu -- How does bidding on the voted off players work during auction? Are they nominated and bid just like any other player?

Allocation sounds like the better option to me.
-
Sounds OK to me.
-
Yeah I guess I'm not opposed to it, although I'm sure I'd be getting $36 at the end of the season.
-
Also, Josh Hamilton on a roll...
-
No objections here, I prefer allocation myself
-
Random question as I anxiously await the draft. This league has stuck with the original "vote-off" arbitration. Most other leagues switched to the new "allocation" arbitration where each team has money to assign to players on other teams. I'm in favor of switching to "allocation". Anyone have any objections?
