That is very fun. Kind of wild that Tatis was never cut during his problematic years but it looks to have paid off

Possibly only of interest to me but I had meant to post this on opening day
-
Gentlemen, it's been a pleasure and an honor to sit atop the leaderboard for 1.5+ weeks, but the time has come for my squad to regress back to 10/11th place where we are more accustom to residing. At least baseball has finally returned!
-
Games that count start tomorrow at 6am ET! That will also mean that auction tiebreaks will shift from a coin toss to reverse standings order. Get those lineups set!
-
All - assuming we're all on board with the same arrangement as last season, please send me the $35 buy-in via PayPal at jwbixby at gmail dot com, including both your full name and your team's current name in the subject line. At the end of the year, we'll pay out $185, $125, $75, and $35 to the top finishers.
-
Tonight is the big night! Draft is at 8pm eastern time!

I think the penalty should be that I get Kerry Carpenter

Hearing no objections, I’ll commish this later today.

-
I'm not worried about it and am happy to make the cuts as commissioner actions. Any objections?
-
All- with EXTREME apologies, I must not have hit the final confirm button on my cuts. Clearly with all my 46 players... so very sorry. Happy to do any penalty that is imposed, I would propose sending my cuts to commishes and begging profuse forgiveness :(.
-
Reminder: the cut deadline is tonight at midnight!
-
Friday, March 7th is the day! We'll plan to start at 8 eastern if everyone can make that work. With all our time zones we probably don't have a ton of flexibility in terms of starting time, but might be able to push it around a little one way or another if need be.
-
Sorry can’t do the 14th now, family event that night.
-
8 responses to the draft time poll and we're still at 100% for the nights of Friday March 7th and 14th. If you haven't submitted your availability yet, please do when you get a chance!

Okay gang, time to find a draft time! This year we're going to try as hard as possible to schedule one of the first three Fridays or Saturdays in March so we can rent a house in Richmond for the weekend and do a breweries and draft weekend (if you're interested in that and haven't expressed your interest to anyone yet, let me, Kris, or Bixby know).
-
Arbitration ends in 3 days. Use those dollars!
-
Arb is live!
-
Please don’t forget my team’s record for Most Megill Brothers (2)
-
Some new records were set in 2024!! Don't Ryan On My Paredes set a record for triples with 58! The Infirmed was speedy on the basepaths with 290 stolen bases! Kremerica was only caught stealing 12 times! And Contreras Tour logged 113 holds!
-
Meant to do this earlier - by my records, I have league buy-ins from Doron, Brian, Jake (all three from last March), Dave, Andrew, Brennan (last couple days), and myself. If you're not on that list (and I didn't somehow miss you), I need the $35 before I can send out winnings. As Dave said, Paypal to jwbixby at gmail dot com, and please provide both your name and your team's name.
-
Congrats to Bix! A new champion! Love having a close race into September. Reminder, I hope everyone is sticking around but if you intend to bow out for next year, this first week of October is a good time to let it be known. We’ve got a great group here keeping the league competitive from top to bottom!
-
Congrats to Bixby on an amazing comeback and a dramatic championship! Very well played. I don't relish the thought of having to decide which of your players to allocate my $3 to this offseason. Thanks to the whole league for another successful season! (Also, I just went back through my PayPal history and realized I never sent Bixby my buy-in for the league this year. Please double check your own work as well and, if you haven't sent him the $35, do so through PayPal at jwbixby at gmail dot com)
-
It's certainly too close for comfort! 30 days to go and... Bixby outscored me by 400 over the 30 days. Yikes.
-
Is the title actually still undecided with a month to go??! Looks like it could be close!
-
11 pitchers on the IL *has* to be a record somewhere, right?
-
Is there a player with a longer transaction history than Michael Wacha? Someone who has been around since this league started but also has always been on the edge of rosterability?
-
I'm currently considering the possibility that my best opportunity to score positive points is by acquiring 0 IP the rest of the year.
-
Happy (real) Opening Day, all!
-
Good morning league! This is a reminder that our draft in tonight at 9pm eastern time. Yay draft day!
-
I'm happy to serve as trustee of the league funds again this year. If you want to paypal me the entry fee (jwbixby at gmail dot com) with a note including your name and your team's name, I can hold the funds until the end of the season.
-
Thanks, once again, Dave for putting in the leg-work to get it organized!
-
We are now 12 for 12 in confirming that the night of Match 8th works for the draft, so we're locking that in! Thank you all for somehow making this the easiest ever ottoneu draft to schedule, despite the 12 hour time difference between our most occidental and oriental members. I also have the full league's go-ahead to raise the buy-in to $35. We'll keep the ratios of prize payouts almost exactly the same, paying out $185, $125, $75, and $35 to the top finishers.
-
We're currently 11 for 11 on the night of March 8th working for our draft. I've tentatively booked it for 9pm eastern on that night. Please reach out to me directly with concerns, comments, or conflicts. I figure 9pm may be the sweet spot to accommodate our West Coast and Turkey contingents, but let me know if that isn't the case.
-
So far we're looking good for Friday nights in March. Still waiting on 2 people to fill out the survey, but hopefully one of those works for everyone!
-
How late would make sense?
-
Regarding the auction times, I’d appreciate if it could be late on a Friday or Saturday night EST, since I’m 8 hours ahead in Turkey and could wake up for it. Alternatively, a Saturday or Sunday morning for you all would be an evening for me. Also I’ll have no money so maybe none of this matters.
-
Hey all! I just sent out a Google form to try and get the draft scheduled. I also included a question about raising the league buy-in by $10 to see what the level of interest in that is. Please fill it out as soon as possible (and be generous with your availability pretty please!)
-
The keeper deadline is midnight tonight (EST)! Get those cuts done!
-
Stove is heating up near the end!
-
::on my fourth straight day of inadvisable levels of holiday day drinking::
“More like Johan Oh-Noviedo, amirite folks!!?
…anyway no I still haven’t responded to your trade offers but I’m getting there.”
-
Arbitration ends tomorrow! Please remember to get your allocations done!
-
(Just joking of course: you have to allocate at least $1 to each team. Davis Schneider's mustache alone looks worth the $1 hit from each of you, to be honest.)
-
Thank you! After 10 years of struggling, I do want to share a couple of the lessons learned from my championship year:
1) I never assigned any arb dollars to my team, and encourage you to follow suit.
2) I must be the league leader in off-season trade offers, and therefore 2023 showed a correlation between quantity of trade offers made and league championships. Look forward to an active off-season!
-
And my belated congratulations to our new champion, Doron! You really poured your GUTS out for this title. I'll try not to be Sour about it as runner-up, but you've truly represented the Best Of High School Musical: The Musical. Well-deserved!
