Thanks to those who have filled out the doodle. We've gotten 7 responses so far (including me), and 3 dates have 6 votes (Sat March 2, Wed March 6 and Wed March 20). Given that at least 2 managers can't make the other dates, I'm going to run a new poll with those 3 dates plus every Friday in March. Hopefully we can come to a consensus. I'll be sending out the new link soon.
-
Yeah, let's assume 8 pm eastern for all dates. Once we have more votes, we'll narrow it down and maybe add a couple more dates and then do a second round of polling.
Thank you all for your input and your votes so far!
-
Done. A Saturday night US time would work best for Matt and myself in Australia as they align to a Sunday morning.
-
Echoing the request for a night draft - Iβm on Arizona time, which is Denver time until DST starts on 3/10, Pacific/California time afterwards
An 8pm Eastern start would be ideal
-
Time was just a suggestion. Let's fill it out based on dates for now and we'll adjust the time accordingly
-
are we just filling it out based on dates, or should we take the listed time into account too? with my kiddos, any date that isn't a night draft torpedoes my likelihood of being able to participate.
-
Hey everyone! Pitchers and catchers are just about a month away, so please fill out this dodle poll with the dates you're available for our annual auction. Opening Day this year is March 28th, and I kept all possible dates in March so we'd have as much ST data as possible to inform our choices.
Here's the link, let me know if you have any questions: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/aKAZjNzd

Thanks, apologies all for the stuff up
-
No problem, I saw the note. Trade canceled.
-
Whoops I pressed the wrong button... Can a commish please cancel that?
-
Thanks everyone for completing their arb. Hot stove season is officially open!
-
Arbitration season is upon us, make it count!
-
Anyone feel free to message me about players you may have interest in , I have no sentimental attachments to anyone on my roster , as they are obviously not home grown. Open for dealing post arbitration.
-
Welcome to 108 Stitches guys!!!

Thanks everybody!
Team name change from Knights of the Night to Brooks Was Here
Seems fitting given the moment, and given that I just picked up a couple good 3B in the dispersal draft
-
Thank you, icaro is a great salesman
-
Welcome new guys!
-
Yeah Mayhem is correct, those are their prices, I believe you can go to the FG auction calculator to see what players earned? But I've never used it so can't confirm lol.
Everyone, please welcome our new managers to the league - Michael (mgoodrum) and Three IPA Guy (frpilz). They've taken over Knights and Starlifter, and will be choosing their rosters via dispersal draft, which you can access here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MVO2bI3nkH4C2k3ZJ533VzQ5AlyRJCVQgSw_vY1uIDc/e
-
With the risk of being not sure what you're exactly looking at, I think all the prices on the league pages are the average price for that player across leagues. As far as I know, there are no prices on the Ottoneu site for what players earned.
-
And please dont tell me that has been their for yrs....cause then ill feel like an idiot.

The Avg $ column on teams page... Does it represent What each player was worth, in a dollar amount, based 0n the production of that player in '23 season?

Great season, everyone! We kept it competitive and stayed engaged until the very end, and you can't really hope for more than that in a season-long league. Next up is arbitration, which should run October 15-November 14 as usual. We are losing Starlifters and Knights of the Knight - hopefully that's it? - and I'm considering running another dispersal draft to give incoming managers a fair chance at acquiring available players.
-
Fun year everyone and thanks for the messages. Looking forward to the off-season!
-
Btw... Congrats too Dbl Trbl, to Corey Seager, &3rd degree Burnes for winning the 3 money spots!!! Speacial shout out to Dbl Trbl for winning the 108 stitches league champion!

I think competitiveness, in most leagues, far outweighs sportsmanship...which in turn makes a competitive league... I'm good with it.

I did not expect to win all my auctions, but I thought if I missed out on players it would be because other people actually wanted them. I've said my thoughts. My 'beef' is not with the rules or the commissioner. See you all in January.
-
Lol just catching up here, why would anyone be upset with someone using their cap space as they see fit?
-
but this time it didn't work out. I believe Ottoneu is purposefully loose with the rules because these things tend to work themselves out. And I think that's exactly what happened here. (2/2)
-
I just don't understand how you would have beef with this, Mayhem. You have 27 players on the 60-IL because you thought you weren't going to be competitive this year so you invested your resources in that. Your prerogative. You started 8 last-minute auctions, apparently expecting to win all those players at $1 (just because it was the last day of the season). At the very least you were going to have to drop 8 players that no one would've been able to claim either. Again, your prerogative, (1/2)
-
Of course it's within the rules, but there's a fine line between competitiveness and sportsmanship. It's one thing to big competitively, it's something else to overbid on every single player with no intention of keeping them, and other teams can't even claim them on waivers at this point. It's bad look. I hope you enjoyed yourself.
-
I don't understand what the issue is. Cap space is part of the game as much as anything, and we can use it as we see fit and to our best interest. Some of us stockpile IL guys, some like prospects, some want to make sure other managers don't carry a bunch of cheap lottery tickets into the offseason... as long as we're under the cap and keep our rosters legal, it's all valid.
-
Seeing as every move is for next year at this point, it isnt in my best interest for everyone else to get $1 lottery tickets, so if people wanted to win they had to pay for them. Iβve been active within FA and waivers over the past few weeks with many of those being guys that Iβm not dropping. Not like I bid $30 on everyone, if you wanted to win them you could have at not huge price. Sorry if my actions have created frustration but given I have cap space, I feel like I should be able to use it.
-
Just because you can be an ass and block everyone from picking up players, doesn't mean you should.
-
Yeah I agree. Not so worried about 1a but I also think rosters should be legal as far as size and cap (again, excl. 60-IL and loans) going into arb. I don't think it's ever been an issue, but just wanted to have some clarity on it. Thanks for the input!
-
Yeah I think rosters should be legal too, not sure why it wouldn't be required?
-
All teams should be legal as far as roster size and cap (excl 60) when the season ends, right? Otherwise, what prevents teams from loading up on players?
-
Woah, 25 auctions, that's a lot of players to fit into our rosters. Not sure we ever discussed this as a league - do we expect teams to be 1a compliant by season's end? Or at least legal (excluding 60-IL and loans)?
-
Congrats to DT and TDB for their wins!
-
Thanks all for the shout outs. Definitely been a fun season even though weβve all been watching Double Trouble come in a run away with the title from the start. Extra shout out to drew and his newly named team for making a big comeback to get silver, especially with all the injuries. Anyway letβs make it a fun offseason and have another active season next year. Cheers, Jeff
-
Congrats Third Degree Burns on your OPL win and Double Trouble for dominating the season!
-
Congrats to Three degree burns for a great win in OPL
-
Thanks for a great season everyone! I'm glad to be part of such an active/competitive league. Contrats Double Trouble on a dominating season! And contrats to Third Degree for OPL, despite me dumping all my crappy veterans on him!
-
If you think you might not come back next year, please reach out to me so we can plan accordingly. 2. We'll go through Ottoneuβs new payment provider, Paydala, to reup our league fees. Follow this thread for updates: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/how-to-pay-for-ottoneu-with-paydala/13220/11; 3. Donβt forget arbitration! (~Oct 15-Nov 14); 4. Last but not least, congrats to our very own Third Degree Burnes for winning OPL 2023!! Hope to make things a little harder for ya next year ;)
-
Hey all, as we head into the last few days of the season, just wanted to thank everyone for making this such a healthy and active league! We had a bit of turnover since last offseason, but the new managers have been very engaged and helped keep things really competitive - one of them has even led the league wire to wire almost and looks poised to take home the chip (congrats, Double Trouble!). A couple of quick notes before we wrap things up: 1. I hope to see everyone back next year! (cont.)

Loving the name change, Drew!

Good move on the hitting coach, I'm thinking about it
-
Me & Pete are rolling down hill like a snowball headed to hell!... Mainly because of the inability of my Head coach to put the right players in the lineup every night. So, for this reason im firing our hitting coach....... Btw. I hope everyone in this league is old enough to remember Merle Haggard, LOL.... My rant is officially over. Good Day!
