  • Player positional eligibility
    An offensive player is eligible to fill a position if he:
    Played in 10 or more regular season major league games at that position in the current or preceding year
    Started 5 or more regular season major league games at that position in the current or preceding year
    Played in 20 or more regular season minor league games at that position in the current or preceding year

    McLain didn't play last year at all so is only eligible of UTL

  • Anyone know why Matt McClain is only listed as UTIL? He's playing 2B in spring training. I'm guessing it's something that will be updated closer to the beginning of the season?

  • Correct. Also note, you need at least $1 available for every open roster spot under 40 or you will have an illegal roster.

  • If Javier or Bieber go on the 60 day IL list - they will automatically move off your 40 man roster - freeing roster spots while they are on the 60 day list.
