The Mountain King'ers are scuffling. We'll be having a closed door meeting today. We'll also have the players dress up like their favorite character from "Old School", just to keep things loose.

Bollocks. I guess I'm going to play Carlos Santana at 1B for a while, then. :)
-
Yeah, 2 catcher spots will give you the chance to get 162 games out of position where no one will ever actually play 162. Points in the bank are still points, but you can probably just sit your catchers against tougher pitchers from here on out...
-
This is simply for convenience, if you want to run a platoon or something similar. You are only allowed 162 games at C total in a season.
-
that messed me up big time. did not read the rules carefully and thought it was a 2 catcher league. here is what the rules say: "ottoneu is a 1-catcher game, but there are two catcher spots in the offseason Roster Organizer and on the Lineups page.
-
Why are there two starting C spots and only 162 games allowed? I suppose I should be leaving one spot open every game?

How many negative points was that Kelly Shoppach throw worth?

@ROUS, man that sucks. The negative points aspect is probably the most demoralizing part of Ottoneu :)
-
Kelvin Herrera. 2 outs, 3 HRs, 1 BB. -42.77 pts. Ugh.

Some interesting pitching stats after the first week. Second fewest IP in the league. #1 in walks issued...sigh...

in another league, I had Will Middlebrooks firmly planted on my bench for his 3 HR day, so you're not the only one

Oh my. John Axford. What has become of you?

Oh yes..one thing you can count on...over thinking it by this guy. I make Joe Girardi's binder look like something reasonable.

Excellent managerial decision by me today on not starting Ramos. Who needs his 29 pts anyway?
-
This is going to be a terrible season for the Blue Meth Empire...much like Giancarlo's demise at the end of Breaking Bad Season 4

Well, shame on me, I guess. Learning experience for next time.

Nope, I was wrong. Waiver claim is at full salary. Auction must start at half salary.
-
Yes. When a player is cut, he goes on waivers at half (rounding up) what his salary had been. Lower team in standings has priority. If he clears, he can be auctioned at any price.
-
Sorry for the double post.

Yeah, it's a blind auction, you don't get to run it up like at the general auction. It's the waiver wire that actually confused me. Victor Martinez was cut and went on waivers, but not put up for auction?

Apparently, you don't get a notification email for someone outbidding you on a free agent. I had no idea there was a new bid on Nolasco. I would've spent $10 on him. Bad Ottoneu.
-
Today, I thank Michael Morse for disproving my theory that A.J. Griffin won't give up homeruns to the Mariners at home in Oakland. Kudos to you, Sir.

Everyone be sure to check out Felix's trading block. The information presented there is in accordance with the high standards of professionalism established by this league.
