Hey guys ... hadn't checked on things after getting my roster in order a little while ago, but now my roster page is reading 5 players short of a roster (which is fine) but $40 over the cap. No clue what changed ... am I going to have to trim that money pre-draft? Can I even draft with a cap situation like that?

Reminder to everyone that our auction draft will be tomorrow at 8:00pm ET! I have something ending 30 minutes before, so I will likely show up close to start time, but I will definitely be there to get us started. Thanks, Scott.
-
Thanks everyone. I got most of the survey responses in, and Wednesday, March 23 at 8:00pm ET is the only time that seems to mostly work for everyone. I'm going to go ahead and lock that in for us so no one schedules something that time. If that won't work for anyone, please let me know ASAP. Thanks! Scott

Hey, it looks like we're going to have an MLB season! As such, we need to get our auction in by Opening Day on April 7. Can everyone please fill out this scheduler so we can find a time that works for everyone? https://whenisgood.net/j3ixh95
-
Thanks, Tom. Does anyone else have an opinion about whether we should schedule the auction now or wait?
-
I vote we schedule. Feel like by the time we find a common date there will be some kind of resolution anyway, good or bad…
-
Thanks to everyone for getting their keepers done on schedule. Next up, we need to decide what to do with the auction. We are allowed by Ottoneu to have it any time now, but let's start with a question. Should we schedule something now (especially since we often have trouble finding days/times that work for everyone), or should we wait until we learn more about the MLB season? Please send a league message with either "Schedule" or "Wait" to indicate your preference, and f

Hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl! It looks like the keeper deadline remains tomorrow despite the labor uncertainty, so everyone get your cuts in. After, we can figure out what to do about the auction.

Eric tells me they extended the deadline by 2 weeks, which I would have realized if I read the big banner at the top of the screen. My bad! But still think about making your cut decisions.
-
Hey, guys. I'm posting a message to let you know the cuts deadline is 1 week from today. Please get your teams under the roster and salary limits so that you have at least $1 to spend for every empty roster spot below the cap. This also means you have 1 week to make any trades you want, and those will not be allowed between the deadline and the auction draft. Thanks!

I'm seeing that now, but something doesn't seem quite right. I remember allocating to all 11 teams but I have none for Flu-Like Symptoms listed. I guess it's fine either way, just some teams will get a bit of a discount.
-
Is it possible both teams arbs couldn't "process" because they only allocated to 10 other squads? For example I don't see any allocations from Ninety Percent Mental for my team.
-
I posted the issue on the forums and Niv is looking into it. I attached a screenshot as well.
-
Oh yeah, I can see that issue for both Dave and you. So odd. Let me know if you want me to reach out to Niv then - since I can see those attempted allocations, I can give him a screenshot too.

If you go to the Arb Results page and navigate to my team from the drop-down menu, does it show my attempted allocations? It does for me, and it seems that it did the same thing to Dave as well. I can see his allocations that were attempted but not applied. I will see if Niv knows why.
-
That is weird, I don't think I've seen that happen before. I don't seem to have any commissioner tools to let me change arbitration allocations for teams. Maybe send a screenshot of your screen that says the arbitration allocations were attempted but not applied to Niv who runs Ottoneu (niv@ottoneu.com) and see if he knows why that happened?

I'm not sure exactly what happened but none of my arbitration allocations were applied. On my page it shows all of the allocations were attempted but not applied. I have no idea what that means. Does anyone know?
-
Hey, all. Arbitration opened today, and so you have a month to click on the Arbitration link on the main nav bar and allocate $25 among all the teams. Let me know if anyone is unsure about the process. Thanks!
-
Thanks everyone for a great season. I'm excited I finally won the league, and Steve kept me sweating until the final day. Arbitration opens on October 15, and I'll send out a message to remind everyone when it starts. Let me know if you have questions, and otherwise, enjoy the baseball postseason and football.
-
Couldn’t resist on Lindor, so now I have a SS surplus. If anyone has interest in Turner, Franco, or one of my depth guys, let me know.
-
I don't know much, but I do know having Rafael Devers, Kyle Seager and Ke'Bryan Hayes means I have too many third baseman. If you need some help at the hot corner, please let me know. TZ (todd.zola@gmail.com)

That's awesome! We sure do have great taste playing in this league, don't we? (Or are we less filling?) Enjoyed the article, especially the quotes from those fantasy experts.

Remember to set your lineups! We have baseball tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for a smooth auction. With that complete, you can nominate players if you want or need to. Otherwise, I'll try to remind everyone to set lineups a day or so before the season starts. Good luck!
-
Reminder to everyone that our auction is this coming Monday at 8pm ET.

Should be good by me!

Hey, everyone. Still no updates on if MLB Opening Day will get pushed, but I want to go ahead and designate Monday, March 22 at 8:00pm ET as our auction time. Schedules only seem to get worse for everyone in April anyway, so it looks like that is our best bet. Let me know ASAP if that won't work for you. Otherwise, I'll send a reminder when we're getting close. Thanks.

I expect the auction to take about 3 hours, so we'll need to find that sized window for everyone. Meanwhile, I extended the possible dates until late April following the news that MLB is debating a delayed-start 154-game season. Since IDK when they will decide, just go ahead and put everything that works, and I'll wait to designate the draft time until we have that decision locked in. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for getting their cuts in on schedule. Next up, we need to find a time when we all can have the auction. Please follow this link and highlight all the times that would work for you: https://whenisgood.net/zy4jhji

After that Sunday night deadline, I'll get the ball rolling on planning for the auction. Thanks!

Hey all. Just pointing it out that this is the last week to make your cuts without salary penalties. You need to get under $400 of committed salaries minus $1 for every roster spot below 40.
-
Hey, all. Please welcome Justin Pendel who will be taking over Springfield Mystery Spot for Tristan.

In addition, Tristan isn't going to play in 2021, so if anyone has a friend who'd be interested in picking up his squad (Springfield Mystery Spot), let me know. Thanks!

Hey, all. Arbitration season is happening from now until mid-November. At your convenience, click on the Arbitration header and use the dropdown to go team by team, allocating at least $1 and as much as $3 to increase player salaries for every team. Thanks!

Congrats Eric on the victory this season! Hopefully that offers some consolation for your Phillies falling short.

In Ottoneu, you can start any pitcher as either a SP or RP at any time, but you only get points if his appearance matches the position you started him in.
-
I see in the covid notes that its 5 starts to gain position eligibility this year. Does anyone know if thats the same for pitchers? 5 seems like a lot of starts or relief appearances given the length of the season.
-
From my perspective, everything seems set such that I won't need to make any commissioner type changes. I know it isn't ideal that we drafted early, but there wouldn't have been a fair solution regardless given the pandemic. Let me know if you have questions, but otherwise, hope we have an enjoyable, short season.
-
I think the major takeaways are that all of the inning and game caps are pro-rated as expected for a 60-game season, that no player loses positional eligibility they have now in 2021, and there is an "opt out" roster spot to stash players and regain a usable roster spot (but not regain salary).

Hey, all. Circling back to remind everyone to set their lineups for the season starting this Thursday!
-
Thanks to everyone for showing up on time for the auction. We clocked in at 2:45, which I think is our best time yet. I ended the auction formally, so you should now be able to do regular season activities like adding players and trading. I'll send out a reminder when the season kicks off to set your lineups.
-
And according to this update I found, innings and other PT will pro-rate to the number of actual MLB games played: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/coronavirus-update/7244
-
Sorry to say that you can't drop players before the auction. You'll be able to cut them after, but half of their salary will be dead money for your team. But remember you can trade money, too, if that will help.
-
I'm assuming no and in fact tried earlier today to confirm; site wouldn't allow it. But if we are, please do let me know as I'd also like to cut one!
-
Pardon my ignorance, too many league, too many rules. Can we drop current keepers previous to the auction? Thanks.
-
Question, will innings limits be prorated to account for however many games long the season ends up being? I'm assuming it won't be 162.
-
Anyway, it sounds like people are generally in favor of going ahead with the auction this Wednesday at 8pm ET, so let's plan on that. If anyone disagrees, let us know ASAP. Thanks!
