Each team has $25 to place on the other team's rosters, you have to add at least a dollar to every team, and you can't add more than $3 to a certain roster. The main purpose is to add to players whose salaries offer the most surplus/have too much value. For instance, I have Juan Soto for $36 in my other league. I see a lot of teams adding arb dollars to his salary to make him less valuable.

This is my first Otto league, can someone explain how the arbitration works again, thanks!

Iām open to make some moves as well. Stanton, along with some cheap keepers and others are looking to joint a team trying to make a run at the championship.

Open to making another move or two before the deadline, players like Lewis, Soroka, etc. are available, as are most injured guys not helping me (outside Buehler w/out massive returns). If someone is helping my team though will need to replace their performance and add value elsewhere this season to make sense to move. Feel free to reach out with ideas.

I'm looking to move Bogaerts, Kershaw or possibly Rendon for future value.

Is there a particular time for the keeper deadline tomorrow or is it just midnight of the timezone we are in?
-
Reminder. Any player on your roster after the keeper deadline will count towards your 2020 salary cap.

Draft date is 3/13 at 9pm EST/6pm PST

Hey guys. I underestimated how much time it'd take to add another league. I'm sorry i'm bailing so quickly after joining, but I don't think I can commit to the league for another year. It's been a ton of fun and this is a great league. I really want to take this team and compete this next year with it, but I'll have to hope that someone else can get them there in my honor. Hopefully the team is in good enough shape that you won't have trouble finding a taker for it. Thanks for everything.

All teams are set to expire on 1/31. Make sure you renew by then.
-
You are in, now both of your accounts
-
Is there still a group chat on slack for our league? If so, could I get an invite? My name on Slack is Russ Saul.

We are still searching for a manager to take over sportsballers. If anyone knows someone please let me know.

Last day of arbitration.

Arbitration runs from October 15th to November 15th. Please let a commish know if you run into any problems or have a question.

FYI for everyone: Arbitration started yesterday. You have been given a $25 budget to allocate towards players on other teams. You must allocate at least $1 to every team but cannot allocate more than $3 to any other team. Additionally, you must allocate all $25 or your allocations will not count and it will be as if you did not participate at all in arbitration. Also, your arbitration will not count if you do not allocate at least $1 to each team.

Congrats to Humble and the other top 5! Amazing job by all of you right down to the end!
-
Hah - the system won't let me claim him so I can cut him again...
-
Michael Fiers, YOU ARE DEAD TO ME...and Adam
-
Commish - please undo my cut of Fiers so I can rage cut again. He doesn't deserve the mercy of a single cut...

I have always been of the mindset that an owner that is leaving should not be making trades like this that deconstruct the roster at this degree. If tides was staying, the trade makes sense. But he has told myself and John that he is not staying on.

Full disclosure - I vetoed the trade. I understand if others don't see this as veto worthy. I think the trade was pretty lopsided with keepable elite and young talent, along with cap space, heading to Jersey's team that was not commensurate with the return. While Robert is a nice prospect I just don't see the justification for the loss of surplus and cap space. Further, if Tides is leaving the league then I view the roster as less appealing to draw in new owners when reducing elite MLB talent.
-
My only question is Tidewater coming back next season? If yes, the trade makes sense, if not I don't get why they would offer trades when they stated to John weeks ago they wanted out at end of season. I don't blame Mike at all, I would take that trade if offered to me.
-
I would like to get a little back story from Tides & Jersey about this trade.
-
This is rule #1 and Tides is already below that limit. It's been sliding by as we know it is a rebuild, but this trade will move 4 MLB roster players off bringing the team to ~14 MLB players.
-
Each team shall during the regular season maintain a roster of 22 major-league players that can fill out a starting lineup as defined below. The remaining 18 roster spots can be used for reserves, consisting of both major and minor leaguers.
i. A roster of 22 major-league players capable of filling out a starting lineup as defined below shall be maintained regardless of any games started, games played or innings limits.
-
I don't know how I feel about this deal. This will take tides into a roster with almost no major league players.
Additionally a huge loan going back with all MLB players.
-
Pretty focused on moving Bryant, Donaldson, Correa, and others with a few getting towards the end. Feel free to reach out and send offers if interested in any of the players on the block.
-
Seriously. Yuli has raised his season ppg by 1.5-2 points in the last 3 weeks!
-
Holy crap, the Gurriel bros are on fire!
-
Yuli Gurriel is on a crazy hot streak. He's probably accounted for half of my offensive points over the last few weeks. I'd gladly trade him for someone cheaper and younger if someone has an infield spot that they want to plug him into. His points are being wasted on my team
-
Unrelated to the team name, but it looks like I'm just like the Mariners this year. I'm taking everyone's cast-offs and piecing together a squad. Then I'll eat their salaries and trade them for anyone that helps my rebuild!
-
I just updated my team name from Philly Black Sox to better represent my current situation, haha.
