She is active on Twitter. She ghosted the league. No big deal. Let’s find an active fantasy baseball owner, please
-
praying she is ok. i think starting to research a possible replacement is wise and do not commit to one, rather let them know the situation and i think jan 1 is fair time period to make a move. tough call either way!
-
Ditto. Shame to lose her, but she wasn't around for most of last season.
-
I agree with Poof. Definitely seems something could be wrong, and whats Willy worried about... unbridled power.
Seriously though we could even push a decision until closer to draft if we gave the potential replacement the ability to drop people upon takeover.
-
Should read would like to know she is okay.
-
And let her know at this point, it’s not about her playing in the league but wound like to know that she is okay.
-
She hasn’t been on since August. I hope everything is okay with her. It’s very odd that she hasn’t logged in or responded. She’s been a great owner and Commish. Having said that, I would hope a Commish would remain more involved and not disappear for that long. Like I said, I sure hope nothing is wrong or has happened to her. I say give it until first of year and see if she responds. We definitely should continue to reach her.
-
So, I'm looking for league input. I don't want to do anything like this without your input. Do we give it until January? Earlier? Not at all? I'm not going to do this because of the sensitivity of the issue. This is NOT me attempting to arrest power from her for my purposes, but rather a way to handle a tough situation. Again, any input would be helpful. You can place it on the Message board or DM me. Thanks.
-
Hi there-This is a tough one. I still have not heard from HotMess. I contacted her directly via her personal email on Nov 14. She did not reply. I spoke with the commissioner in her other Ottoneau league, and while they haven't "cut" her from the league, they are seriously thinking about doing this. Obviously, this is troublesome because 1. I do not want to do anything rash to a great owner. 2. She's our commish-which would make me the new FT commish. I don't want to see this as a powe
-
It would be great if everyone would update your trade block. Let everyone know who is available for trade. If I make an offer, counter if you don't like it. Most times, I only have small interest, so counter to see if we are even close. I can't read your mind to know your value and we all value players differently.
-
Hey everyone-Has anyone heard from and know anything about Hot Mess? I checked activity this morning and noticed she has not logged into the league since the middle of August. Obviously, this is not good. However, she is my co-comissioner and one of the best owners in the league. I do not want to do anything rash. I'll email her later today to check in--I just didn't know if anyone here had any insight. Thanks. FYI-last day of arbitration is today! Throw that $$$ around!
-
Just a reminder-arbitration ends on Thursday, Nov 14. If you haven’t started or have decided on doing something different, this is the last week to do so. Good luck. Have fun. Stay warm.
-
Hi-I just returned from work and made all the adjustments to Brian’s team and imposed the correct salaries to each player. My apologies, Garrett Cooper was the 2nd cut and not Garrett Richards (although cheryl owned both garretts-which is weird). My apologies. This is what I get for doing roster changes on my phone. I need to take better care next time. Again, my apologies.
-
Hi-Those are probably user error on my part as I worked quickly with Cheryl before she left the league to get her roster legal. I'm going to guess it was P. Baez and not Bieber. The Cueto? It was supposed to be G. Richards instead. So, I'm going to replace those two cuts with Baez and Richards. Does anyone have a problem with this? I made the mistake. It's all on me. I worked too quickly and screwed up.
-
And Ceuto too please
-
Who did my teams last round of cuts. Shane Bieber is definitely a keeper. I'd like him back
-
Welcome to our little band of misfits. I’ve competed with Brian for the past few years. Great competitor. Solid and active owner.
-
Afternoon guys,
Looking forward to playing with you guys. Got a bit of work before competing it seems.
Cheers,
Brian
-
Can we stop? Please? Issue has been resolved. Dexter Fowler is available for everyone to bid on.
-
Asking for rules to be followed is now temper tantrum. Evidently you can't read very well. Just wanted cuts made like everyone else had to do. Hate to see you go Sheryl. Good luck to you and keep on writing.
-
Sorry to see you go, Sheryl. Hopefully that guy's temper tantrum wasn't the deciding factor. Sheryl's willingness to trade anyone on her team made these past couple offseasons quite fun
-
btw...Arbitration has begun. Ends on November 14th. Arbitration is super important to keeping the league equal. Do your best to find 10-15 minutes to the process. Thanks.
-
Good news, bad news. I contacted Sheryl. Cuts were made to the roster. Sheryl is honestly super busy and just had an oversight. We now have a legal roster. Bad news? Sheryl's work schedule means that I will be abandoning the Fighting Chihuanas soon. No worries, we will find a new owner. If you have one in mine, let me know. I'm pestering some baseball nerds to help out as well. If you know someone interested in joining the league, let me know.
-
Once the offseason begins, there is no cap(due to salary increases). But the roster rules should remain in effect for any transactions made while the season still exist. Rules shouldn't be different because it's the last few days of season. It's still in season and rules should be the same as if it were May, June, etc. I actually would prefer no transactions can be made last week of season and all cuts(salary cap and player limit rules) must be made in that final week before season ends.
-
Both. Under the roster limit and under the salary cap(legal roster rules during season). The moves are made during season, therefore season rules should still apply. The cuts should be made during the season too(not after the season). The penalty for picking up a player(or blocking another team from acquiring) should be the decision of who to cut and remain under the cap. Then those cut players should be available for waivers bid(like during the season).
-
Are you suggesting everyone needs to get under the roster limit, the cap limit, or both?
-
There is a salary cap during the season. The moves were made during the season. Therefore the rules in place during the season should be followed. That last week should be treated the same as first or middle of season. The advantages are blocking others from picking up players, able to carry more options into arb, and having more keeper or trade options to use or choose from. I will show you next year how it can be a small advantage. All owners should have to make proper cuts.
-
Essentially, it’s the Wild West until the keeper deadline. And then it resets. So...yeah. Have at it. But, arbitration and the cap will take care and of it all.
-
Rule VII
c.... there is no salary cap from the end of the MLB season until the keeper deadline.
-
And I don't want to hear one word from anyone when I do it.
-
Evidently it doesn't matter if you go over roster limit while picking up or blocking others from picking up free agents late in the season. Since there is no accountability to have a legal roster and go into arbitration with extra players. Let it be known, that in future years I will be bidding, blocking, and hoarding every player I can find late in the season. I will not waive players appropriately and go into offseason with an abundance of players to choose from and way over the salary cap.
-
Chihuahuas-send your cuts to Commish.
-
Welcome Couth! I'm a Mets fan but currently living in Minnesota, so would be doubly happy if the Twins could finally win a playoff series against the Yankees.
-
Thanks, this may be a slow rebuild. I'd appreciate all arb dollars going towards Chris Davis. It's in the team name so you won't forget. Happy offseason, and let's go Rays
-
Good news- offseason baseball warriors! We have a new owner for Margaritaville. Couthcommander is a member of another Ottoneu league (along with Daniel, the owner of Rye Bread). We are joined by a VERY solid owner-he's got his work cut out for him, but I'm more than confident that we have added a very able bodied owner to our league. Welcome him with open arms. We are closing in on arbitration season (10/15). Let's do our homework and make it a valuable part of the league!
-
I'm a White Sox fan, so I have not had much to cheer for lately. Have followed the Braves since the early 90s (thanks TBS!), so I will be pulling for them
-
Margaritta's owner contacted me last night to have me "abandon' his team. We spoke about this near the end of the season and he agreed this was best for the league stating that we deserve active participation. So, it's good to know he made a good decision for the health of this league. In the end, we have an available team. If you know someone interested in the spot let them/me know. the team can be picked up by anyone in the Ottoneau community. Hopefully it's filled prior to arb. begins.
-
Enjoy the postseason. I’m a huge, season ticket holding Cubs fan. So, I got nothing in the line. Still, I’ll watch all the games when I can. Hoping for lots of game 5s and 7s. Pensive and agitated looks on fan’s faces. It’s the Astros to lose. I kinda hope Kershaw can get one though.
-
Okay fellas and gals, who you pulling for this postseason? And who is your favorite team? I'm a Braves fan, so Go Braves!!!
-
Yeah. Rosters locked as of 11:59 Sunday evening. I made the appropriate roster changes for the Krushers. Please let me know what changes need to be made to illegal rosters. A couple of weeks before arbitration season is upon us.
-
Congrats on the championship! Haven't logged in for a few days. Rosters appear to be locked. Could one of the commissioners please drop Desclafani from my squad to get me legal?
-
Chihuahuas and Krushers need to cut players and get the roster limit legal. If an owner is gonna bid players late, and potentially block another owner from acquiring a player, then the owner should be held accountable to make the appropriate cuts. Shouldn't be able to go into arbitration with extra options. Those owners need to report to Commish who they want to cut, so Commish can make the cuts for them.
-
nicely done
-
Congrats Willy's!
-
Thanks Eloy. I made some bold moves and will probably pay with a possible 2015 Royals’ tear down. We will see. My only regret is it wasn’t a fully active league. Gotta make it happen. This format deserves full participation. As a partial commissioner, this falls on me. Hopefully, we can clean it up. Happy post season baseball everyone!
-
Congrats to Willy's! Your team was pretty amazing from the all-star break on. I was expecting to lose some ground considering my IP pace, but I didn't expect a juggernaut.
-
FYI-We want to avoid the midnight trade deadline issues from last season. I suggest we utilize Saturday, August 31 Midnight PT. I believe everyone here lives in the continental US. If not, we can move it later. I hope this is an easy solution. This goes for any trade in any time zone. Midnight PT on August 31. Please let me know if you have any issues. I want ot make this as simple as possible.
-
I'm attempting to contend, but I did not have an issue with the trade. Maybe Max returns this season and throws a handful of starts, or maybe he gets hurt right before coming back again. You could argue he is a keeper next year, but maybe he isn't to everyone. Max was offered to me, and I passed. I'm guessing Max was shopped to most teams near the top and he was traded for the best (perhaps only?) offer. That is really all you can ask from league mates.
-
How did that scherzer trade pass? Total joke. Im good on this lg. Appreciate the opp. Best of luck to all. Im going to abandon this team. Thanks again.
-
Welcome to the group!
