It is a 1 catcher league. You get 162 games at each position, but they have 2 slots since catchers miss so much time. Once you hit 162 games at catcher, you don't get those points. They do this so you don't have to watch the lineups so close every day.
-
When did this become a 2 C league as I thought we started 12 offensive players and 22 overall? Looks like C total games is still set at 162.

DRAFT - DRAFT IS NEXT SUNDAY AT 5PM ET!
-
Just to clarify; we will NOT be changing to head to head due to feedback.
-
The benefit of H2H is it provides weekly competition versus just 1 lonnnnnnnng game essentially. Of course there is randomness and that is why we all love baseball as the best team doesn't always win. I feel the reason we joined this league is to mirror real baseball as much as possible, but I am indifferent on scoring this year. Both of my other keeper leagues are H2H and they are extremely fun and have been for 8+ years.
-
I would agree with no H2H scoring.

You are worse than my wife, Dave.

I'm not OK with moving over to H2H scoring. It just introduces a bunch of randomness for no reason and I definitely wouldn't have signed up for a $100 dollar league with H2H scoring. If you want to do it next year then that's fine, but allow those who don't like H2H to leave the league (as we've already paid).

4 hours then determine if we want to keep going. I’d be down for a brief break, but 30 minutes seems a little much.
-
LEAGUE - if you're like me and have not given this league a second thought since signup, please be aware they just added head to head scoring. It's still based on Fangraphs points, but weekly matchups are against one other team, and we will have playoffs as opposed to the season just ending. This shouldn't in theory change much regarding draft preparation if you were planning on a cumulative points league, it's still points, just based on a H2H schedule.
-
Have we decided on a time limit for the 11th? 4 hours? 3 hours? What are people thinking. Maybe 4 with a 30 mins break in the middle?
-
Draft reminder: we will NOT be able to complete the draft on the 11th, so please be prepared to discuss the 2nd half of the draft on the 11th.

PLEASE READ: I have heard the draft can take up to 8 hours, so we will definitely break this out. I will be following up with useful links for you Ottoneu newbies. I know everyone here has been playing fantasy baseball for a long time, but this is a unique format.

Does anyone know when the 2018 auction values come out?
-
Just an FYI; the auction order is determined by who signed up first. Moving forward, it is by standings. Not that important in an Auction format, but good to know.
-
Agree message board is better, get a Gmail - I also was thinking about the length of the draft and if we need a second day i think we just cross that bridge when we get there and call it at 4 hrs, otherwise people are going to be picking with reckless abandon.
-
I like this message board for communication.
-
We can figure out the remaining piece while we are all together at one time. Plan on coordinating after the draft on the 11th.
-
4 hours won't be enough for the draft, so we may want to consider extending it to longer on Sunday to get over with in one big swoop OR scheduling the second session of the draft as well

I have kids too so later is always better for me too. But I am good for whatever. I would just always rather kill a Sunday with a draft than kill a Saturday. Also I downloaded Slack....and not sure what to do with it. I think we are one more new app away from getting this all figured out!
-
I’m good for whatever

Draft is set for Feb. 11th at 5:00pm EST. Please review ALL the rules and scoring and Merry Christmas!

Seems like from Doodle or Diddle or whatever that polling app is 8 people could do February 11, 2017, from 3 PM to 7 PM EDT for the draft. I have two children that necessitate care - is anyone opposed to bumping it to 5 to 9 PM EDT so that I might feed them dinner and see them before I die drafting 48 rounds of baseball? Thanks.
