And I'm still interested in overpaying for Rizz and KB. I want to rename my team Bryzzo Souvenir Co pretty bad. Maybe if I include Delmonico as a sweetener on my last offer you will pull the trigger?? ;)
-
I acquired Baez because I heard rumblings about awesome tags being factored into the scoring next year in FG Pts leagues. It's next years market inefficiency!
-
Wham Pham Thank you Ma'am's trade block has been updated!
-
Exactly. I still think Addison Russell is going to win MVP in the next 3 years!
-
Nope. I dealt them the SchWAR... haha!
-
Come on, Rizzo. We all have "our guys." Those players who we, for completely irrational reasons, hold onto more than we should because our eyes, or our own projections, or our gut, tell us are worth the extra couple of dollars to make sure we have him because we think they'll be the Next Big Thing. I bet you do too, and you don't cut them either.
-
Let's not fool ourselves: Delmonico is an interesting case study, but to predict he will "be a star" is a stretch. Steamer has him as league average. Any prediction beyond that is blind optimism. Pirela is a little worst via Steamer. Both ought to be cut and added for a buck or two. Nonetheless, the trade has been made. Hopefully your deck chairs suit your needs ;)
-
I loved the offer too. I actually thought about for almost 48 hours and really got to liking Delmonico. Steamer really likes him too. Guess I figured I'd go with the guy who is a couple years younger with the friendlier home ballpark. Pirela is currently owned by more people than Delmonico which I think is interesting as well. I like "little" deals like this, just continually tinkering and finding any marginal upgrade you think you can.
-
While we are on the subject of trades...this little gem was on Rotographs today: "Recently, an owner paid Paul Goldschmidt and Corey Kluber to acquire Ronald Acuna."
Discuss.
-
Nice comp. I watched Delmonico last year and you gotta love his style
-
I agree re: Pirela, but I don't think he's a true talent .340 BABIP guy. I think the sleeper here is Delmonico. I think Delmonico is Matt Joyce.
-
Pirela has a lot to like. His batted ball profile showed a lot of improvement that should be sustainable.
-
No I wasn't being sarcastic. I think both Delmonico and Pirela are decent players. I love how two under-the-radar breakouts with question marks are being traded for each other. That doesn't happen very often.
-
With all due respect, in my crappy opinion, I think Delmonico is going to be a star.
-
Gotta be honest...I love the Pirela/Delmonico challenge trade.
-
So Margaritaville is run by one of my best friends, who I've known for 15 years, and who knows more about baseball than anyone I've ever met. Trust me when I tell you that for whatever deals he makes, he knows what he's doing. I admit, I wouldn't have made some of them myself. But trust me also when I tell you that he would never, ever, ever make a nefarious trade.
-
Krushers: it's her, not his. :)
-
I think the moves Kraken made are good for his/her team (user name is Sheryl, so I don't know). I was more so saying I did not understand deals made by Margaritaville. That team's owner created the Ottoneu account 11/27, joined this league and quickly made 3 trades that I would consider head scracthers. Just seemed odd
-
Rizzo...that's exactly right. (That's why I made the Rendon deal too btw.) I don't think my team is talent-less. But the team with (a) the best bullpen and (b) the most surplus wins in my ottoneu experience. So I'm looking to build a balanced roster, and I'll add a star or two at the auction.
-
IMHO, the moves Kraken made indicate an attempt to find surplus in some contracts. Kershaw's contract was a little high..and he moved him for a talent subtraction, but a little more financial stability. I don't agree with the talent move, but the financial gains seem to be a real thing. Hie deal for Zimmerman with me was a surplus gain as I decided to take a risk with Eaton (I hope not to regret this in 2018). I don't agree with many of the moves, but that doesn't mean they're nefarious.

The Final Boss I knew. Stoned Buddha I didn't. That is absolutely hilarious.
-
Seung-hwan Oh's nicknames: Stoned Buddha and The Final Boss
-
Nothing fishy here, I promise. And I don't agree that these guys are "clear cuts." However, I do have to ask. Who the hell is Stoned Buddha?
-
Poof, I also thought some of this was fishy. Seemed like players with any value were shipped to a trio of teams for some clear cuts (Lester, Gomez, Stoned Buddha, etc)

Oh, and Choo is projected by Steamer to be worth $16. He's priced at $15. I buy those values.
-
I was planning on keeping Kershaw. Then an opportunity opened up for other improvements and I needed to clear salary. I think I have made my team overall better since I joined. I have assembled a killer bullpen, a decent starting rotation, a really good infield, and a bunch of good young talent. A core of Sanchez, Rendon, Gallo, Bird, Rivero, Hand, Clevinger, Paxton, Green, and Casty is pretty damn good, and I have an underpriced Murphy and Cruz too. I think I have a contender there.
-
So you give up a under cost Clayton Kershaw for an overpriced Choo. Why? What would be your purpose there? Some of these trades being made make no sense to better their team(cost or talent wise). Margaritaville wants an under priced Machado for Manea from me, then takes that return and gives up more. I sure don't see the winner your building. Looks kinda fishy joining the league and dumping the whole roster in a few days. Trading is fun but make sure there's a valid purpose behind it.

Looking for a mid-rotation SP and a 1b. I can take on a bit of salary. Feel free to hit me up now or after all the many many trades clear.

The surplus calculator is up. It has Thor at $50, and Trout at $78 (!!). If Trout is close to $80, I wonder what prime Bonds would have been.

I think some may be instances where a team made a mistake and accidentally cut someone so a commish re-added them? But the rest could be a new league doing an auction or something, not exactly sure.
-
That's a good question Poof. I've wondered that myself. Are there some leagues where auctions are allowed?
-
This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know how the Ottoneu Dashboard page shows players added at the top scrolling. How are players getting added? Are other leagues drafting, adding free agents? It's my understanding that is not possible at this time of year. No big deal, but was just curious where the player added info was coming from. Trades maybe?
