I don't really care - we can hold the vote at the end of the year. I never said I wanted any rule change to go into effect this year unless it was 100% unamious. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I didn't think the rule change I proposed was controversial. I voted for the current rule, but after looking at potentially trying to make some trades I just thought the rule had some major weaknesses. Good luck to everyone and boofuckingwho!

I feel like maybe Dave Spracale has hacked some accounts in this league. It feels a bit like we all need to just sit down with a truckload of budlight watch rocky and blast Patton quotes and pass some rules...next season. We aren't going to change basic rules for 2017in mid stream but anyone who wants to propose a rule change can type up a proposal and we can schedule a vote on it. They are also encouraged to try to persuade members in the most amiable manner they can muster.

I already said I am proposing it for next year unless it was unamious. It won't affect anything this year. I am just looking at the trade options this year and opportunities for cheating and I think our current rules allow for worse problems than we have ever had before.

i think y'all should get a room...to change the rules now, or even propose changing them, alters the way this season plays out...we all knew the rules drafting...i think dallas may see the writing on the wall and want to do something prospectively, though it impacts things that have already transpired...i vote no...emphatically no...and my team sucks, so whatever

I don't believe the rules are lame or random. It's a salary cap league. We all had the same amount of money. No one forces a team to open their wallet for Anthony Rizzo ($49), Nolan Arenado ($55) or Bryce Harper ($60). And those three are bargains compared to my $76 Mike Trout.

I'm fine with that. Wouldn't want to change the rules mid-stream unless everyone was for it. I am just proposing it for next year because the rules right now are kinda lame and random.

And by "penalty free deadline" I mean the penalty free cut deadline that happens after the season is over. That would mean that the random players that get the additional $1 added on to their salary presumably would be on the team that has them next year.

I am not wedded to the figures I threw out on the luxury tax, but I think that is more effective than just having a hard cap (and more like real MLB).

I think the hard cap discourages creative trades and makes trading expensive players and cheap rookies nearly impossible (for instance, I essentially can't trade Bryce Harper for anyone but expensive players, artificially limiting his trade market to returns for players that cost more than $20, even if a $1 rookie is killing it). I don't like the creation of super teams with no ramifications for the next year either and I think a luxury tax fixes that rather than a hard cap.

Rule change proposal - I would like to change the hard cap of $440 and instead institute a luxury tax. If any team goes above $440 then for every $3 above $440, they get $1 added to a player after the penalty free deadline passes. Any team that goes below $350, they get $1 added for every $3 below $350 they go. I would be fine with instituting the rule for this year if there is unanimous approval but if there is not, I would like a vote on a luxury tax system for next year.
