September 12, 2024 12:35 AM : Gil allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Wednesday.
Analysis: Gil did well in the contest, but he needed 97 pitches to get through five frames and thus didn't last long enough to pick up a second straight quality start. The right-hander has looked good since returning from a stay on the 15-day injured list, allowing just one run while posting a 12:4 K:BB over 11 innings. That's great news for the Yankees as the postseason looms, as Gil has been one of the team's best starters this year with a 3.18 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 156:70 K:BB over 135.2 frames.
