Opening day!!
-
You set one lineup per day (just like last year). At the end of the week your team's stats are compared to 2 other teams and you are awarded up to 2 wins or loses for that week. As apposed to last year, when you were only compared to one team, and got 1 win or loss.
-
I still don't understand this setting of two matchups. I'm hoping I'm not the only one. But it is possible I'm just not that smart. Can someone point me in the right direction? I have my typical line up page. Will that be the same line up for both match ups?? Season starts tomorrow so I'd like to be clear. Thanks in advance.
-
That feeling you get when you think you have money to burn but forget you have a roster space cap.....Good way to waste $11.
-
Man I have changed that thing like 10 times. Hopefully it sticks now.
-
If you click on our leagues setting it shows only one matchup per week as the saved setting. If you switch it to two it should update and show both matchups
-
Word is they are rolling out today and tomorrow. From Niv: "Schedules are being generated right now. If you see any issues, i.e. not the right number of games or playing the same team multiple times in a week or anything like that, let me know.
There should be a slight favoring of divisional opponents vs non-divisional opponents, but schedules are not truly unbalanced."
-
Our league settings haven't been changed from 1 matchup per week to 2 yet. My other leagues are updated to reflect 2 matchups for the week.
-
A good question. I've asked Niv for clarification on how and when the matchup changes will be reflected. I'll let you know when I know. My other league has yet to see the change as well. I believe they have to regenerate the schedules at some point. Probably waiting to do them at once?
-
So where do we see our second matchup of the week? Looks like we only have one matchup for this week.
-
OK- looks like we are going with 2 matchups per week. Thank you all for voting. Excited to get this season started!
-
9 votes in- thank you! If you haven't voted please do as the results are still pretty close at this point: http://www.strawpoll.me/20429794/r

You can vote for more than one option. And I would point out that allowing more matchups per week would likely mitigate running into a team on a roll a few times and suddenly finding yourself out of the hunt in the second week of 8 (or however many there are).

"H2H leagues will be heavily affected by the short season. In order to reduce the variance and address the shortness of the regular season for H2H leagues with playoffs this year, we will be adding the option to have 1, 2, or 4 matchups per week. Teams will only set one lineup, but if they have 2 or 4 matchups that lineup will go against 2 or 4 teams each week instead of having a single game. "
-
YAY! We'll have a season; set to start July 27th. Ottoneu has created a new H2H option that will allow for multiple matchups per week to help H2H in this shortend season (but it will be an option in later seasons as well). Let's vote on whether we want to use it. I'll copy the options in the next message.
-
I agree with Bregman to stay at 7. I built my team with that mentality
-
Well, my thought is that there were always doubleheaders that popped up, so it probably won't matter too much. But maybe these will be more per week, but I haven't heard that anything is decided yet (including making those doubleheaders 7 innings). We can change the rules at any time it looks like on my end, so I say we wait until something has been decided. And then we can decide if the doubleheader schedule will be extreme enough to merit a fundamental rule adjustment.
-
There's also no need to make a change before they officially announce anything.
-
My vote would be stay at 7. I built my roster with that in mind and would need to make adjustments to my squad if the rule changed.
-
So, we went to 7 SP spots last year like a regular week's worth of games... with all these double headers coming, should we adjust a little? Can we adjust? Is it worth it ?
-
Every matchup will be a 0-0 tie until season starts. If you click on Coronavirus update at the very top of the page it explains it
-
I'm pretty sure it's just tinkering. No lineups needed to be set at this point.
-
Do we know what is going to happen now that the draft is over? I got a notice stating that we need to set our line ups by the 26th. Obviously there are no games. Are we just tinkering with our teams until the actual season starts or do we need to put a line up together each week regardless?
-
Sorry- missed a setting. Done now.
-
Commish, we good to finish the draft in your settings so we can proceed with free agents and trades?
-
Great Draft Everyone! Look for FA auctions starting soon and trades to shore up the holes and smooth over those mistakes! I'll update when we have a season start date.... I hope.
-
Just about an hour away from the draft! Get Hyped! Draft Room link is live on the upper left of this screen if you wanna check it out early or chat.
-
I guess now is as good a time as ever to plan my draft, amiright??
-
Amen brother
-
Just a reminder - draft is going forward tomorrow at 7pm CT. Let's focus on fake baseball for an evening and forget that the world sucks.
-
I know you usually want to keep more than ten players but.... the surpluses were so bad. Time to rebuild this team
-
Don't worry- we've all been there. Some of us are still there.
-
Hey folks -- sorry it took me so long. Still learning this platform but cuts will be finished today.
-
Yeah - I'm not in favor of moving the draft. Just wanted to bring it up as an option if people are worried about prep time.
-
While that is true, it is also true that it is really hard to find a time that works, and if we've been planning on this time I would hope people have set that into their schedule. Likely Sunday is the best option, no matter what. I also believe- if my reading of the unprecedented procedure is correct: Once the draft happens, regardless of when the season starts, we can begin trades. So we can also move players that way, if it helps.
-
We could also move the draft. I know that's logistically difficult, but it's not like we have a time crunch for 3/26 anymore. I read just now that the best case scenario is mid-June to start the season.
-
Welcome Zach! You should have a round of free cuts (but put them all in at once) prior to the draft on Sunday. Let me know if you have any questions or trouble with it. It would be polite to do them asap so others can adjust their draft strategy according to the available pool of players. ;)
-
No owner for Notural?
-
Fixed. Thanks Chaz!
-
Hey just in case this is a problem: your message said 7pm central, but the time on otto says 7pm EDT
-
OK- Draft is scheduled for Sunday, March 22nd at 7pm CT. I would expect no more than 3 hours.
-
Alright- please go vote for all possible draft dates and times. I prefer night as we often host a live local draft for KC people, but other options are ok with me as well. 3 hours is probably enough as many folks don't have a lot to draft htis year. https://doodle.com/poll/grurz6mr75xy2hff
-
Yes- we have a full league. Just waiting on an email address and then I'll send out a doodle poll for draft date.
-
We're a month away from the start of the season. Any closer to a draft date or a full league?
-
I'm actively searching for one more owner (Stewie's Minions will be here- she's just slow). The guy interested in the NOTural is even slower and I'm not confident he's really ready for Ottoneu. So I'm on the look out. I'd LIKE to get all the owners on board before scheduling the draft. So I'll delay scheduling just a little longer before we say - oh well and go forward without.
-
I will probably not be available until after the 17th. Before that I will be sailing from Mobile, AL to the Bahamas. I will be logging into the draft from my boat!

Iām good anytime.

Evening are great with me as well. Are we thinking mid-March so that spring training is closer to ending? I've got a new start up league drafting on March 14 and 15, so if we could avoid those days if at all possible it would be appreciated.
-
I am open to a lot of dates. Usually I am free in the evenings.
