• I honestly feel a little cheated here. I'm a new owner in this league and not only won the bid on Newcomb but started it. Clearly I would have dropped a player beforehand if I had been aware of this house rule. I'd recommend outlining it better somewhere for future new owners.

• In this case, one auction is impacted. No second bidders were involved in either of Ty Cobb's most recent acquisitions, but Sean Newcomb had a second bidder and winning him put Smashers over roster cap. I am going to move him from Smashers to Seismic and reduce salary to $3 to match second highest bid. Again, I'm sorry for not being more on top of explaining this rule, which I think is our only customized non-standard rule in this league. Thanks for spotting, Pudge.

• That is actually true, and I apologize if I didn't fully explain that rule in advance to any new owners. For the past two seasons we've operated with the rule that a team must have an open spot on the roster prior to winning an auction. If it doesn't have a roster spot available and the player won has a second bidder, the player is to be awarded to the next highest bidder with an available spot.

• Unfortunately, Springfield Meltdowns' owner asked to leave the league yesterday so I've marked his team as abandoned and the team will need a new owner. If anyone knows somebody... I think it's a really enticing roster, myself. He did make cuts to get under $400, but if another manager comes in after 1/31 and needs to make any further cuts they will be allowed to do so one time with no penalty.
